NUNCA NADIE SE COMPARARA CON ESTOS GRANDES HERMANOS SIN DUDA FUERON EL CONJUNTO CON MAS AUGE AQUI EN MONTERREY POR ESO SIGUEN SIENDO LOS CONSENTIDOS DE LA ONDA OOOOTTTTTTRAAAAAAAAAA.LA UNION DE ESTOS GRANDES TALENTOS SE REFLEJABA EN CADA UNA DE SUS ROLAS, QUE VIVAN LOS HOMETOWN BOYS POR SIEMPRE....
@corridoamor Roman Sr is still alive bro! He's just turn 76 and about to call it quits. Its sad he out lasted all his sons. Hometown boys will always b my #1 conjunto band.
my family is from laredo tx and i live in fort worth and i also remember the homies back in 92 they were an awsome conjunto they played marine park in fort woth and i didnt think they couuld fit almost 1,000 mexicans into a park so small but they were that good !!!!!!!!
I remember the first time I saw the hommies play at Emilios back in 92 , todavia no se me olvida. OOOOOTTTRRRRAAAAA , PURO PARTY ,PURO PARTY, SUAVECITO,SUAVECITO.
I did the intermission( djing ) when they played at the Koko Palace right here in lubbock tx as a dj knew them all from the start when they were knowed as Ricky & Joe y el grupo International still play their music out here in west texas alot.
Awesome video but nothing beats being there dancing! I saw them way back when maybe 1996 in Lubbock and they hardly took breaks between songs. I got tired before they did and yes, they are legends!
This is my fav of Joe's specials. One of my fav memories was seeing Joe y El Nicky Snick jammin this special. Puro pinche mano a mano papa los dos...staba con madre.
Yes, they did but I can find the exact album it was on at the moment, but the song is Joe's special no.5 and it was also on the album The Hometown Boys and friends- Puras Polkas that album # is DMM-1996 if you want to find it
It's not really a live album, it sort of sounds like a live album, but it doesn't actaully say live any where on the cover art. If the cover has The Hometown boys,Los Dos Gilbertos, Tejano Knights, Annette y Axxion, and Los Pekadorez any where on the front along with an acooridion that has an image of the state of texas when its open you have found the right album. It should also have Joe's specials No.2, 5, 6, 7, 8, 10 next to the Hometown Boys
I had the great honor to meet Joe and Rick MARTINEZ at one of the TEJANO MUSIC AWARDS post parties. They took time to chat and pose for pictures with me and were as nice as can be. Joe was a great accordion player and Rick was a good singer. Now they are part of the All Star Tejano Conjunto in Heaven delighting all TEJANOS there; every night it is Standing Room Only! Thanks for your great music Home Town Boys, thanks for the memories! Aways your fan...BIG MAC!
I got to Party with Joe Martinez a few times..I seen The Hometown Boys in Earth Texas back in 1990. They were playing with Los Arcos Hermanos Pena....I also partied with him backstage in Fresno ca a few times...I also partied with him in San Benito Tx and we had a couple of drinks of Oso Negro....I still have his Phone # programed in my phone and i will never erase it...Puro Conjunto Carnal!!!!!!!!!!!
They are playing "Antotonilico", which was made famous by Antonio "Tony" de la Rosa, who died in 2004. May he, Ricky, Joe, Jesse, and Roman Jr. rest in peace. Roman Jr. died in October of 1997. Joe died on January 22, 1998. Jesse died on August 16, 2002. Ricky passed away recently on July 12, 2007. May they rest in peace. There will never be another Joe Martinez, may he rest in peace.
How old is Roman Sr., (the bajo sexto player), at the time. If the video was taken in 1992, he would have been 57 years old. He looks a lot younger, as if he is in his 20's.
