I remember being so into Trex & Marc Bolan with the slider album. I would listen over and over. A lot of my friends were not into him like I was because (i think) the flashy atrire. They made it seem gay, so being a young man I was going along with the crowd and pretended not to like the whole Marc Bolan thing when around them. Looking back at it I would have to say he is still one of my favorite artists. The sound, the look, the original style. Great.

@cliforo -Ha! Once, I had a pic of him on my cubical wall and I found a manager just staring at it one day -he finally said, "Who is this?" I said, "Beautiful, isn't he?" He was dumbfounded and a little embarrassed, but I assured him many are drawn the purely enigmatic, dynamic, individual who was Marc Bolen. I loaded some T-Rex on a flash drive for him; a fan was born. It takes a good eye to recognize a rare treasure. ;o)

@kjctubeful I have had the same experience @work with people , I have Marc on my screen saver and people always ask "who is that"? and I tell them and turn them on.... they think he is beautiful and amazing. I have 2 daughters aged 20 and 15 who totally love Marc and love his music and have for years... It's awesome they have been turning their friends onto Marc as well , it's great!!!!!!!

Meaning floating through the air like a LOON is like floating in the air as a BALLOON but his double meaning is that being alone is, to him, similar to if one were a balloon floating above & away from everything & everyone, separate from normal life & human interaction with others. One of his many MANY double meaning lyrics. He was clever, maybe even (at times)...profound.
