  • Just subscribed to you and have enjoyed a few of your posts. Great to see such a big fan of Zep. Looking forward to watching more. Have a great weekend.

  • @sundodger1

Wow, checking out my older videos. I very much appreciate these nice words. I just subscribed to you and was checking out those amazing shops out in Seattle. I have a first cousin who lives out there and after seeing those shops I may have to find out if she lives near them. If so, a visit out there may be in the planning stages when school gets out.

I am going to check out your other post now. I will try to get your first name too. Thanks again~

    Rob

  • @Paneeks1960 First name is Gary. Nice to meet you Rob.

  • Hi Robert. I was just wondering what kind of record player and/or sound system do you play your lps on?

  • @JohnPrince80

Hello John, I am so sorry that I had not got back to you until now. I appreciate you subscribing to my channel as well. I have a really simple system. I have two Klipsch KG4 speakers, an Onkyo Reciever and an Onkyo tape deck, a Technics turntable and a JVC CD player. I also have a 10 band EQ which I use all the time. I hope that helped you out some? Thanks for checking in with me.

    Rob

  • amazing!

  • @elbosausage

I am really thankful that you watched this one too Gary. It has almost got 600 views. I do not like the looks of the camera but we cannot have it all right? Again, you have been amazing and I appreciate it very much. Your friend from Boston,

    Rob

  • See what you've done now Rob?! .. you've got me checking out Zeppelin on eBay here in Oz. I hate to think of the money you must have spent in gathering your collection (and what it must be worth now!) coz Zeppelin vinyl prices are right up there! I had no idea .. ha. Great video Rob .. you've got an amazing collection.

  • @DigitalStrip Hello there John. Wow, this is fantastic because I did not realize that anyone was still checking this video out? I appreciate it very much. I have spent some money on these but it was done in a very long span of time. I actually started collecting Zeppelin vinyl in 1974. You are right the prices are getting crazy for live shows and especially on vinyl. The Japanese titles are outrageous in price.

Let me know if you ever need help in Zeppelin related buying. Thanks John~

    Rob

  • I somehow missed this Video until now Rob! Led Zep IV is my favourite - but I'm told it's every Drummer's favourite! Those Classics 200g pressing cost a bloody fortune here in the UK. I had a couple but sold them a couple of years ago to raise some cash :-( I have 2 Led Zep Box Sets which are awsome! That Pink Led Zep I is great Rob! It's great to see you so passionate about Vinyl mate! Cheers! Ade/UK.

  • @pudsi I am just happy that you checked out this video now Ade. I a, lucky that I got the 200 gram pressings when I did. I am still missing a few including the BBC Sessions. I will dish out the money and grab that soon. Led Zep iV is a drummer's favorite as well as Houses of the Holy I believe. You will get the 200 gram vinyls back in time I am sure. I think we are going to see more pressings of all the albums someday soon anyways. Love to hear that you have those box sets. Thanks Ade,

    Rob

  • I love Zeppelin as well! Physical Graffiti is the best but every album is classic!

  • @TheHeavymetalpenguin Thank you very much Tim. I really appreciate you taking the time out to check out this video. I also agree with your 'on the money' comment regarding all of Zeppelins albums being classics. That is the truth. I have not and will not ever get sick of hearing the studio releases. Take care Tim, talk to you soon my friend,

    Rob/Boston

  • Presence is the best

  • @BleachTW You bet it is. I love it and it will always rate as one of the most important albums to come out in the 70's for me. It has everything that you need from Led Zeppelin. Thanks for your comment~

  • i remember the letter system some record stores used to use, here in my town it was Record Bar in the local mall.i remember wishing they would just put the price on the damn record! very cool Jimmy Page and Black Crowes, indeed they did play very well.glad you got a good deal on it.the Classic Records LP's i have are some of the very best sounding in my collection imo.man i love that colored vinyl! take care!

