@HaIIcyon As I said, enough of the debates. This is my last response to you. Train it or don't, just know that every sentence u utter WITHOUT having trained it is meaningless. @Gorshkin111 You use a very weak strawman argument "IF YOU DON'T TRAIN IN KEYSI THEN YOU ARE AUTOMATICALLY A BAD FIGHTER"

@chuggyman69 Wow, then you're missing out on, in my opinion, the greatest art since BJJ. I'm a brown belt in BJJ, and an instructor kali and jkd...I once mocked KFM too. @chuggyman69 Everyone's entitled to their opinion, and you're certainly entitled to yours, but personally I laugh whenever I hear someon say that KFM isn't for the street. What you see here is some ov how they train for films, using some of the moves from KFM. The actual martial art IS the fucking streets. But that's mine opinion.
@hiIltop530 Blame the "robot fighting" on Chris Nolan (director). I love the guy, but Keysi is an extremely FLUID martial art. I have no idea while he filmed it the way he did. Ask anybody who trains KFM, and they'll tell ya that what they saw in that movie looks NOTHING LIKE what we train. I guess the kind of movements Nolan wanted were more "showy" for film, and so there were robotic pauses and large, sweeping motions. I dunno. weird.
@Prisoner866 How was it Nolan's fault when these guys in the video (including the stuntman/coordinator) were in charge? The keysi expert himself screwed it up. Anyway, the point is, the batman in the comics never used Keysi. It was rather a mix of martial arts, from Ju jutsu, karate, boxing, judo, kickboxing ninjutsu, kung fu and numerous others. Mainly asian oriented ones. One book I read said he knew capoeira but I've never seen him use that.
All you guys sound like the "I know what you are, but what am I" kids of the world. Anybody who trains in something is better than someone who has no training at all. This looks like some dirty boxing, ninjutsu, and muay thai mixed together, and it looks like it has a lot of practical uses. I was considering learning this art myself. Most people know that they are never going to use an art on the street in its exact form. You just figure out the most useful parts of it and make it work.
@Deathclok Jeet kun do is bullshit? I guess that's why the greatest martial artist in the world founded it... (Bruce Lee). You need to study up kid, and besides, Krav Maga and KFM is used because they are the most effective in modern fighting. And the reason we don't see much of Keysi is because it's pretty much new, made to work best during modern fighting in real life, not to look stylish.
this is shit, why would i take a lesson. i can tell by these two that it sucks, and it won't work if someone is trying to attack you. I take Krav Maga because it has throws from judo, kicks, knees, punches, elbows, from muay thai, and it's got its own thing which is disarming a weapon. so therfore, i think KM is the best kind of martial art.
@rotsebanotman Hey kid, good for you. I took KM for 4 years. So I've walked in those shoes. And it's highly overrated. I learned nothing that I did not already know from my years of taking Jeet Kune Do and Kali.
Now why don't you go make another iPhone jailbreaking video. We can always use more of those here on YouTube.
Keysi doesn't actually work. This was a martial art they chose to give batman for the film to make the "fighting look real when in Reality, of all the original martial arts batman practices, Keysi wasn't one
@Deathclok But if you think that's all they learn. You need to do some SERIOUS studying up. SAS and SEALS main points of training are in JKD, Escrima(Kali), Salat, and Sayoc.
But, Scotch is right. KFM is currently being phased into SAS training.
@Deathclok Nooo. They teach Krav Maga, as most other armies around the world, also Apache Indian knife techniques, Sayoc Kali, Jeet Kune Do (the fighting style Bruce Lee founded.) and ofc Keysi Fighting Method. However they COULD teach much more because their training isn't very public information.
@kikass007 LOL! They share some similarities. I myself trained in JKD for 22 years. I can tell you that KFM is QUITE different. But...Justo and Andy are certified JKD instructors under Danny.
