Great guy. I played with him in a band at Appalachian State for a year. The age difference broke us up. Me and the bass player were Seniors (22) and he was a sophomore (20). Buy the album! Buy Crooked fingers, Eric's solo, and Archers of Loaf. It's all great stuff.
Yeah, an epic poet w/ such diversity. I was so bummed when the archers split albeit the aftermath is equally as powerful. It is just in another direction yet always from the gut and heart. Thx to all @ saddle creek for their continued efforts to keep music alive. Evol, phesoj
Eric, I miss those Loaf years and that chainsaw energy you guy's blasted out, but it's a real treasure to see you continue your work and to hear what the years have carved out. Hope to hear more!
I love all Erics songs but this is definetly my 2nd fave!
Little birds my first XD
And to the comment under me, i like the rolling wheat fields! reminds me of a program i watched about someone going to see where his grandad died in WW2 and the trenches are all crop fields now. they were finding things in the feild like buttons and buckles just standing there talking. it was sad :(
This song is rich and has so many levels. The video doesn't do this justice and doesn't tell the story at all. Who sets this in a field? Rolling wheat doesn't come to mind
I doubt Eric even bothers using a computer to read these messages... but, if you're reading this, I just wanted you to know that I was piss-pants nervous when I walked up to you at World Cafe in Philly on that Josh Ritter tour. Thanks for taking the time to talk to a nerdy indie-rock kid in his early 20s... your music is my rock.
Very nice photography. I like the choice of composition during your shots. Also the editing was good because, for the most part, your cuts went unnoticed. There were one or two that seem abrupt like with cut with the dirty window or mirror in the beginning. What camera did you use, it looks like the Sony XD cam or a Panasonic HVX 200. Thanks for uploading it. My bros. Tony and James and I listened to this song driving down highway 12 on the outer banks off the coast of N. Carolina. Thanks

@wbegg1 Since when do band members all need to be the same age?

Eric is at least 8 feet tall and can dead lift a Chrysler.

@kurthshoemaker He does appear rather tall, but otherwise your post sucks.

How tall is Mr. Archer of Loaf?

This is true art, unlike the crap being spewed out th by mass produced talentless bands we so often see.
