JLA is really ran by both Superman and Batman and the Avengers is really ran by Ironman and later grew to be Ironman and Captain America. Cyclops is too far down on the list. If only cartoons are your source...even there Cyclops is the greatest leader in the Marvel Universe.
I am slightly troubled by the inclusion of Wolverine (who states several times that he is no leader and does not act like one) and Hal Jordan, who did not lead anything. Top leaders should actually ... you know, lead something and not just have the capabilities to.
I'm also shocked that Xavier is nowhere in this list. Really? The founder of the X-men who has been their mentor and leader from the very start not on this list, but Wolverine is? Makes no sense. Black Widow should be Oracle, imo.
Not a bad list but would have cyclops up there next to Captain America. He's been the leader of the X-men from the beginning and does a great job. Batman isn't a leader, he isn't a team player and prefers to work alone. Wolverine also doesn't have the right temperament to be a leader
@Ashiwel27 Erm, hello? Professor X? Cyclops is the field commander and second in charge. Xavier is the leader and founder of the team. Without him, they wouldn't even exist. I do agree that Cyclops is a good leader and probably deserves a spot, but I find his choice to have both Wolverine and Cyclops on this list (both of them X-men) and leave our Prof X. That's just not right.
And no Oracle. More power to the leaders in wheelchairs!!
@Xylarxcode I take it you have read nothing recently? Cyclops is not only leader of the X-Men, but most mutants too. When Professor X died he became that guy, even when Professor X was brought back to life he still was.
@TR1TE077 As you said, that's recently. Professor X has MORE then enough history to be on this list, probably even higher up then Cyclops.
I only said that Cyclops was second in charge, because that's true for most of the continuity and has only changed recently. I also mentioned that he does deserve a spot on the list, but come on. You can't possibly include Cyclops and leave out Prof X. Prof X created the team and lead them for who knows how many years. More then Cyclops, that's for sure.
robins a good leader but i prefer batman cyclops is a leader on missions is sasquach a good hero in alpha flight you said cyclops is the leader you said hal jordan instead of green lantern
While it makes some sense that Bats should be leading the justice league, Bats himself would turn it down. Think about it. It would mean that he couldn't be to himself as he prefers, which is key to Bat's skills as a crimefighter.. Plus, with him not leading the justice league he is able to to keep an eye on everyone (including superman).
Good video, Thx for postin this up. Now my coments about it: 1) Black Widow: Generally hasn t been a leader, mostly a solo heroine or paired with Daredevil, 2) Wolverine: The ultimate loner, good for back-up, but not a good leader. 3) The Guardian: he hasn t been a relevant leader on Alpha Flight History, he died on issue 12 of the original series, I know he came back but the leadership on alpha has been managed mostly by his wife Heather, (Aka Vindicator, or Guardian).
surely superman has higher intellect then batman, as he gains superior intellect just through being a kryptonian?, there are countless comics and also in movies where he has genius level intellect due to his kryptonian heritage...
Batman is a beater leader tactical wise but superman is more respected and liked. Batman doesnt attach to the members he shows no emotion of care to them but superman does that why he is the leader.
@holmes15688 I agree with you, but Batman cares a lot for his massive Bat-Family, including , Robin , Red Robin, Nightwing, Batgirl( there are several), Azrael, Alfred, Huntress, etc. If he doesnt lead JLA is because DC wants to keep his tough guy attitude, which sells a lot of comics.
Wha....!??!?!?Wolverine better then Cyclops and there is no Storm or Professor X!?!?!? I like the fact that you have Vindicator from Alpha Flight. That team is always forgotten but, at the end of the day, is a solid, consistent team. Batman a better leader then Superman? I'm not too sure about that. But I'm glad the Black Panther is on here. He is a great leader. I'd put Mr. Fantastic higher up the list. GL should not be on this list since he is not a leader though.
@visceralguy Well everybody has a opinion and thats yours......but i agree with this list did Superman other than beating people's ass solve any problems for the JL is he smarter than Batman,NO Batman should have been the Leader but because of most fans of the DC comics love Superman and they are never gonna do that.Cyclops to me IMO was a ok leader Storm was better and yeah i'll take Wolverine anyday over Scott Summers......but this IMO though.
No Oracle? She leads an entire team of heroes from a wheelchair.
As for Batman I always thought he was more the man behind the curtain letting Supes have the official role while he did the actual work. Helps when they try to take out the leader and are shooting the invunerable guy instead of the guy that bleeds. Supes is the figurehead
And by the way, Batman should be like the general of the JL, he is a tactitian, but he isnt fit for a leader role, its not part of his dark persona character. BTW I'm a bigger fan of Batman than Sups
Superman 5th position?? and not much of a leader?? hmm, guess I misread Zero Hour, you know when He collected and lead all DC's heros, or the crossover with the fantastic 4, or Kingdom Come that shows what happened to the world and it's heros and decendants when Superman exiled and they lost the leading figure, or what about the Justice league, or etc etc etc
wow u missed Warlock how do u think thanos was taken down,,, no one else could do it,,,, and I mean no one or god or high enity could do it,,, u need help
Batman sux as a leader. He put Robin in bright ass clothes like a sitting duck. Batman is in dark clothes. Bad leader. I hate Cyclops, but he should b #2 after Cap.
are you basing your facts on wolverine in the comics or that show wolverine and the x-men because cyclops takes command of the Xavier institute and x-men when professor x is gone and he also found a way to beat the dark avengers (not easy since they had sentry and Aries) i dont even think wolverine has ever led in the comics i think the only reason he led was because of demand for wolverine (everything else is fine i dont even think wolverine has ever even led the x-men in the comics)
@Jashro4 he led when both xavier and storm were missing back in the 80's. Did a good job too, led them even when they all got killed by the god of trickery and had to be reincarnated-- he even had them hiding under the radar in Australia while everyone else in the world thought the Xmen were dead, and the place came complete with its own personal teleporter who would zap them wherever they wanted to go. They were kind of like a stealth team ready to strike at a moments notice.
@StashBurners Gotta' agree with you. Cyclops is a leader. Storm is a leader. Wolverine is a leader. Jean Grey even leads from the mansion at times. Charles is THE leader who they all must answer to. Extremely powerful as well. Remember Onslaught?
@Dramactica ok heres a superman comic i stand in front of you with queer dialog for 9 pages then 9 more with my hands on my hips i don't die cause i'm really god in a costume and i save the day with one finger sounds like a AWSOME COMIC to me -_-
