Best way (for me at least) to reach Reptile in Arcade MK1...

#1: Set up a 2 Player game (but I'm the only 1 playing).

#2: Do 3 VS matches in a row (3rd should be at The Warrior Shrine)

#3: When the 3rd match is over, let timer run out (you'll now be in 1 Player mode & at The Pit)

If I see a shadow fly across the moon, kick the CPU's ass (hopefully with Double Flawless) & do a Fatality.

If I don't see a shadow, I start up a new 2 Player game & repeat the steps above until I do.

Here's how I reach Reptile on Arcade MK1 (MK D Premium Pack Disc 2 & MK AK).

Start a 2 Player game & play 3 matches in a row.

On 3rd match, you'll be at The Warrior Shrine. Kick the shit out of your opponent & let the Continue Timer run out.

In 1 Player match, you'll be at The Pit. If you don't see shadows fly across the moon start a new 2 Player game & repeat the process.

If you see shadows beat your opponent without blocking, get Double Flawless & do your fighter's Fatality (not stage).

The only way to find the secret character Reptile in 1-Player tournament game is by following those clues: Be at "The Pit" stage. Just so while shadows are flying across the moon, You might always wanna win 2 perfect rounds (a "Double Flawless Victory") and do the fatality on CPU's opponent at the end of the round.

Then, defeat Reptile at the bottom of the pit once and for all.

Once You’ve performed a finishing move on Reptile, You’ll get an extra big bonus 10 million points!

@rockmarp It wasn't until the SNES version that the life bar text was changed. Reptile is a fusion of both Sub-Zero and Scorpion. Blue + Yellow = Green. There's some history behind the Reptile thing.