OK.WATCH BUSTER REEVES FIGHT IN A REAL MATCH ,YOU CAN SEE WITH YOUR EYES. WATCH BUSTER REEVES VS MARK WEIR AND AFTER SAY YOUR OPINION. BUT THE REALITY IS IN FRONT OF WE. VALETUDO MMA THIS IS THE MOST COMPLETE AND EXTREME FIGHTING METHOD
@jflg1 are you sure, I know they're trained in Judo, Karate, Kung fu and other martial arts, also they're trained in Krav Maga but I don't know about KFM.
No one is going to stand there and let you do five or six set moves on them. This is for movies and would have limited application on the street unless you are 25, superfit and only get in fights with very slow small people.
@TriSixshot - that assumes you are able to hit hard enough and your adversary isn't made of stern stuff and doesn't have a high pain threshold.
That's a lot of assumptions...better to learn where it hurts in all people and focus on that than lots of combo moves which look wonderful but probably have limited application.
There's a reason we don't see keysi in UFC, Pride and in the average street fight...it doesn't work :o)
@TriSixshot - assuming they allow you to hit them you're a human being and have limits on how much force you can bring to bear on a certain point. Miss any delicate tissue and nerves and/or be faced with someone high on crack or worked up into a frenzy and the chances are unless you can hit like a heavyweight boxer you might not do anything they will feel until they've hit back several times.
As I said, better not to get into fights. If you win you're a thug, if you lose you go to hospital...
@Hereticalable Oh so your using the "he could be hopped up on drugs which can make him impervious to pain" argument. Because if you take a hit of crack, that makes you superhuman? lol. Did you ever stop to think that maybe the drugs make it so that he can't even stand up straight?
@TriSixshot - sure if they are high on weed I am sure they won't be in fighting prime. However crack, coke and speed can make an average person extremely dangerous...ask a police officer and they can all quote stories of people shot several times who didn't drop because they can't feel pain thanks to drugs.
@Hereticalable Keyword there: can. That doesn't mean it will. Your also assuming that they have body builder type bodies. The average user is of average weight or is malnourished because they've been feeding the addiction rather than taking care of their bodies.
@TriSixshot - I completely agree with you that it's "can" not "will". However you don't need to be a bodybuilder to be tough and mean though. There's plenty of wirey guys out there who can move very fast and do a lot of damage...some big guys I know don't like fighting wirey types as they tend to be faster and try harder hehe.
All aside it's better to avoid fights - any good martial art teacher teachers avoidance and the stripping of the macho mindset first.
@Hereticalable I never said that you should go looking for fights. You claimed this would never work in the real world, yet you only have your opinion and no actual data to support this. So unless you have some definitive proof to as why this wouldn't work, please stop.
@TriSixshot - not easy to prove anything like that over the net really...I wouldn't know where to begin. Perhaps if we put these chaps in a ring with a MMA fighter we'll see which method of fighting works.
Keysi has been developed for movies...no MMA fighters train and win using this. And there is no military training that involves keysi - I suppose that alone is a testimony to it not being a practical fighting system. It looks great though - hence movie fighting method.
@Hereticalable So your assuming it won't work because you haven't seen it used in the fighting ring or in real life? Yeah...nothing wrong with that thought process.
@Hereticalable ehm.......keysi isnt going to be effective in mma but its certainly not developed for the movies,it just happens to look great on screen when you exagerate the movements
@billysue2 - ok so it's not effective in MMA. It's definately not being taught to commandos, police etc who actually need to learn real combat techniques that work...which leads to the question - what is it for exactly?
@Hereticalable being taught to military is no guarantee anything works, you should see the crap thats been taught around the world over the years and those guys rarely if ever have to use it 1 on 1.I would say keysi works better than anything that doesnt spar full contact but of course only some things will work for some people
@billysue2 - A good military won't teach rubbish to it's soldiers. Do you think Marines and commandos learn crap when they are likely to get into close quarter fighting?
It works better than "anything that doesnt spar full contact but of course only some things will work for some people": I suggest you look up Krav Maga for what can work for pretty much anyone at any level of fitness as an example of a fighting system based in reality not stuntmen.