  • @dimebagdave77 DAVE! Always great to hear from you. I see you did a little flip back on my older video. It is a privilege knowing that a fellow VC member would take an interest like that on my channel. You are right about the 200 gram or any Classic Records pressings. They all sound really great and have little to no noise on them at all. Just pure and all out Zeppelin and that is just the way I dig it. It is always cool to talk with you Dave. Especially Zeppelin related~

    Rob/Boston

  • I can see David Bowie's Aladdin Sane hiding on the shelf behind you. Jealous. Very jealous.

  • @MrMAHBOI1 You have very good eyes. I just subscribed to your channel. I saw you had a few Zeppelin videos so I will check them out and hopefully leave you some comments. Thanks for your comment. It very much appreciated,

    Rob/Boston

  • Great scores there!! I remember the letter price system on vinyl at Camelot Music way back when! :) AWESOME Zep albums.

  • @jcashfan365 Wasn't this letter system wild? I think I remember Camelot music because I was managing Strawberries Records which was around at the same time of Camelot I think.? I really appreciate you viewing this Joel and also the compliment on my Zeppelin LP's. I used to have a few more somewhere. I have the six different covers for In Through The Out Door that I will post soon and show everyone the differences in the covers. But thanks for checking this out, much appreciated~

    Rob

  • Amazing, just Amazing!!!!!!!!!!

  • @TheBlackhawkSniper Again, thanks a million Zak. I really appreciate your comments and friendship here in the vinyl community. Your music collection is also getting larger as I see in your videos. It would be nice if your folks handed down some of their vinyl. Take care my friend~

    Rob

  • Hey Rob, I've got the Mothership box set and thought it would do me for my Zeppelin collection but you've definitely inspired me to pick up some albums. Great video thanks. Check out my box set review if you've got time :)

  • @Rhiview Hello Rhiannon and thank you very much for that compliment. The Mothership box is a wonderful box set to own but I think for folks who want too hear more of the 'were not played as much songs' you may be doing the right thing in searching out for some other studio LP's. I purchased the fourth LP about 35 years ago and they are still my fave. If you need any help with any Zeppelin related, please send me a note. I subscribed to you and thank you for subbing me~ Talk to you soon,

    Rob

  • man u got some great stuff , ive got almost everything they put out, even deathwish , dont know why but i do , my fav albums are what u mentioned , my favorite song is no quarter off the live lp jimmys solo and jpj solo puts me in a trance yeah i know at 47 yrs alot of things put me in a trance, never got to see them , i did get to see robert in memphis on his first solo tour thanks for sharing......willie

  • @willieBB123 Thanks a lot Willie, I really appreciate your comment. To say that you saw Robert Plant's first solo tour says a lot because it was so long ago. It shows that you were a true Zeppelin fan back then and you just missed out in seeing them live by a couple of years. I was lucky enough to see them live because I had a cousin who was going to the shows and got me a ticket for the first night that I went. Stay tuned, I may do another Zeppelin video soon. Thanks again,

    Rob/Boston

  • that is some wicked stuff, great albums there i would love to have physical graffiti on vinyl and houses of the holy

  • @Led1995Zeppelin In time I know you will get all of the Zeppelin albums on vinyl. If you really have a passion for any band's music, eventually you will want to hear everything that they did. Since you told me you have all of their CD's, the next cool thing would be to listen to the vinyl and make the comparison of sound. I personally love the old Zeppelin punchy sound that the records produce. The CD's are clear but the records have that true Zeppelin studio sound. Thanks again Sam,

    Rob

  • @Paneeks1960 no problem Rob i much prefer the vinyl sound to CD, i've found comparing led zepp VI vinyl with CD that the cd is slightly muffled compared to the vinyl. I will get all of zeppelin's albums some time but it will take time to find good copies :)

  • Great video! Interesting alternate version of those albums. I was always skeptical about those 200 grams reissues that you talked about, but now that you mention how great they sound, I might try to pick them up! Knowing that Jimmy Page worked on them makes me feel a lot better, too...you know, that he had some involvement in the whole process. Thanks!

