thistle seed mostly. they've migrated this time of the year (July) so have to wait for their return in November (?).
i bought one bag of "finch seed" which was not thistle - it was a mix but am not sure what was in it. eventually, the larger sparrows discovered my sock feeder and pecked holes in it, spilling everything.
