i dont get why they want to replace the old voices. imagine every voice in tf2 changed it just would not be the same...

We need to expand the voice set in general and to give each class a unique set of voices and sounds, thus it requires we replace the voices, many of the old voices are reused just rerecorded with the new voice actors

HK definitely doesn't match the quality of the others. The current HK voice actor is great

I assume the voices are extra frequent for the video. It would be very annoying if they spoke that often in actual game play. 1/3 of that frequency be good

Gestir is very well done! His voice fits his age/personality (or what I would think it would be) perfectly.

The Skirmisher, while he sounds fine, needs to be toned down just a little bit. I think he would get annoying after a while with yelling those lines.

HK sounds more like an announcement over an intercom than an actual person talking. The original knight voice would go well with him, with tweaks made to get that echo sound right.

Overall though, it's definitely a major improvement! Nice!

HK sounds like he's still a squire inside that helmet; the original knight voice would have went perfectly with a slightly toned-down version of the helmet/reverb filter

And the Gestir doesn't have that bloodthirsty sound to him anymore, sure he's a grizzled war veteran but that doesn't make him any less of a GODDAMNED VIKING RAUUHRGRGHGH

the voice of the archer is amazing and so is the one of the gestir but the voice of the skirmisher gets annoying rather fast

and for the knight he should have a french accent just because 1. french accents are funny 2. because most folks would enjoy it since it brings even more differcity between all the characters

I think the HK oughta have a touch of French accent in his voice, and more color, more passion.

My opinion on the vikings' voices is that they _don't have to_ sound like they have throat cancer. I think the accent counts the most, thus you should hire eg a scandinavian to do their voices.

I resent the idea of having "your god didn't save you then"-type taunts upon killing knights.. If I was you, I'd withdraw such taunts from the update and thus avoid offending any players with religious views.

@Kaarle15 1. The Heavy Knight isn't French, the Man At Arms is. 2. The Huscarl sounds less grizzled than the 'zerker and gestir and is voiced by a Norwegian. The gestir is old, that's why he sounds like he 'has throat cancer'. 3. It's not real.

Neat but quite frankly I think the time doing all this coding and voiceover work could have been better spent on working on the remaining classes? Where the heck are the Man-At-Arms and Sharpshooter? Why is the ratio of classes still 2-2-3?

Shouldn't the focus be on getting all the gameplay elements ingame THEN polishing it?

The Gestir and the Skirmisher sound pretty cool (Skirmy's songs get really annoying fast though), but the knight is kinda hard to hear. I know he's supposed to sound like he's in a metal helmet but the echoes are still a bit too much. Plus, he sounds rather emotionless, like he's just reading his lines from a piece of paper. Can't wait for the finished update XD

i just wish that if they are goign to give the viking a accent when he says veakling he needs to be talking with that accent more and maybe not so gruff hes just teh gestir not the berserker.... afterall we all know that huscarls and gestirs are just the kids who weren't strong enough to be berserkers
