When I exfolaite I get zits and pimples that look like milia and if I exfoliate long enough, my face will swell up in certain places. later however, those swellings turn into huge pimples. Can someone please tell me why that is? I thought exfoliation was good for the skin and made it look younger???

@MsUa125 maybe the product you used is not suitable for your skin...like for instance lactic acid is too harsh of an ingredient for a lot of people and so makes their skin irritated. Try changing the product you use or perhaps do not make it a habit of exfoliating every day and only exfoliate...once a week??

@loveyourself77 Thanks for the reply. When I did exfoliate, I only did it once a week or twice a week. However, once I get acne/scars from exfoliation, it takes years to go away. Now I know that if you have sensitive skin, you should use a creamy exfoliator not a granular one. I will try that and see how it works.

@MsUa125 what i would advice is usinf honey with some very fine sugar, just a bit of sugar, and if honey has lumps no sugar, but be careful - lumps should be broken down, if it is to hard on you then just use runny honey, it will peel off some dead skin any way, things like cofee and salt I find to hard on skin

Everyone should know that if you have make-up on you need to use make-up remover and then a seperate cleanser! A cleanser and make-up remover in one is as bad as a 2 in 1 shampoo and conditioner LOL! It's actually a surprise to know some people just use a cleanser to take off their make-up and think they have cleaned their skin! That's pretty stupid actually! Make-up remover first, then you cleanse! Toning after that gives you extra cleaning properties!

Try a glycolic peel, as mentioned in the film. These can be done professionally, or weaker ones are available at chemists eg. Roc at Boots.

Also use a gentle astringent (toner) to close pores and tauten the skin, then apply a good moisturiser, as older skin loses elasticity and moisturiser will help replenish it. Olay do a good range for this.
