This was the theme song to Yasmin, a character from a 1992 Brazilian soap opera played by Daniella Perez. Daniella was brutally murdered by her colleague Guilherme de Pádua, who played Yasmin's boyfriend. The soap hadn't finished yet when the murder happened, and this song came to be associated to Daniella Perez to this day. That's why it sounds so haunting to many Brazilians. (BTW, the fourth video from the bottom of the list of related videos here is about Daniella)
