Amazing!!! My daughter is 8 years old and has been twirling for a year and a half. Last week she caught her first illusion and has been doing well on her 2 turn...all this due her Stacy who is her inspiration.

it depends on what competition youre going to, but usually gymnastics is only allowed at nationals or higher.

I think the majorettes have a different set of rules than the World baton federation, two different events.

Stacy was the seven time world champion in baton twirling- this year, 1985, then 1988-93 before retiring. So she did in fact become probably the best twirler of all time. Have a looksie at some of her later performances to see her close up. She competed in USTA and in the World (WBTF) champs, which are the biggest ones in baton twirling.

Hello... this was in 1985.. .thats what they wore shoes like that...

and you have to remember... scores are not just based on technque... performance counts as well.. and she really performed it!!!

Like what?! Give her a break...she was eight. If you could do that when you were 8 then sure, criticize her. She is my coach, and she is an amazing person. And she didn't quit from back problems, either..she retired. Also...what are the rules for NBTA? I guess I haven't seen that division...you can't do gymnastics? Stacy twirled for SOBG in Canada.

Oh Wow. ive never ever seen anyone doing that at Age 8! I'd almost think its impossible for someone at age 8 doing such hard tricks. But if its true, then she's defenetly an twirling legend...
