  • what year model is that jeep liberty?

  • Comment removed

  • It was fun doing that trail .I didn't hold anyone up anymore than any other stock or lightly modified jeep on that trail . The others on that run were quit impressed at how well the stocker liberty did. Yes the liberty is not a out of the box monster mudder or rocker but with the lift and tires now on it it is an allround fun offroader that does trails that i take it on with no problem.

  • Wish my liberty was 4x4. My mama got the 2 wheel drive version and it ended up being my first jeep. Really want that 4x4.

  • Hey Jeff This is identical to my Liberty but mine is an 06 and the only1 on the west coast with the Rubicon package.... The first owners before us stuck a airlift adjustable air suspension system and 6 sizes bigger tires then stock... Hope to come do this trail with you's... It looks like fun and possible for me in 2x... My liberty barely ever see's 4 wheel unless it's really sketchy.... Cheers hope to see you's soon...... Brent

  • @Bentsford Awesome Brent, it would be great to have you come wheel with us!! I look forward to seeing your Jeep!!

    Cheers!

    Jeff

  • @Bentsford

Rubicon Liberty lol. So your on 245's?

  • @Twitchy380Magnum No actually we have a 2" drop front end and 1.5 - 7" inch above stock height airbag system running on 285's or the equivalant to 32's....

  • @Bentsford Sweet I would love to see some pictures of the setup, are you from the Maritimes? My 04' KJ Limited is getting close to done now with the Solid Axle Swap 6" of lift and 35's. I have never seen a Libby with an AirBag setup I think that sounds pretty cool, you can find my Build on the NS Jeep Club site under Jeep Builds. I was running a pretty custom OME Setup @ 5.5" lift with the IFS and 33" X-Terrains with some rubbing issues and alot of CV shaft replacing before the big swap began.

  • @Twitchy380Magnum I've been trying to upload a pic to my channel but it keeps cutting off the bottom of them...lol I was living on the other coast but moved to the prairies for better work and better pay.... I will be doing another Video. If you'd like to see the before the Winch bumper and after pics you could always add me to Facebook and you'll see the Libby on my profile pic.... Brent Cornish Check out my pic's and i've put a couple vids of me being crazy on my channel...

  • great video!! :D

  • i have old ass 1946 willys jeep that would love to that with

  • @mowat440 Look for local Jeep clubs (or 4X4 clubs) in your area, I'm sure they would love to have you go out with them..

    Cheers!

    Jeff

  • @kellybolin Why, thank you! :) Cheers!!

  • @kellybolin Still better than a CRV :)~

  • wow that was a very nice run. i also have a kj its 4x2 and i still go wheeling but common courtesy is to stay in the back so everyone else can go. but yours did really well. keep it up. and like everyone else is saying put a lift and good tires and you will be surprised how many places you can go!!!

  • Awsome video and I was really impressed at what a stock liberty can do! Oh and I LOVED the beautiful shepherd in the begining of the vid!

  • @cfltitan Thank you!!

    Happy trails!

    Jeff

  • take that shit back to the mall!

  • jeeps are awsomeee, street tires, still kicking mud wuuu thumbs up!

  • needs a lift and tires

  • If your goin to buy a jeep for offroading this it not the jeep you want now if your just drivin around town it's perfect

  • @troyatl68 In stock form the Liberty isn't that great for technical trails, but with a bit of fine tuning they'd be great for light wheeling duty; and if a person is ambitious they could take the time and do a SAS and have a vehicle comparable to the XJ...

  • @troyatl68 If you put a lift kit, winch, and about 31 inch All terrains or mud rovers this liberty would do just as good as any cherokee

  • @farmerjonjd It'd actually be a little better. I took my stock 03 liberty out with a bunch of modified 4x4s including a 5 spd cherokee with a 4 inch lift with 31x10.50s and had no trouble what so ever on some things that they had a good bit of trouble on. The liberty's stock airbox being at the top of the core support actually made me the guinea pig for crossing creeks due to the high placement of it.