@Hereticalable not all military are good and what the us army taught its troops up till recently enough was a joke, they never even sparred and did occasional practise.Krav is a solid system provides they spar hard and I know that is far from all of them
@billysue2 thats right, we were always good at killing with more conventional weapons. hand to hand therefore, was obsolescent....i hope i spelled that right. im too lazy to use spell check and i dont have an editor on hand lol. anyway, i dont see brazil, china, japan winning any wars. althouth the philipines and vietnamese are some badass mofos.
@opticannon spell check wouldnt help there lad, since the word youre using doesnt exist. The word is obsolete, thats not a spelling mistake ,thats called not having a fucking clue how to speak english.
@billysue2 im typing not, speaking. youre telling me about spell check when you cant form proper sentence structure. lasty, i know you are not the one for research and picking up a book to educate yourself as it shows in your arguements. before you criticize someone about word usage why dont you just look it up. you can apologize later.
@Hereticalable I thoroughly agree...however if you are able to hit effectively with the first movement...there is a possibility that you may be able to continue with a few more techniques...of course this wont happen until you manage to hit with that inital "stunning" blow....check out Paul Vunak's RAT method.
@Hereticalable yeah, people have a tendancey to flinch and run away from the pain. they also tend to do a lot of un expected stuff like fight back after the first hit and not leave their hand out there.
@opticannon - I've seen big guys completely thrown off simply by someone spitting in their face or kissing them...then proceeding to beat the crap out of them.
Better to not get into fights in the first place - too many variables.
@Hereticalable yep, thats why i dont fight although, fight to me means something totally different. fighting is akin to willpower for me ( in short ) i agree however that getting into scraps is not cool. its like the art of war. i dont fight i win if i can, loose if i must but always cheat snikers. actually, all it takes is one lucky shot or an eye gouge to minimize your skill permenantly. i feel sorry for ufcers when they get into their 50's.
@opticannon id say ufc fighters will be fine in their 50s,certainly no worse thsn any other sportsmen.Randy and ken shamrock are already close to 50 and dan severn is over it.The guys are combat athletes, theyreprepared for it and the sport is less traumtic on the body than rugby or us football.
@billysue2 randy and shamrock two out of many. i know for a fact i have a trick wrist, had a shattered tooth, and a lot of other subtle injury that im sure'll get worse with age. and thats not even ring shit...you cant prepare for wear and tear. besides randys ear looks like an inflammed hemroidal asshole. and i dont know about calling them COMBAT athletes. thats stretching it. in combat you get side armed strocked by the stock or gutted with kbar....?
@opticannon a shattered tooth never stopped anyone doing anything, lol and just because 1 person has injuries doesnt extrapolate to the whole sporting population, not to mention the fact that every sportsman has to deal with the accumulation of injuries as they age.Training and conditioning smart minimises wear and tear.Cauliflower ear doesnt affect performance and boxing, judo, wrestling, thaiboxing and mma are referred to as combat sports by everyone with an education who can speak english.
@billysue2 i see you mentioned everything else but my wrist ( that tells me something about you ). as far as the other subtle injuries like to my neck, knees, and etc are not easy for me or my warriors pride to mention.
and as far as the rest of the so called educated world; they would call it martial art. its right in the name that you are so fond of quoting buddy mixed martial art. now as far as the roots and purpose of those arts they are watered down.
@opticannon i only mentioned your tooth since its a ridiculous excuse. The combat sports you comment havent been practised as martial arts(in battle) for centuries.I dont know any wrestler or boxer that refers to themselves as martial artists though they were originally so.The only people who can talk about being warriors are soldiers and full conatct fighters, recreational martial artists who practise for self defense arent warriors ,a warrior seeks competitive fights.
@billysue2 excuse? wtf r u tlking about. look, half of what you said paraphrases what ive typed. the other half is questionable. like i said these sports "combat" systems as you have stated are watered down versions of the former systems of true combat. full contact fighters are not warriors, they are not soldiers....there is no fear of death. fact, a warriors main goal is to KILL, HIS ENEMY. none of these sports have swords nonetheless allow vital strikes.
