They are only Chinoteague ponies on that Island. Ever since the hurricane that split the island the ponies have been called by both names. They really do bite & kick so sticking your finger in it's face was not wise. They have learned that cars give them food which sadly is why so many of them get hit by them every year.

Actually, they're called CHINCOTEAGUE PONIES. And they are considered feral, not wild. Look it up.
