  • remind's me of good times of when i used to train i wished i had'nt hurt my hip

  • i've heard your one of if not the best fighter in bridgwatwer, i have only took one mma lesson but it was in weston and is hard for me to get there, do u trian in bridgwater??? i wanna getinto this sport and wanna train with ppl wiht a name, write bk if u get this!

  • Anyway thats my issue to contend with. I understand your point on the differences of tournament and MMA principles and are fully noted. The 80's were great times, loads of great characters. Miss those days and I guess I dont want to believe that any of us is getting any older, lol! My appologies if I have offeneded you, that certainly wasnt my intention.

  • lol, Well spotted Arfer.Yes you are correct I do hold a bit of bitterness from the UKKW. I am from the N.E of England and we were somewhat left out in the cold as far as the UKKW was concerned and felt as though we didnt really get the quality of instruction that we should have.

  • .....Following on.....Excellent instructor. I was merely poitning out that this video doesnt do the Arthur Meek I remember, any justice. Sharp, fast, brilliant....this video doesnt really reflect the technique of Arthur Meek I remember. I'm sorry if my comments are taken negatively

  • ok mavaleng but if you read back your comments on both videos they have a tinge of bitterness there somewhere. My training now is different, I am many yrs older, and the contest scene is well behind me. This mma video focusses on ENDURANCE in a variety of fighting disciplines. It concentrates on producing techniques over five minute rounds, not scoring a point in two minutes. Big difference....try it, you won't look quite so sharp either, lol. Happy to reply though.

  • following on...if you look at the related videos of my fight in the ring from when I was that tournament fighter in the 80's you will see a different individual especially in the later rounds. Same era, same person, different discipline, again not scoring points in two minutes, trying to survive/win over four rounds.

  • Please understand that I mean no disrespect to you. I trained and graded with the UKKW for 10 years and aspired to be like the Arthur Meeks, William Vincents, John Wicks of the federation. Unfortunately every session I had with the Japanese of this association was the same, very little explanation of what was going on, Bunkai was non-existant and I found myself paying out lots of money for very little tuition. In comparison I have trained with Sensei Shingo Ogami many times and find him to be a

  • I remember Arthur from the old UKKW days and he was a tremendous tournament fighter. Cant help but look at this video and think he has drifted off his path somewhat. Not impressed with this one I'm sorry to say....

  • Hi mavaleng, thank you for your praise of the old days. But you seem to contradict yourself when you say I have drifted from the old path somewhat. Because I read your comment on the knife demonstration I did with Shiomitsu sensei and you said'same old stuff from UKKW days and still charging a load for it I expect' Not easily pleased are you.

  • Arthur is not only a very good teacher but also one of the kindest people I have met. I trained under Arthur only for a few brief months back in the 90's but he not only taught me how to defend myself but also a few lessons in life.

    A great man.

  • thanks for the remarkable observation but judging by your favourited video i thought mopeds were more your field.

  • says a man that keeps sadao watanbe in his favourites, see i was right.

  • bags dont hit back u saddo.