@opticannon so, in closing i would have to say that although any style of combat and sport can be leathal. the beginning of this debate was about effectiveness no? so, i will go on to say in summation that yes, it all works yet some work better than others. so, one has to consider purpose and arena of "combat". it is then that we can go on to say what weakness and or strength each form has. so until they have all out PANKRATION (wiki it) or knife\gun fights i suggest we both hold our opinions.
@opticannon you mentioned your warriors pride, therefore wre talking about warrior mentality, not being in an actual battle.Warriors mentality refers to a willingness to risk injury and close with the enemy, full contact fighting tests this, light contact pussy sparring does not, dressing up as ninjas and doing compliant pussified drills does not
@billysue2 no, spoken like a true grunt. you must understand that the mentality of a warrior is to win a war. combat happens often enough when you have no choice but to engage the enemy or if its a controlled engagement. drills make things second nature. so, let us go shoot each other to get a sense of whats real? no. you gain exp. by actual and decisive victory by any means. i agree with the compliant uke tori drills being unreal. energy and timing drills though are great.
the style as batman's main face to face arsenal was selected for its emphasis on elbows, its aggressive and elongated flashy moves, and its original ward that exploits the spikes on batman forearm protectors
When they say Reeves is a Jiu-Jitsu world champion, what exactly does that mean? Did he compete in a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competition? Or did the title come from some other place?
I am quite aware of that Veritas, I train in Japanese Jiu-Jitsu, but what I'm trying to say is that I don't know what would make him a Jiu-Jitsu World Champion. What kind of competitions for Jiu-Jitsu do they have besides the grappling tournaments?
I dont know what to think of the effectiveness of this style, it seems very odd to me the way they use the hands, but the truth is that the people involved in creating the fight sequences for the movie got fucked up. I mean, when you see the stunt people rehearsing you see a very raw, brutal and nice looking style, you see a very good work being done but the director messed it al up, in a way you just can't undertand what you are watching, Shame on Nolan and those stupid editors.
dude im getting sick of people saying that. Nolan did that for a reason in the first one, it was supposed to look intense it was suppose to be brutal and in the first one they went for the confusing fast camera angles inorder to obscure the sight inorder for it to be mysterious and frantic. In dark knight they cleaned up the camera work abit.
They used the same sort of camera work that the bourne movies use. Lots of angles, quick switches between cameras. It makes you feel like you're part of the fight, you can't get that when the camera is shooting from 20 feet away giving you the whole scene. It creates a hectic effect.
But at least you can see what the actors are doing. Imagine watching Jackie Chan or Bruce Lee perform with this shaky camera? It would totally kill the scene. This only helps to hide the lack of fighting abilities of an actor. Greengrass should watch some chinese Kung Fu movies or at least some of the stuff Seagal did in the early 90's, like Under Siege, Above The Law or Out For Justice.
Greengrass should have done it like Pierre Morel in "Taken". You could actually see what Liam Neeson was doing, besides having lots os cuts. He looked bad ass and you could enjoy the results of the hard training he put himself through to play his part. As a matter of fact I would be glad if Morel directed a fourth Bourne Installment or a Bond movie.
your opinoin. the movies are way to excellent to be picky on somthing like that. Batman and Robin, and Batman forever both have pretty awsome fight scenes, but they both sucked cause too much emphasis was put on the action and not enough on intergrating that with the story. so I'll take this fighting anyday.
i like the way that you protect your head and stuff so well. but what about the groin man? What if your up against someone who knows muay thai or some other martial art.
Just met one of these dudes today. He's my combat training coach, and he SOO cool.

@kikass007 LOL! They share some similarities. I myself trained in JKD for 22 years. I can tell you that KFM is QUITE different. But...Justo and Andy are certified JKD instructors under Danny.

No one is going to stand there and let you do five or six set moves on them. This is for movies and would have limited application on the street unless you are 25, superfit and only get in fights with very slow small people.
Hereticalable 1 year ago
@Hereticalable Hit them hard enough and it doesn't matter.