  • its better than a more capable vehicle leads the other cars , if you have a stock liberty leading everybody loses a lot of time and could be difficult to winch it if the trail is narrow

  • @PirateJeep Just a newer power wagon, and only then if the tree's don't get to tight! My Jeep is a '79 CJ7 and i love it! Probably not as good riding as yours, but with the 304, it is a fun ride!

  • Pretty good for a stocker.

  • wife just bought an 02 liberty, im excited to see how well it does......

  • Dude that thing wasn't even 4x4. It's pussy was showing.

  • I just bought an 06 liberty, about a week ago. So I really havent had the chance to four wheel it, it seems like in this video you were kinda holding everyone up. Did it do as good as the wranglers?

  • @Explicitboss91 so does your Mama but we don't announce it Youtube...you poor kid!

  • @Explicitboss91 you suck haha

  • jeep is only one! O|||||O

  • That liberty seems to be doing good since you said it has street tires in this clip. I've been thinking about getting a Wrangler, from the late 90's or early 2000's. Looks like all those wranglers behind you were modified.

  • people like this are a burden on a trail ride though ,no tellin what the hell they might tear up ,like the libertys though I think theyr nice little all weather vehicles but I dont think chrysler had this in mind for em,thats a wranglers place.

  • See this tires bf goodrich mud terrain km2 this tires aré excellent in mud, the súper swamper bogger the best tires in mud this tires aré not good in snow and the mickey thompson baja claw

  • Hey can anyone help me. I have a trail rated jeep liberty with 17 inch rims but with road tires. I am really looking for some nice off road tires i believe that a 15 inch would be better for off roading and there are more tire choices for that size. So my question is what kind of tires would you recommend and what kind of rims. Thank you for your help.

  • The stock Liberty tires were NOT good off road. Most people were just using them to get through light snow so Chrysler decided to put quieter tires on instead of the more aggressive tires that were noisy. I swapped mine at 25000 for General AT and those things bite.......

  • where is this trail?

  • *facepalm*Open diff means one wheel spins, the other does NOTHING. I had a explorer with open diffs. 2 wheels in the air on seperate axles means youre NOT GOING ANYWHERE. Lsd= same as locking diff, both wheels will spin and pull no matter what the slip AT THE SAME VELOCITY and direction.

Whitewolf, youre a DUMBASS. You ve never been offroading in your life. Also , you have no idea why locking diffs ( basically LSD once locks) exist. Please end yourself.

  • I have the same car with selec track gearbox. Tell me why on a part time 4x4 it's better than full time? That is what I supose.

  • Because in part time it locks the centre diff

  • Take notice on every video on Youtube concerning off roading , two tracking, mudding, etc... there are ALLWAYS 2/3+ people trying to one up each other about what they know or think they know via text comments. Just watch the vid! Or don't watch them at all. Its kind of sad and pathetic.

  • thats what the comment section is for.. your input..

  • it wont let me post a external link.. google 'how stuff works open differential' .. first link that comes up, second page of the story..

dont go telling people they're idiots when you yourself dont know what the hell your talking about

  • yes, it is true that they're independent.. but it doesn't mean that if one loses traction, the other one gains power.. if one wheel loses traction THAT wheel will spin freely while the other has no power at all..

closed means that both wheels turn at the same rate regardless of what kind of traction the other wheel has.. to a point.. they're designed to give a little to prevent hopping while turning

i've built enough rear ends to know how they work..

  • Hey guys thats my Liberty. It now has a 2.5 lift 31's arb lockers rock rails and a 10000 lbs winch. . i was through that trail last week in 2 wheel drive with the rear locked ,never had a problem.

with open difffs what ever wheel looses traction it sends o=power the that wheel to try to get traction . If you have 2 wheels in the air your stuck.

