The sea snake won't harm you Steve irwin handled one and it didn't mind what so ever if your gentle with a snake then it is less likely to attack you. However there are complete wankers out there who hurt the snake by grabbing it hard around between it's head and throat hopefully one day you will be bitten and serves you right.

I uses to play with these as a kid in Suva...put them around my neck a few times etc

wouldn`t do it now at 45 though but then hey...i was only a kid and was told its ok,they are harmless...i never got bitten...

I had one of those snakes on my head while snorkling. I could feel it but I just thought it was floating debries. When I stood up on the reef and seen it though my mask, I realized what it was and chucked it as far as I could haha. I had no Idea how dangerous it was!! I got lucky!

@Mohamedahmed331 Most sea snakes are rather docile; you can watch them and be near them and they pose little threat. Bites are rare and the snake actually passing enough venom to be harmful is rarer still. I've seen plenty on dives; just like any other marine animal, all you have to do is keep your distance and don't touch/provoke it and it will ignore you.

this snake is not the most venomous snake in the world, it may be one of them but it's not the #1 in the world...the #1 most venomous snake in the world is the Fierce Snake or known as the Inland Taipan from Australia... 50x more potent than a cobra, one bite can kill 100 people, also its the most deadliest...just giving my 2 cents and sharing info

@Swflann The most venomous snake on earth is the Belcher's Sea Snake (Hydrophis Belcheri) or the Faint Banded Sea Snake, some consider the Inland Taipan (Oxyuranus microlepidotus) an/or the Beaked Sea Snake (Enhydrina schistosa) to be the most toxic, however, with recent and more accurate studies 2010 prove the Belcheri has a 100 times more toxic venom then the two above or any other snake on earth.

When I was scuba diving in Japan, I pulled on one of these snake's tail - not knowing they are poisonous. Lucky for me I didn't get bit. It just swam away.

Since their bite is ten times more toxic than that of the King Cobra, then not most people would have died but all of them. By the way they are not aggressive towards humans, in some places children play with them every day ;)

sea snakes are the most deadly snake in the world lol it's poisen is 10x as toxic as that of a cobra if one does bite you (very unlikly to happen) you would most likly die. lol i watched a documentary on them lol.

Sea snakes rarely bite. They are quite inquisitive and have been known to swim with divers & around them, checking them out so to speak. You would actually have harm it for it to bite back

Descended from cobras. A paddle for a tail. Extremely slow on land. All 50 types of sea snake (or sea krait) are poisonous. Interesting, but very dangerous snake. I know of three types: the olive sea snake, the banded sea snake and the yellow lipped sea krait. Animal Planet rules like what, yo. LOL.
