The sea snake won't harm you Steve irwin handled one and it didn't mind what so ever if your gentle with a snake then it is less likely to attack you. However there are complete wankers out there who hurt the snake by grabbing it hard around between it's head and throat hopefully one day you will be bitten and serves you right.
i agree babe4fish13, but there are some good dive story sites on the net too. Try the myscubastory site. They have real life dive stories and dive accident videos. Put myscubastory into google, and its the first result.
I uses to play with these as a kid in Suva...put them around my neck a few times etc
wouldn`t do it now at 45 though but then hey...i was only a kid and was told its ok,they are harmless...i never got bitten...
I believe they are called DUN DUN DA LA GI`S excuse the wrong spelling but its roughly how it is pronounced in Fijian..good luck...Fiji Isa! ni sa bulla
I had one of those snakes on my head while snorkling. I could feel it but I just thought it was floating debries. When I stood up on the reef and seen it though my mask, I realized what it was and chucked it as far as I could haha. I had no Idea how dangerous it was!! I got lucky!
The incredible thing is that it is almost exactly the same like a normal snake, I wonder how evolution got snakes to breath under water... truly amazing
i duno how people filming can be soooo close to it.. i'd be so fucking scared wouldn't even be able to go even in eye sight of it.. fuck if that shit attacks you your doooonnnee especially being so far under water Lol NOO thankss
is this an actual sea snake taken from your own camera and not tv? cause if it is you are brave!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and who knew SEA snakes could be venomous i thought they would be non venomous casue they are beautiful and they look harmless and docile
@Mohamedahmed331 Most sea snakes are rather docile; you can watch them and be near them and they pose little threat. Bites are rare and the snake actually passing enough venom to be harmful is rarer still. I've seen plenty on dives; just like any other marine animal, all you have to do is keep your distance and don't touch/provoke it and it will ignore you.
this snake is not the most venomous snake in the world, it may be one of them but it's not the #1 in the world...the #1 most venomous snake in the world is the Fierce Snake or known as the Inland Taipan from Australia... 50x more potent than a cobra, one bite can kill 100 people, also its the most deadliest...just giving my 2 cents and sharing info
@Swflann The most venomous snake on earth is the Belcher's Sea Snake (Hydrophis Belcheri) or the Faint Banded Sea Snake, some consider the Inland Taipan (Oxyuranus microlepidotus) an/or the Beaked Sea Snake (Enhydrina schistosa) to be the most toxic, however, with recent and more accurate studies 2010 prove the Belcheri has a 100 times more toxic venom then the two above or any other snake on earth.
I was looking these up, because I now live in Guam and was snorkeling, and saw one swimming between my husbands legs!! He argued with me that they were not poison! Nice video by the way :)
i also live in guam and i saw one when i was snorkeling today. it seemed to be unaware of my presence or just ignoring me...scary though! highly poisonous
I really don't think they're likely to "attack" you, unless you start grabbing at it or otherwise being stupid, so don't be scared; just chill and watch how he moves. (I wouldn't mind living in Guam for a while.)
When I was scuba diving in Japan, I pulled on one of these snake's tail - not knowing they are poisonous. Lucky for me I didn't get bit. It just swam away.
Since their bite is ten times more toxic than that of the King Cobra, then not most people would have died but all of them. By the way they are not aggressive towards humans, in some places children play with them every day ;)
Yeah everyone else would probably die from dat, but not me. I'm very strong and in incredible shape. I used to wrestle bears, I dont want to boast, but lets just say the bears didnt come out on top.
Same here dude, I actually got bitten by about 40 of them simultaneously....Needless to say, I am actually a world class olympian and my skin is 40 times tougher and stronger then that of a natural human being. I'm also a ffilm star and one of the best singers in the world, oh and I play as a striker for Real Madrid...............................
Yeah i hear ya bro. You actually sound a bit like my little brother, he's got a long way to go before he gets anywhere near my level, but he's a far more advanced human than almost everyone else
but they aint going stop me from swimimg on the beach i have been piched by crabs 3 feet long steped on sea urchins huge 5 feet long jellies stung me but i still swim in the ocean just dont go near them they are more afraid of you they will try to swim away asap if they see you
sea snakes are the most deadly snake in the world lol it's poisen is 10x as toxic as that of a cobra if one does bite you (very unlikly to happen) you would most likly die. lol i watched a documentary on them lol.
So pretty....I heard that if you hold them by the tail...cause they have flat ended tails...it makes it harder for them to curl up and bite you. At least that what Steve Irwin taught me. =) RIP
when my family and i went to fiji we all went snorkeling and my brother went off with the unerwater camera and he took a picture. when he came back he showed us and we all called him an idiot because he couldve got bitten and we lectured he in the water on how he didnt listen to the fijian guy who told us what to be careful of.
one of the most venimouse snakes in the world you gise have some guts to go against that but there you go its not that snakee that likes to waist venom it wont bite will it?
Sea snakes rarely bite. They are quite inquisitive and have been known to swim with divers & around them, checking them out so to speak. You would actually have harm it for it to bite back
Descended from cobras. A paddle for a tail. Extremely slow on land. All 50 types of sea snake (or sea krait) are poisonous. Interesting, but very dangerous snake. I know of three types: the olive sea snake, the banded sea snake and the yellow lipped sea krait. Animal Planet rules like what, yo. LOL.
The sea snake won't harm you Steve irwin handled one and it didn't mind what so ever if your gentle with a snake then it is less likely to attack you.
