@virindi1 damn right ! its called in por ylem 2 ! the server exists since february 2011. ppl say its like in the old UO days. im noob to UO. but i really enjoy the danger. and the server is really crowded. i think ultima online on the IPY 2 shard, is the best mmorpg out there.
@NeonEagleProduction I been mucking around with it this morning, it works on UO gamers Hybrid, Defiance, havnt checked ABC and Im having trouble with it on Pandora. But it's great client, a job well done.
I found it was a little hard to pvp as a dexxer on UOgamers Hybrid though.

Iris needs a .deb package somethin major. Source tarball requires like two dozen dependencies and who the hell uses OpenSuSE? Linux Mint is where it's at.
jw is KR (kingdom reborn) 3d? the art doesnt look like 2d and it runs like 3d. maybe you could use the KR client instead of the uo3d client. it would improve graphics massively
graphics is 3d and our own made one. UOKR is not 3d. Its 2d and only uses some 3d effects. We are completely 3d and we use some of the uo3d client data for example the monsters and chars. the rest is our own ;)
I played UO for a few months in like 2000 or so. It was a fun time.
Now I see this and want to play again.
As a software developer, I am amazed at your technology, it seems like you've made it interpret each tile, load in the appropriate 3d model for that tile, place it, blend the seams of tiles with shaders to make smooth transitions, and so on, meaning that any maps work with this engine.
I've any question... I could play the UO in 2D Client in a server friend of Iris2... but I had problems to pass or install to Iris2 3D client... I'ld want to try it one more time and try to play in 3d client... need a bit help for iris2 works better, in a singles steps!
I'm looking this project evolution since the beginning and it's great to see this old 2d game run better and better in 3d. Maybe I will reactivate my account one day to test this out.
This is absolutely beautiful, thanks for the work you've put into this! If EA was smart they'd brought uo into full 3d a long time ago instead of churning out a god awful expansion pack every year to degrade the quality of the game...
I'm a software developer & been tampering a bit with RunUO a few years ago, so I know a little bit how UO works inside. I must say that's incredible piece of good work. What surprised me the most is what you were able to carve out of the map, which is stored as a tiled 2d-intended thing. Wow, keep going!
The old releases of Iris gave me no end of problems, but ogre itself was still a little buggy then, I think I'm going to have to give it a go once more and see how it works for me now.

Iris support also the old 2D Client view. You should better checkout our website and everything, before posting ;-).

The funny thing is that UO looks better in 2D (especially Kingdom Reborn) than 3D but good job nonetheless.
UO Mittelerde project was the bomb though. Too bad it got shut down :(

I played UO for a few months in like 2000 or so. It was a fun time.
Now I see this and want to play again.