  • @thetcha70 Yes Jimmy Page usually supervises every remastered anything that is released with Led Zeppelin's name on it. He supervised over all the DVD releases including the new Song Remains The Same with the songs that were deleted from the original 76 release. I don't think he got credited for the 200 gram vinyl pressings. But I know that any new pressings of all studio releases must get Page's approval for the master tapes and final mix. Thanks a lot thecha70 {cool screen name},

    Rob

  • Interesting to hear your choice of Zeppelin favorites. I need to listen to Presence, it's been awhile. That colored vinyl is freaking killer! Yes, the obi strip is to make the information readily readable for consumers from that country principally. You do see them partially or totally in english on occasion. I really enjoyed listening to you share your enthusiasm and knowledge about this great band.

  • @dereckvon Thanks for clearing up the OBI strip's reason for being on the albums Dereck~ I ruined the explanation in the video. Hearing your compliment about the knowledge that I have on Zeppelin made my night. Someday I may talk about the cancelled 1980 tour. John Bonzo Bonham passed away on my twentieth B-Day. I had 35 days {roughly} to see them play in Buffalo on the 1980 Tour {part 1} in America. It was not meant to be on that tour~ Thanks Dereck, your the best!

    Rob/Boston

  • @Paneeks1960 It would be so cool if you shared such an event in your life. The significance of it all has to be deep.

  • @dereckvon I just may do that Dereck. I have some stories, vinyl, books, magazines, original tour jerseys and more stuff that would make a great 30 minute video. I also have framed original 1977 and 1980 tour posters . The thing I am most proud of is when I went to see them play at Live Aid 85 in Philly, I took a notebook and wrote during the whole show. From 8:00 am until 1:00 am the following day all full of stories from the day~A lot of notes that the TV never showed. Thanks again Dereck~

  • @Paneeks1960 Bring it on!

  • Yeah, great video and amazing Zeppelin-LPs!!! Yer such a lucky guy to have Pressence and Physical Graffiti new and sealed!!! Love the colored re-pressings too! Thanks for sharing!!

  • @ryanrocks84 Your so very welcome Ryan~ I have been digging your videos and I thank you for subscribing to my channel. Yes, Physical G and Presence I have opened on vinyl, so that is why I grabbed those two sealed copies for nostalgia sake. The colored vinyls are cool but I would suggest to buy the 200 gram Zeppelin releases if you want to hear the albums the way they should have sounded all along. They are amazing but way too expensive. Take care Ryan,

    Rob/Boston

  • great, great video man! show you're Floyd and Alice Cooper sometime, please! take care brother.

  • @dimebagdave77 OK you got it Dave. I will eventually show what Floyd I have {including live CD's} and also I may show my new Alice Cooper 180 gram vinyl remaster of BBB. Thanks for suggesting that and also for your comment. I am very happy that you liked the Zeppelin post. You take care also and I will talk to you later~

    Rob/Boston

  • Gotta get some Led Zeppelin records.. they are hard to find in CPH.. they go as hot bread here. Great video.

  • @merokodk Hello Sid~ I just wanted to tell you that Zeppelin played in Copenhagen many times. They performed two of my favorite shows at the Falconer Theatre in CHN on July 23 / 24, 1979. Those were the surprise warm up shows for the two gigs they did at Knebworth Park a few weeks later on August 4 and 11, 1979. It is amazing how a band still has record selling power in so many countries all these years after they broke up. Thanks for watching my video and commenting Sid. I appreciate it~

    Rob

  • Amazing collection of Led Zeppelin records! Alas, I have none, and need to pick up a few copies. Where do you start ? So many copies on EBay 2nd, 3rd, 4th re-releases. The classic vinyl ones look sweet. Loved the overview,

  • @EarlofSuave308 Hello Jimmy~ If I were to suggest a starting point for you I would say to get Zeppelin III and Physical Graffiti. Those two are fantastic and they are filled with all of the styles of playing that they expanded on. From blues, acoustic, heavy, mellow and some country feel as well. Or you could get Mothership for the hits or BBC Sessions for some killer early live stuff that is mixed well. Always great to hear from you~Hope all is well in Jersey my friend~

    Rob/Boston

  • great vid Rob - Zep rules for sure. You know your shit man!

