Recently for those who have not yet stayed with current situation in Georgia, there has been a huge change of attitude of Georgian people towards Shakashvili. Thousands took to the streets a couple of months ago in Tbilisi to demand Shakashvili to step down. Yet it seems he's so power hungry he is once again rearming his military thanks to NATO and I believe is preparing for another war in retaliation against Russia. Of course we all know no matter what he has already sealed his fate.

I like Bush as a man but his intel on the conflict was to say the least flawed. You cant step a foot into Georgia without being considered a breach of sovereign soil w/e. It is imperative to understand that Russia's actions was a response to the killings of its own peacekeepers by Georgian military on the night of the opening of Olympics. Russia gave Georgia a chance to back down, Georgia refused and Russia was forced to initiate search and destroy missions.

This of course consisted of Russian tank regiments because even though Russia is bigger and stronger they are not stupid and they needed a way to end the conflict even if it meant scaring the Georgians to surrender. The tactic worked and the Georgians got so worked up they started claiming that Russia was invading, they were on their way to Gori and Tbilisi...all of which proved to be false. May this be an example of information war as well, media had a lot to do with misinformation.
