Victor wooten is a soulful bassist and channels that into his work,

while Flea channels the full fury and manic energy of funk into his, therefore earning his nickname,

Flea's an awesome bassist. I would definitely say he's not the absolute best, but one of the best. Especially his machine gun-like slapping style. Awesome...

@hh23hh actually, for those who dont know, chili peppers also was created from this partnership... anthony, the vocalist, gave a chance for chad smith to play with flea, to sea how he used to perform... then they just went to a 1vs1: flea on bass and chad on drums.. after that, u know how the story ends xD

i think the chili peppers could not survive without anthony.... but those two can also try something just between them both

I agree. Well there are a lot of rhcp songs that suck, but all the mainstream songs are just great. I'm a guitarist myself and i know that frusciante is a great guitarist. He has a very nice funky ritme style playing, with lead in it. It actualy sounds like 2 guitars. It's just the same like hendrix did. There were much better guitarists and bands in the past. But from these days music, rhcp is just the best. Oh and flea is one of the greatest bass players i've ever seen.