TriSixshot 1 year ago
@TriSixshot - that assumes you are able to hit hard enough and your adversary isn't made of stern stuff and doesn't have a high pain threshold.
That's a lot of assumptions...better to learn where it hurts in all people and focus on that than lots of combo moves which look wonderful but probably have limited application.
There's a reason we don't see keysi in UFC, Pride and in the average street fight...it doesn't work :o)
Hereticalable 1 year ago
@Hereticalable So basically no matter how hard I hit them in the groin, they won't feel any pain? riiiiiggght.
TriSixshot 1 year ago
@TriSixshot - assuming they allow you to hit them you're a human being and have limits on how much force you can bring to bear on a certain point. Miss any delicate tissue and nerves and/or be faced with someone high on crack or worked up into a frenzy and the chances are unless you can hit like a heavyweight boxer you might not do anything they will feel until they've hit back several times.
As I said, better not to get into fights. If you win you're a thug, if you lose you go to hospital...
Hereticalable 1 year ago
@Hereticalable Oh so your using the "he could be hopped up on drugs which can make him impervious to pain" argument. Because if you take a hit of crack, that makes you superhuman? lol. Did you ever stop to think that maybe the drugs make it so that he can't even stand up straight?
TriSixshot 1 year ago
@TriSixshot - sure if they are high on weed I am sure they won't be in fighting prime. However crack, coke and speed can make an average person extremely dangerous...ask a police officer and they can all quote stories of people shot several times who didn't drop because they can't feel pain thanks to drugs.
Hereticalable 1 year ago
@Hereticalable Keyword there: can. That doesn't mean it will. Your also assuming that they have body builder type bodies. The average user is of average weight or is malnourished because they've been feeding the addiction rather than taking care of their bodies.
TriSixshot 1 year ago
@TriSixshot - I completely agree with you that it's "can" not "will". However you don't need to be a bodybuilder to be tough and mean though. There's plenty of wirey guys out there who can move very fast and do a lot of damage...some big guys I know don't like fighting wirey types as they tend to be faster and try harder hehe.
All aside it's better to avoid fights - any good martial art teacher teachers avoidance and the stripping of the macho mindset first.
Hereticalable 1 year ago
@Hereticalable I never said that you should go looking for fights. You claimed this would never work in the real world, yet you only have your opinion and no actual data to support this. So unless you have some definitive proof to as why this wouldn't work, please stop.
TriSixshot 1 year ago
@TriSixshot - not easy to prove anything like that over the net really...I wouldn't know where to begin. Perhaps if we put these chaps in a ring with a MMA fighter we'll see which method of fighting works.
Keysi has been developed for movies...no MMA fighters train and win using this. And there is no military training that involves keysi - I suppose that alone is a testimony to it not being a practical fighting system. It looks great though - hence movie fighting method.
Hereticalable 1 year ago
@Hereticalable First you say to put them in the ring to see if it works, then you do a 180 and say why it would never work. Yeah...that makes sense.
TriSixshot 1 year ago
@TriSixshot - Actually I feel that unless put in a ring or used in real fights we have to assume it won't work.
The proof of the pudding is in the eating as it were...
Hereticalable 1 year ago
@Hereticalable So your assuming it won't work because you haven't seen it used in the fighting ring or in real life? Yeah...nothing wrong with that thought process.
TriSixshot 1 year ago
@Hereticalable ehm.......keysi isnt going to be effective in mma but its certainly not developed for the movies,it just happens to look great on screen when you exagerate the movements
billysue2 1 year ago
@billysue2 - ok so it's not effective in MMA. It's definately not being taught to commandos, police etc who actually need to learn real combat techniques that work...which leads to the question - what is it for exactly?
Hereticalable 1 year ago
@Hereticalable being taught to military is no guarantee anything works, you should see the crap thats been taught around the world over the years and those guys rarely if ever have to use it 1 on 1.I would say keysi works better than anything that doesnt spar full contact but of course only some things will work for some people
billysue2 1 year ago
@billysue2 - A good military won't teach rubbish to it's soldiers. Do you think Marines and commandos learn crap when they are likely to get into close quarter fighting?
