@dunyatebayo Probably because the audience doesn't understand Russian? Maybe it was to at least let the audience understand what the song is about if it's in English? After all, I'm sure the audience never even seen a Japanese anime let along FMA. If you really think that it's "stupid Americans," maybe you're the one stupid? Get over yourself.
@Shadowrunner6969 actually i wanted it to be all in Russian but the teacher wanted me to have the majority in english. we just wanted to sing the song so bad (and for the simple fact it was fullmetal alchemist and our last year there *we were seinors*) we just did what the teacher told us to do and i dont think it came out THAT bad... after we worked so hard, and the lead singer had to learn Russian. i wish people would understand that.
Where might I find the sheet music you used? I would like to do this music for a recital, but I can't find it anywhere. If you could send it to me, I would appreciate it very much.
your not going to be able to find the EXACT sheet music that i used because i altered the song a little bit, switched around a few notes, took out verses because my teacher was SO uber picky about how we preformed this, so i kind of made this my own creation of sorts. though english credit goes to Vic Mignogna. but if i come across something similiar or the origonal version i'll keep you in mind.
idk imo this rendition was OK it's not bad but it's just it lack the emotion as potrayed by the orginal that plus the audio is kinda bad here.
Not like you guys sang terrible or anything.
Plus i think if you guys hand an orchestra to back you up it would help with the emotion part i mean this is just a high school choir can't really ask for that.
Amazing XD!! 6/5 Stars (if that's ever possible)! It's awesome you can get your school's choir to get involve in this kind of creative play based on anime! Do all your choir members love FMA?
i like it, however...where are the harmonies?? Its a choir right, i would have expected it to have atleast a few harmonies in it. I do think the russian solo is a great idea :)
i was trying the same thing as well in my HS but our school has a stupid policy regarding copyrights and stuff. damn.. i explained to them that the english lyrics are not copyrighted BUT they say the score is still.
My high school band played 'One Winged Angel' too XD I was like "OMG!!" lol! XD Cause I wasn't in band. *shifts eyes* We didn't go to the same school did we? >.>
Nice job getting your band to sing Bratja, Brother!! Wish my high school was that cool to sing an FMA song >3> LOVE YOU!!
thank you! it wasnt easy though lemme tell you. singing it was the easy part, but researching ALL the lyrics both english and russian was quite a job to accomplish. I had to listen to the rythem online and match the notes on the music sheet that i printed out. Only one male volunteered to do the solos in Russian. if not for him, it'd be all in english. THANKS DEVON! it adds the element of mix to the song. like i said, a bit trippy but it still sounds good :) or i hope so still... ENJOY ALL!
it was mine. :) i even had to incorperate the words because the sheet music that i found didnt provide the words, so i wrote them in English when i found the words online both in english and in russian. and after re-writing the music quite a few times, this is the result. hope you like it though! and yes it had to be personalized because we couldnt fit in all the song, and the chorus refused to do it ALL in russian.
even though i think its cool you got a whole choir to sing the song, i think this song would do better as a solo or duet that is mixed somewehre in the concert. when you get to many people singing it it ruins the meaning for me.
not what i meant... the russian version, which the solo sang would be better as the choir part... the english version would be better as a solo just because of they way it was written.. still good though i aint a hater =)
where were that??? because is beautiful... i like the sound... interesting open, but good... in english??? jeje, i never hear that song in another language apart the original... mmm, but sounds good!
WOW awesome, There was to much background noice to hear the voices clearly but still it was good. I wonder if half of the singers even know what anime is? LOL By the way it's me yunaofparadise! ^_^
You know the song didn't come from the anime. Or well, it did but it wasn't created for the anime. Very few songs are created just for anime. It's a russain song that some guy turned english.... At least that's what I heard...
ps. Yeah you can't really hear the voices well but the tune with voice at all sounds good anyway ****
That's so cool. You all sound wonderful; I love how you use both Russian and English verses. 'Course, I don't know Russian, but it's pretty. ^_^ RED DAWN! ~flutist
Good job! Did someone explain the story behind it before you sang it? Like what it's from and stuff? And did you give credit to Vic in the program? It's okay if you didn't. I just wonder. GREAT JOB!!!!

Did your chorus teacher like the song?
amyrat151 2 years ago
Very poignant, especially since the song does have some underlying Christian themes when taken beyond Ed & Al.
Then again, the same could be said for the Anime itself, even with its justified railings against the evil of blind faith.
