Pale Ale- Deschutes Mirror Pond. Amber Ale- New Belgium Fat Tire. Stout- Guinness Extra Stout. Lager- Pabst Blue Ribbon. Dark Lager- Michelob Amber Bock. 5 of the BEST.

Hey man, tell us what you ended up drinking tonight! For me I had some moosehead but after 3 i just couldn't stomach anymore for some reason, so i had a bottle of spiced rum and pepsi. Hate to bash beer because i really used to love the stuff, but it's really starting to twist my stomach lately. Hope ya had a good new year!
my friend named her dog Brewster because of his affinity for Budweiser...she also fed my dog beer and my dog loved it...they called my dog "Dude" and my other dog (who didn't like beer) "Old Man" (both were female). I have weird friends...I admit it...
I haven't really been much of a beer drinker for the past few years. My favorite beers are all German. I don't actually have 5 favorites.
1. Dinkel Acker Dark--Sadly, I haven't seen this one stores for years. (no longer shipping to The
States?)
2. Paulaner Hefe-Weizen--This is my favorite of anything I've been able to find lately. What's not to like about a beer with a fat, ugly monk on the label?
3. Hacker-Pschorr Weisse--Like a strong Pilsner, I guess.
4. Spaten Optimator--A strong, dark beer, yet not gross or overwhelming. Wow, I'd suck at writing beer reviews!

BTW, apparently the YouTube Nazis no longer allow us to type "em dashes" in comments. Curly quote were disallowed a few weeks ago. More character restrictions. Before long, just typing "com" won't be allowed, making it impossible to type such words as "COMplicated" or "COMical!"
My #2 was supposed to read "Franziskaner Hefe-Weiss." The one with the drinking monk on the label. (See? I told you I haven't been drinking these beers much lately!) That's the one I recommend if you can't find Dinkel Acker...which I can't. (Oh yeah...we can't use the ellipses character anymore either!) Anyway, it's always fun to experiment with a wide selection of beers. I find that the German imports are always drinkable, so you can't really go wrong.
I've got a couple Warsteiner Dunkels in the fridge. They're actually pretty good. I'm drinking on a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale at the moment. I've got a pretty good buzz going. Expect a video by tomorrow of tonight's footage. It could get interesting. Haha
I haven't even had any alcohol tonight, but all this talk about beer...I might have to chill some German beers that I have left over from the hurricane. (They say that beer was the #3 item purchased by those in the Houston area who were preparing for the hurricane, just after ice and water. Hahaha!)
I;m from canada so im not sure my favs are available to you. 1: Moosehead 2: Alexander Keiths Indian Pale Ale (one of the stronger tasting beers)3: Smirnoff Triple Black (9% alcohol here in canada) 4: CPT Morgan Spiced Rum and Doctor Pepper (MMMMMmmMMm!) 5: Rockstar Vodka (Always drink 1 of these as my first drink, i find it makes my drunk better and faster)
There isnt many australian beers in usa, except forsters, and no actual australian would buy forsters. But a beer that they do sell now, which you could get is Baron. The beers are Barons Lager, Barons Pale Ale, Barons ESB and ale brewed with Australia's native wattle seed called Barons Black Wattle Superior.
Wow, we must have similar tastes in these important matters (beer), as Franziskanner Hefe-weiss was my #1 replacement for Dinkel Acker, which I haven't been able to find in recent years.
I'm more a liquor drinker when I drink...but when I do enjoy a brew...is either MOOSEHEAD (fave), Yuengling Light, or Wicked Petes Strawberry Blonde Ale FTW!! That stuff rocks!
One of my faves is Sleemans no.20 Anniversary ale. Not sure if it's in the States. Sleemans Honey Brown, Alexander Keiths ale, Brewhouse Pilsner (mega, cheap!) Rickards Red.
Yeah, but they're all regional...you gotta hunt for them. Sierra Nevada, Stone, Odells, and New Glarus all make excellent pale ales and IPAs that give Keith's a run for its money.
And that being said, pretty much all the above breweries can go toe to toe with anything Sleeman's has to offer.
I recommend staying away from any beer in which you must add citrus to enjoy. If you add lemon or orange to your hefe, then you need to pick up a tube of vagisil while you're out. I'm just sayin

Olde English 800 . Awesome when you want to feel " gangster " or English :) .
honorable mention - Coors Light . Goes down smooth , is about a dollar a can , and no hangover unless you drink 14 or more . JV
jvforever72 3 years ago
Cool. Thanks for the suggestions.
LuckyStrike502 3 years ago
Busch light is the best cheap beer ever made . 15 dollars for a 30 pack and it's tastes pretty damn good. That's 30c a can.
Then my second fave is Michelob Ultra . Still a good deal at 1 dollar a bottle and it's low carb , can't go wrong .
Bud Select is another great tasting low carb beer , and it's also cheap . I'm seeing a pattern here .
Corona Light . I love the taste and it doesn't give you that bloated feeling that the regular version does . Expensive , so a treat now and then .
jvforever72 3 years ago
Favorite beers? Usually 2nd to 6th!!!
One of my faves is Sleemans no.20 Anniversary ale. Not sure if it's in the States. Sleemans Honey Brown, Alexander Keiths ale, Brewhouse Pilsner (mega, cheap!) Rickards Red.
Not that I drink much, or something!!!
mdebass 3 years ago

LuckyStrike502 3 years ago
They don't export those to the states at all. I've tried finding them since I was last in BC about 4 years ago.
DILLIGAF333 3 years ago
Bummer! Keiths & Sleemans are especially tasty! Any Stateside brew compare tastewise?
mdebass 3 years ago
Yeah, but they're all regional...you gotta hunt for them. Sierra Nevada, Stone, Odells, and New Glarus all make excellent pale ales and IPAs that give Keith's a run for its money.
And that being said, pretty much all the above breweries can go toe to toe with anything Sleeman's has to offer.