It works better than "anything that doesnt spar full contact but of course only some things will work for some people": I suggest you look up Krav Maga for what can work for pretty much anyone at any level of fitness as an example of a fighting system based in reality not stuntmen.
Hereticalable 1 year ago
@Hereticalable not all military are good and what the us army taught its troops up till recently enough was a joke, they never even sparred and did occasional practise.Krav is a solid system provides they spar hard and I know that is far from all of them
billysue2 1 year ago
@billysue2 thats right, we were always good at killing with more conventional weapons. hand to hand therefore, was obsolescent....i hope i spelled that right. im too lazy to use spell check and i dont have an editor on hand lol. anyway, i dont see brazil, china, japan winning any wars. althouth the philipines and vietnamese are some badass mofos.
opticannon 1 year ago
@opticannon spell check wouldnt help there lad, since the word youre using doesnt exist. The word is obsolete, thats not a spelling mistake ,thats called not having a fucking clue how to speak english.
billysue2 1 year ago
@billysue2 im typing not, speaking. youre telling me about spell check when you cant form proper sentence structure. lasty, i know you are not the one for research and picking up a book to educate yourself as it shows in your arguements. before you criticize someone about word usage why dont you just look it up. you can apologize later.
opticannon 1 year ago
@Hereticalable I thoroughly agree...however if you are able to hit effectively with the first movement...there is a possibility that you may be able to continue with a few more techniques...of course this wont happen until you manage to hit with that inital "stunning" blow....check out Paul Vunak's RAT method.
PitFighter2007 1 year ago
@Hereticalable yeah, people have a tendancey to flinch and run away from the pain. they also tend to do a lot of un expected stuff like fight back after the first hit and not leave their hand out there.
opticannon 1 year ago
@opticannon - I've seen big guys completely thrown off simply by someone spitting in their face or kissing them...then proceeding to beat the crap out of them.
Better to not get into fights in the first place - too many variables.
Hereticalable 1 year ago
@Hereticalable yep, thats why i dont fight although, fight to me means something totally different. fighting is akin to willpower for me ( in short ) i agree however that getting into scraps is not cool. its like the art of war. i dont fight i win if i can, loose if i must but always cheat snikers. actually, all it takes is one lucky shot or an eye gouge to minimize your skill permenantly. i feel sorry for ufcers when they get into their 50's.
opticannon 1 year ago
@opticannon id say ufc fighters will be fine in their 50s,certainly no worse thsn any other sportsmen.Randy and ken shamrock are already close to 50 and dan severn is over it.The guys are combat athletes, theyreprepared for it and the sport is less traumtic on the body than rugby or us football.
billysue2 1 year ago
@billysue2 randy and shamrock two out of many. i know for a fact i have a trick wrist, had a shattered tooth, and a lot of other subtle injury that im sure'll get worse with age. and thats not even ring shit...you cant prepare for wear and tear. besides randys ear looks like an inflammed hemroidal asshole. and i dont know about calling them COMBAT athletes. thats stretching it. in combat you get side armed strocked by the stock or gutted with kbar....?
opticannon 1 year ago
@opticannon a shattered tooth never stopped anyone doing anything, lol and just because 1 person has injuries doesnt extrapolate to the whole sporting population, not to mention the fact that every sportsman has to deal with the accumulation of injuries as they age.Training and conditioning smart minimises wear and tear.Cauliflower ear doesnt affect performance and boxing, judo, wrestling, thaiboxing and mma are referred to as combat sports by everyone with an education who can speak english.
billysue2 1 year ago
@billysue2 i see you mentioned everything else but my wrist ( that tells me something about you ). as far as the other subtle injuries like to my neck, knees, and etc are not easy for me or my warriors pride to mention.
and as far as the rest of the so called educated world; they would call it martial art. its right in the name that you are so fond of quoting buddy mixed martial art. now as far as the roots and purpose of those arts they are watered down.
