before all the people go search on wikipedia and rant on someone about the m14ebr/m14/m21. all three of them chamber the 7.62x51 cartrige. the m21 is an m14 with a telescopic sight, this was then phased out by the m24 in the late 80's. now there is no weapon reffered to as an "m21" this is very confused with the m14ebr which is an m14SOPMOD. two companies worked together on this weapon The Smith Enterprises and Springfeild Armory which they named the Mk14SEI Mod 0 aka todays m14ebr.

The M21 is an accurized, semi auto only variant of the M14, and is still in limited service today.

The original M14 EBR was designed by Mike Rock and Jim Ribordy, Smith Enterprises only got involved in 2003.
