  • Thank you for the tips. I was given a "bad" yellow top by a friend because he could not get it to recharge. I tried to charge it myself also but it would not, so to clear out the garage I gave it to my local parts store a few months ago. After seeing this video, I went down there tonight and they still had the battery in the back. So I grabbed it up and headed straight home to try to recharge it per the parallel battery charging method. It's working! Thanks for this helpful video; take care.

  • ~Xlnt info. on resuscitating AMG-type batteries such as Optima & Odyssey. Was using a nifty microprocessor-controlled 12v/Vector-'Smart-charger to maintain and desulfate old bat's. (-w/handy dead bat. 75amp-Starting feature!), --yet after about 6mos. it expired (-digital screen 'blank', no internal-fuse, --instant costly junk!!). Black&Decker bought-out Vector-charger wouldn't honor replacing it, so have just ordered a new like #VEC1095ABD, -trusting B&D will back their product better now..!?!

  • ~Have three Optima Car-batteries, and the spool-wound construction is Xlnt., -yet seems they're not performing as well since made in Mexico (-likely a quality-control issue). Accordingly, i purchased a Vector 'Smart' Bat.-charger, was able to bring a dead Optima/AMG-battery back into service! But after 6-mos the Vector-charger suddenly quit, and Black&Decker (the new Mfg.) would'nt replace it; -thus i've just ordered a new B&D-'Smart'-charger, trusting they now back their product properly.!!

  • Tried the OptiMate 6 I bought that is also good for AGM batteries, it's fully automatic, I'm no tech guy, so I like that there no buttons I have to select and I don't have to figure out what kind of charge the battery needs. The OptiMate figured out by itself the battery was low in volts and brought it back to life.

  • Thank You, Thank You, Thank You! I have had a heck of time keeping my batteries charged in my truck, I simply do not drive it enough. Your tip fixed my problem with the dead battery issue. I also like that you solidified the CTEK question that I had about buying a battery maintainer. Also, nice garage!

  • This helped me a lot! thank you so much for posting.
