it wouldn't be too hard to use some 2x4's to force a curve on the plywood, then put foam padding over the boards so you don't catch yourself on any nails or splinters, then cover it all with plastic sheeting. Then you can put some PVC pipe along the sides at the top and poke holes in them so you can flow water down it.
Stirling engine heated by the magnifying glass and cooled by the water would be awesome. Those always impress me but dont know how much torque they actually produce.
Jamie your place is better than thing I have seen before. The way it keeps evolving really inspires me. I intend to find my piece of wilderness one day and implement many of the ideas you have shown. Thanks. 5*
Pennies are only about 2.5% copper, they are now mostly zinc to reduce costs. Zinc melts at less than 800 degrees F.
The funny thing is, that for the past couple of years it once again costs more to make a penny than one cent. So the government issued a ban on melting pennies to protect them from people looking to harvest the metal. Watch out JME or you might get fined $10,000!
The internet failed me. I actually looked up the melting point of a penny because I assumed it was some sort of alloy rather than pure copper. Oh well.
The end made me laugh. haha I love watching your vids Jaimie! I wish i was your little brother... I would totally be into building stuff. I'm taking Engineering my Freshman year of high school but it would be more educational just hanging out with you all day. haha
The magnifying glass is the prototype laser weapon for your giant robot, isn't it?