  • For open diffs and on street tires: not bad. Painful to listen to the constant scraping and cracking plastic though :P

  • I think with a little better tires, it'd get through the rocks and such a little easier. Those tires look to be stocks.

  • Nothing beats a OIIIIIO

  • @MattyGuitar665 That Liberty on the otherhand, a Shopping Cart could beat it. ;)

  • I have a 03 liberty limited with traclock and was pleasantly surprised how much toyo open country at tires helped. Some mud tires would help even more. I also have a 84 cj7 so I know what true offroading is all about. I have had my( cj7 on 33's with 6 inches total lift) over on its side and mud coming over the hood a few times. The liberty is a tough offroad vehicle.

  • just got an 06.... and luv it!

  • me too! :D

  • OPEN DIFFERIENTIALS= FAIL

  • wow, you are prob some uneduacted tard who thinks they know something about drivetrains. Open diffs mean that the wheels would spin independently of the other wheel on the same axel on a 4wd vehicle. That is a good thing! in case one wheel didnt get traction

  • Whitelonewolf10, you are mad dumb son. Open diffs mean that when one wheel doesn t get traction, the other spins, and the car gets dug in and stuck. Limited slip will force both wheels to spin in one direction no matter what, giving you much better driving force. Really, shut up before you make a bigger idiot out of yourself. Locking diffs are the NUMBER 1 essential upgrade for any real 4x4. Why do you think locking diffs exist on real 4x4s? so that one wheel can spin? ROFL. What a tool

  • are you an idiot? really? look at my comment. are you fucking illiterate? I said that OPEN DIFFERINTIALS are a good thing. that way is one tire doesnt get traction the other will. stfu you expendable mut

  • Comment removed

  • oh my god!!! that is not how a open diffs work, what the hell are you even talking about?!.. an open differential basically sends power to the wheel with the least traction... open differentials are ONLY 'good' for winter driving as they help prevent you from spinning the tire that has traction: this leaves one tire with traction and prevents the vehicle form kicking sideways... nice try, but you fail..

  • the word fail is for complete faggots

open dif= wheels spin independently of each other

locked= both spin same regardless of conditions

  • was that one of your dogs or some random wolf?

  • for a lil stock liberty that thing did pretty dam good

    only in a jeep =P

  • are there street tiers on that

  • Looks great fun :)

We've had outs out in the snow in the UK this week towing people out of ditches! Runs really well in 4LO in the snow, slush and ice! :)

  • "Ours", even...2.8 CRD :)

  • I love the diesel libertys

  • Hi everyone . That is my Liberty. That was a great day that the offroad bug bit me . That Liberty now has 2.5 inch coil lift 31 inch tires and a 10,000 lbs winch and rock rails.I don't care what anyone says the Liberty is grreat on and off road. Its not a hardcore jeep but it will go places others wont.

  • I got a 2008 Jeep Liberty and dam is that thing amazing!!! 0|||||||0

  • Yet another example of how "Trail Rated" a Libby can be on stock tires & suspension.

Just imagine what it could do on 31" tires & a 2.5" lift!

  • great video! stock rocks. i have an 03 liberty renegade. was yours leak free on the water pass??

  • ROCKIN THA STOCKNESS!!!

there are clips on here that should be on a promo vid!!

  • Nice i just bought a 2006 Liberty havent tried 4x4ing yet. How much is a Liberty cost you in the states?

  • These Liberty's will go through amazing obstacles. The blue one in this vid that got stuck had street tires. It still did very well. Give it some offroad tires and see what it could do!

  • nice work. looks like a blast.

  • Nice.. Is this Liberty on 4lo or 4hi? I'm assuming 4lo would be the most useful setting for this type of slower paced run?

  • I got a 2003 Liberty, I love it!

My next car will be a Wrangler. Love Jeeps!!!

Already had a Cherokee, it was great as well.

