I'll give you, there are uglier cars around than this incarnation of the Genesis coupe, and Rhys Millen is a world class competition driver (I might be biased, as I am a New Zealander too). But if theres one thing about the Genesis that bugs the hell outta me, it has to be one of the most horrible sounding race cars in competition today. Sure you've got the turbo whistle and wastegate howl.. but that V6 exhaust note is ghastly. My credit-crunched two cents worth.

um the whole car is a Hyunda. its not like its a NASCAR stock car. the car is based on the production Genesis. all that is different is a bit more power, a wide bodykit, and a stripped interior.

i also like how you bring up Hyundais are shit cars when there's an elderly lady up the road from me with an 11 year old Hyundai Elantra that hasn't had any problems and i do regular maintenance for her. hasn't had one single problem since she bought it new.

yes it is based on the production car, but heavily modified, it puts huge amounts of stress on the car runing pikes peak, everything from tires to the chassie have been changed, its not, and power wise 550 bhp, thats not just a little more

This car uses a Nissan Z engine at the moment correct me if I'm wrong. They couldnt get enough power out of the Hyundai engine yet. He also shredded the tyres at about 75% on the way up. The Unlimited Class will be better next year!

They used the Hyundai engine in this pikes peek challenge....They used the Nissan engine in the very beginning(very briefly) & not on this Pikes peak run BECAUSE they didn't have time to prepare the Hyundai engine for the start of the competition..., so they briefly used the Nissan engine as a temporary solution(not bcus they couldn't get enough power out of the Hyundai). Next time please get your facts correct :)
