How good was Senna. In his first pole, with a clear inferior car, as Lotus [competitive but less than the powerful McLaren and Williams] Ayrton was near .413s faster than the 2nd : Prost in McLaren. In 10 laps he gain 1s per lap faster than the 2nd place

The 1985 Ferrari was a good car too, it nearly won Alboreto the title. He led for a long time in the point standings that year.

The Lotus was ok, but not as good as the McLaren-TAG or Ferrari. The Williams-Honda didn't really become the best car until the end of the season, when they sorted out a lot of problems with it.

25 YEARS OLD!!!! I know F1 is easier when you're young. Since you're not so aware of your mortality and your reactions are sharp. But Senna is a BABY here. It's hard to think of him winning a race in F1 when he's younger than I am now (27) especially since I think of him like an uncle or a big brother.

That car of Lotus Renault seasons of 1985-1986 was for sure one of the most beautiful in the history of F1, and the most beautiful in which Ayrton Senna piloted.

i agree, when I was 13 I was cheering for #12. Had no idea who it was. Today, he is still my hero and when I think Of Senna I will always see him in gold pinstrips. RIP

I disagree. The Lotus was beautiful, but the McLaren of 1988 (MP4/4) was even prettier. I have a giant 4m x  6m painting of him on my wall.

Senna was quicker than Prost in the qualification by near .413, set the fastest lap by near .800s ...he was the rainmaster