  • gotta love jamborees

  • Gotta keep a little bit of momentum going if you're going to do that kind of stuff. Especially with slick street tires

  • Wet street tires, not rock friendly at all

  • Sweet I love the Jeep Liberty. Should put some off roading tires on that thing though, it would make it get over those rocks a whole lot easier :D

  • not gonna lie that is impressive for a stock liberty.

  • I have an '05 Jeep Liberty and it can handle trails just like this way better, and I'm not even a good driver. What's wrong with this guy?

  • Wet STREET tires.

  • I use the tires that came with the car, isn't that what those are?

  • Looks like a good time offroad! Love those libertys. much more refined than the old cherokees.

  • Liberties own little POS oldschool crap-wagons

  • the liberty is a POS honestly this vid proves it the cherokee dominates it

  • This is a stock Libby with stock, wet street tires. Give 'em a break.

  • Lousy driver or wrong kind of tires, makes it look as though the Liberty is slowing everyone down!

  • Yes street tires will do that!

  • @Drucho

    Real jeeps are stuck behind!

  • alright well i admit i didnt really watch the whole video lol but still older jeeps had so much more capability than the new ones i have an 81 cj7 and i wouldnt take anything for it

  • if you call that "mudding" then your retarted jeeps stopped producing quality vehicles in the mid to late 90s once the liberty took the place of the cheerokee it was all downhill from there...

  • @Wafflegame the liberty is supposed to appeal to grocery getter moms, so adding it was actually pretty smart. and that mid 90s fact is BS, my 98 wrangler is a tank. get your facts straight.

  • @Wafflegame I don't see where anyone specifically called it "mudding". What I see on the video is trail riding.

In fact, being the Liberty in the vid is stock, it did quite well. Looks like everything else there was modified.

Oh, and stopped producing quality the '90s? BS. Early Wranglers had such a sorry manual transmission that junkyard replacements were hard to find.

Later Wranglers actually had better quality and manual transmissions, including the current Wrangler. You are clueless.

  • pretty cool video, i just got a 07 jeep liberty, the thing is though he should of got different tires for that type of run

  • TOPMO3

  • Great video!!! I've been thinking about getting a Wrangler for a while, but I don't like how impractical it is for everyday use. I've been watching videos like this, and now I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with the Liberty. Seems to be a great rig. :) Thanks for the post.

  • i like landrover, but, it is so dear.....

  • I hope see my old car and get a older jeep cherokee with 4x4 then i don't have to worry about digs dents or paint chips

  • Great video, thanks. Stock ftw.

  • What a sorry-ass replacement for a Cherokee...

    Signed,

Proud 1988 AMC Jeep Cherokee owner. 4.0 INLINE SIX ENGINE, 172,000 original miles.

    Have fun.

  • I have a new 2007 Liberty and I find it rock-solid, good performer and well built. Drives great on and off road! Old Cherokees are nice, but the Liberty is no POS.

  • Just thought I would mention that IT IS STOCK LIBERTY!

    Great stuff.

  • i have a jeep liberty (cherokee in italy)...you need cange tires

  • jeep liberty can take so much and not be so loud at the same time!

  • awsome! pretty good considering you wernt aired down .

  • Just needed some aired-down MTR's and he would have had no problems on any of those obstacles.

  • Very true Kug...

  • Ya Gotta love a JEEP

  • Ok now that i see I don't need a lift on my liberty 06

I can go wheelin only if i can find some places to go wheelin here in sf. Good job paul and terri

  • Not bad right out from factory. Just little modifed here and there, then already to go. Very cool video and five stars rated!

  • CRV's,, eat your hear out.. Only in your dreams..

  • That's right!

"Honda's go for drives, Jeeps go wheeling!"

  • And wheeling we did. Thanks for putting that together PirateJeep . Can't wait to do it again.

  • looks like a kewl place to make a run..

  • Much applause goes to the bone-stock soccer mom car! gotta love it!!!
