Prahlad was ot a Brahmin. Druva Maharaj was not a brahmin. King Ambarisa was not a brahmin and Durvasa Muni (a brahmin) had to flee Sri Visnu's cakra because of offending him. Not even lord Visnu could save Durvasa, only Ambarisa could. JadBharat's story is an even better example of this.

The pride often in the heart of a brahmin make them less able to experience true bhava. The caste system only applies to the material, i.e. the body, mind and inteligence. However the platform of a true Rasika is not material but spiritual, just like the atma of a sudra. Therefore a sudra may be qualified to teach a brahmin a thing or two. This is evidenced in the many adventures of Narad Muni.

@curiousmoron Sir, Dr.Sirgazhi S.Govindarajan or Dr.Madurai Somasundaram were not  awarded with the Sangeetha Kalanidhi from the Music Academy, Chennai .Are they not qualified for the same?

Also, do you think Chowdiah, Valayapatti Subramanyam, Sheik Chinna Moulana were any less great because they were non-Brahmins?
