I found this video while looking for a remote, for a remote control car, that someone with perhaps Cerebral Palsy (having contol over one arm) would find easy to use and fun. I'm wondering can you tell me please, has this technology been developed any further - if so - when and where will it be commercially available?!? Maybe you could get money for research & development from a disability resource organisation, in refining the idea for that specific target market?
@1974stargazer Unfortunately, the project came to a conclusion last year, and no further work has been done on it. It's a pretty simple project to create, however, if you purchase the lego NXT parts.
Interestingly enough, the car's handling was actually worse before we messed with it!--it turned way too quickly, and would usually end up spinning out of control, (especially when we used it with the suction fan on walls). When we added resistors, it slowed the turning (and overall) speed down a bit, which made it a bit more manageable, but still pretty crazy. One thing to note about the car is that it uses infrared signal instead of normal RC signal...

the handling is poor
But, it's really cool idea!
