  • Honestly, I prefer the tone of Metheny's Ibanez PM35 here than the Gibson ES-175. Feel free to label me an heretic, but so be it.

  • Pat is a super sized talent ! I have seen his ex band mates Pedro in NYC and Danny Gottlieb on drums Live,Pedro is awesome and Danny played the drums like a master,he need to play again with Pat.......Danny is in a class by himself !

  • 0:50 shiver

  • The perfect crime

  • 44 with hemiola bass line

  • Wonderful! Thank you!

  • awesome!

  • a complete trio. i love this.

  • Does anybody know the names of all the artist and the instruments that they are playing in this song?Composer? The name of this place where they are playing at?

  • @Del76Toro Antonio Sanchez - Drums Christian McBride - Bass and of course Pat Metheny - Guitar

  • He is rally great!!

    Thank you so much,domebatero!!

  • 3/8 or 7/4? 3/8 against 7/4- beware of the sneaky Greeks. They are So clever. They buit the Pathenon ya know-

  • Muito Bom!!! from Brasil.

  • Genius

  • This is a spectacular trio and a great song. I show this show live at the Boca Raton Arts Festival. MARAVILLOSO!!!

  • Nothing less than ethereal...

  • this guys pretty dam good

    im a fan now :))

  • Genio e Raffinatezza. Grazie maestro

  • this song is too cool

  • i guess Pat likes Sanchez so much because he pays like a Jazzier Paul Wertico, but dang, I prefer him with his older trio with Stewart and Grenadier: Things were much more daring then, creatively.

  • i much prefer this trio myself.

  • haha, I'm a bit sleepy and read "I much prefer this trio to myself" and thought "heck I'd rather listen to this trio over myself any day" hehe. But anyway I really like this version better than the album version myself, it's amazing :)

  • what picking techniques does he use here?

  • he has admitted to his "poor" picking technique. when he was growing up thats how he learned to hold the pick cause the only picks he had available to him were big ones. whatever though, it works for him.

  • This is Beautiful!!! Thanks so much for posting:)

    Grandma Mary

  • nunca escuche esta version,gracias!

  • This is the version he did when i saw him in Boca Raton FL last year. Can't wait to see pat again!!!

  • yeah !!!!!!!!!! one of the best trios of the planet at this moment

  • theres's a thrill

  • Does remind me a little of Kenny Burrel....love this song.

  • Please upload " all the things you are" with Jim hall, on legends of jazz

  • wow who tunes that thing

  • Pat employs an octopus that was a friend of his from high school. The only reason he bought that instrument was too give his old friend a job!

  • Pat is better than Chuck Norris

  • Be that as it may, It could be due to the strained budget for the type of action movies he does. I'm referring to Pat, not Chuck!

  • wow!, many comments, thanx guys.

please, look for "ciudad antena" and let us know what you think.

    wow!, muchos comentarios, gracias muchachos.

por favor busquen "ciudad antena" y digannos que piensan.

  • metheny's music is multi-faceted even in the simplest and minimal setting, every passage speaks well to the soul

  • Can you believe I heard the song sometime in the 80ties and it stuck in my ear for 20 years until I finally listened my way through all PM albums (I'm not a jazz fan) to find it? Amazingly catchy melody.

  • Yes I can believe you because I heard this in early 2000 and though it hasn't been 20 years I've had to do the same as you.

  • Fantastic, so amazing that I can hardly say that sound of the picasso guitar doesn't belong any culture.

  • Wow, just fantastic. I'd love to see more from this same show if possible.

  • Muchas gracias domebatero, un gran video.

    Saludos :)