  • @glowing00cabbage

That means a lot coming from a guy who is so music literate. Just an example was that Diamanda Galas LP that you showed. There is nothing more rewarding for me than watching a fellow collector talk about artists that I am not familiar with. I write them down in a small notebook and take it with me when I go to the record shops and hopefully I find some. Since I have loved Zeppelin for so long, I wanted to show a few of my newer buys. Thank you for your comment Jeff,

    Rob

  • P.S., i remember that letter price system they used to use,i used to see it in Record Bar and various classic music stores,HAVE A GREAT SATURDAY! that J. Page with the Black Crowes sounds great as i'm sure you know! but i don't have that one on vinyl.PEACE, Dave

  • @dimebagdave77 Yes that pricing code system was kind of freaky in a way. I could not understand that if they could put a letter on the sticker, why not just put the price instead? Another words, why make it more complicated for the buyers. The place that had it was the Harvard Coop. It is one of the coolest areas in Boston/Cambridge but the store was just OK. I never heard of the Record Bar but I do dig the name of the place. Your comments and friendship are appreciated David.

    Rob/Boston

  • On side four of physical graffiti, very inspiring video pal! Loving the stuff!

  • @ROBERTyay Physical Graffiti is a monster of a rock album. As you know it has everything from Blues, acoustic, honky tonk piano and all out hard driving rock and roll. After that kid in my old high school told me that "it had just got released", I was at the store a week later to buy it. I could not believe just how good those four guys were both in the studio and live. It was a perfect rock and roll marriage. I really appreciate your friendship. Talk to you soon my friend~

    Rob

  • Friday night, the Led is blasting, I can understand! The outtake CD is cool, and the sealed one, I was like damn sealed ones, now I'm second guessing!! never knew about this letter system, very, very interesting..Amazing stories about bands and shows! And great deal on that triple LP deal! Very very amazing spanish ones! This video i'm so loving and drooling stunned over, these are crazy!! I'm so putting on some LedZep now! Thanks so much! One or a million! All together! You're the best Rob!

  • @ROBERTyay Hello Robert~ Thanks for your comment. I also dig hearing from you. I very enjoy watching the appreciation and excitement that you show for your music/vinyl. That outtake CD is one of many. These were my recent Zeppelin buys from the last 6 months or so.. Presence and Physical were a gift from a friend. I kept them sealed because I have opened copies of each one. Oh, please check out the description of the video. You helped me to motivate and do that video~Thanks a lot,

    Rob

  • I remember those lettered price stickers. I still have several albums with those stickers on them. Triple record Page/Black Crowes for $8? What a steal! Classic Records pressings are usually phenomenal. How cool that you've got those Classic reissues! Colored vinyl on some of those, too! I'm going to try not to be jealous of those and be content with my original pressings of these records. ;-) Great overview, Rob!

  • @EoLoVoX Wasn't that strange when they used to letter the price tags instead of just pricing them? I could not understand that format at all. There is a used record store in Boston called Nuggets that still writes your order on the small pads of paper with the carbon in between. I dig that~ I was sure you had all the Blimp pressings and originals to boot. After seeing them perform in 1977, I was hooked. I appreciate your friendship, comments and your amazing videos~

    Rob {the one in Boston}

  • @Paneeks1960 - The letters were used so that, in the event of a price change, all the records in the store did not need to be individually repriced. They just changed the price on the letter key behind the checkout. That's my understanding, anyway.

I'm very jealous that you caught Zeppelin live! As big a fan as I was/am, I have never seen them live except on video.

  • @EoLoVoX Now that makes more sense to me now. Thanks for clearing that up for me Rob. The one place that went by that system was The Coop in Harvard Square, Cambridge. It is of the coolest/hippest places to hang out and watch street musicians.~ Yes I was lucky enough to see Zeppelin 3 times in a week during the 1977 tour. They were LOUD but extremely clear. The PA they used was the best for that era. I am sorry that you never caught them live.

Thanks again my friend for your comments~

    Rob

  • Wow your video makes me want to go out and buy up all the Zepplin I can find! I only have their first album on vinyl. Thank you for the post. Good stuff!!

  • @23monkeyboots Hey Josh~I hope you do buy the whole Zeppelin catalog. Everyone should have the first 8 or 9. It doesn't really matter if you buy The Song Remains The Same because its a live/movie soundtrack in a sense. A great tour in 1973 it was, but its a live LP that you can watch on DVD and here it at the same time. I would buy Physical, III, Presence and IV since you have the first already. BBC Sessions is pretty wild also~Thanks for commenting my friend, very much appreciated~

    Rob

  • Love those colored pressings. I like to have some of those Classic records ones. I only have two of those. 1 Hendrix and 1 Miles Davis. They do sound very good. Zep III has always been one of my favorites. It really stands apart from the others. I have a Zep II with a Gold Record Award sticker on the front. I saw someone on ebay asking $400 something for one. I was thinking "What!!?. You wish." Great Zeppelin LPs. Thanks for the share. :)

  • @stringchild1 I appreciate you commenting on the colored vinyl pressings. I really got lucky when I purchased them very recently. I bought one of of this guy I met who sold LP's on the side. I liked it so much I bought the other two that he had. That Zeppelin II with the gold sticker on front is the original way they printed it. There are different valued pressings depending on what address the print was done. You have a great collectible either way~I subscribed to you tonight~

    Thanks. Rob

  • nice vid rob led zep rule missing BBC Sessions but they sell for good money on the ebay ben

  • @bennyuk25 Thank you Benny. I made a note regarding both BBC Sessions and How The West Was Won. Those two albums came much later after the passing of John 'Bonzo' Bonham. Even Coda was released in 1982, a few years after Bonzo's death. But I would still put Coda in the official releases because it contained new tracks with John Bonham. I consider Zeppelin 1968 to 1980 as an official working band~ Thanks a lot Ben. Your recent video had some superb vinyl finds~Take care buddy,

    Rob/Boston

  • beautiful colored vinyl Zeppelin vinyl collection! i got all the Classic Records versions except Houses and 4.

  • @dimebagdave77 Hello David~ Thanks, I really appreciate your comment. I am missing In Through The Out Door and BBC Sessions on 200 Gram. You should be quite pleased in owning those Classic pressings. If you go by eBay prices of what they are selling for , you are sitting on a big chunk of record change. The prices on these 200 grams are way to high for the wrong reasons ~. Thanks a lot my friend for your comment~ good to talk with fellow Zeppelin collectors. Have a great weekend~

    Rob/Boston

  • @Paneeks1960 anytime brother! i enjoy talking with enlightened people also.i think your collection is mind blowing! subbed.

  • Mi piace il tuo movie, ma pui mi piace il film con David Johansen.!! I hate itlaian hahahah.

  • 200 gram? wow.

  • @InvaderOfYourHeart Do you have any New York Dolls Pink Vinyl 7"?

  • @Paneeks1960 Nope...which one are you referring to? "Dance Like A Monkey" w/ "Beauty School"?

  • @InvaderOfYourHeart I have a copy of that 7" for you. It is a pretty nice promo 7". Also you speak Italian very fluently~

    Rob/Boston

  • @Paneeks1960 Oh man you rock!

  • @InvaderOfYourHeart And you roll~ Thank you Gus, I appreciate your friendship. You are a good guy and a humorous one at that. Have a great weekend, Rob