opticannon 1 year ago
@opticannon i only mentioned your tooth since its a ridiculous excuse. The combat sports you comment havent been practised as martial arts(in battle) for centuries.I dont know any wrestler or boxer that refers to themselves as martial artists though they were originally so.The only people who can talk about being warriors are soldiers and full conatct fighters, recreational martial artists who practise for self defense arent warriors ,a warrior seeks competitive fights.
billysue2 1 year ago
@billysue2 excuse? wtf r u tlking about. look, half of what you said paraphrases what ive typed. the other half is questionable. like i said these sports "combat" systems as you have stated are watered down versions of the former systems of true combat. full contact fighters are not warriors, they are not soldiers....there is no fear of death. fact, a warriors main goal is to KILL, HIS ENEMY. none of these sports have swords nonetheless allow vital strikes.
opticannon 1 year ago
@opticannon so, in closing i would have to say that although any style of combat and sport can be leathal. the beginning of this debate was about effectiveness no? so, i will go on to say in summation that yes, it all works yet some work better than others. so, one has to consider purpose and arena of "combat". it is then that we can go on to say what weakness and or strength each form has. so until they have all out PANKRATION (wiki it) or knife\gun fights i suggest we both hold our opinions.
opticannon 1 year ago
@opticannon you mentioned your warriors pride, therefore wre talking about warrior mentality, not being in an actual battle.Warriors mentality refers to a willingness to risk injury and close with the enemy, full contact fighting tests this, light contact pussy sparring does not, dressing up as ninjas and doing compliant pussified drills does not
billysue2 1 year ago
@billysue2 no, spoken like a true grunt. you must understand that the mentality of a warrior is to win a war. combat happens often enough when you have no choice but to engage the enemy or if its a controlled engagement. drills make things second nature. so, let us go shoot each other to get a sense of whats real? no. you gain exp. by actual and decisive victory by any means. i agree with the compliant uke tori drills being unreal. energy and timing drills though are great.

When they say Reeves is a Jiu-Jitsu world champion, what exactly does that mean? Did he compete in a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu competition? Or did the title come from some other place?
WhirlwindWerewolf 2 years ago
He probably means normal jiu jitsu :) There are more forms of jiu jitsu than BJJ.

TheLKX 2 years ago
dude im getting sick of people saying that. Nolan did that for a reason in the first one, it was supposed to look intense it was suppose to be brutal and in the first one they went for the confusing fast camera angles inorder to obscure the sight inorder for it to be mysterious and frantic. In dark knight they cleaned up the camera work abit.
azuzaj1 2 years ago
Well, it simply didn't work. Instead of looking frantic and mysterious it was a plain mess. Even the opening scene in Elektra worked better.
TheLKX 2 years ago
They used the same sort of camera work that the bourne movies use. Lots of angles, quick switches between cameras. It makes you feel like you're part of the fight, you can't get that when the camera is shooting from 20 feet away giving you the whole scene. It creates a hectic effect.
USMCforever100 2 years ago
But at least you can see what the actors are doing. Imagine watching Jackie Chan or Bruce Lee perform with this shaky camera? It would totally kill the scene. This only helps to hide the lack of fighting abilities of an actor. Greengrass should watch some chinese Kung Fu movies or at least some of the stuff Seagal did in the early 90's, like Under Siege, Above The Law or Out For Justice.
TheLKX 2 years ago
what. okay kid they are two completely different camera styles. whatever you like.
cammycutie13 2 years ago
Greengrass should have done it like Pierre Morel in "Taken". You could actually see what Liam Neeson was doing, besides having lots os cuts. He looked bad ass and you could enjoy the results of the hard training he put himself through to play his part. As a matter of fact I would be glad if Morel directed a fourth Bourne Installment or a Bond movie.
TheLKX 2 years ago
your opinoin. the movies are way to excellent to be picky on somthing like that. Batman and Robin, and Batman forever both have pretty awsome fight scenes, but they both sucked cause too much emphasis was put on the action and not enough on intergrating that with the story. so I'll take this fighting anyday.
cammycutie13 2 years ago
boxing and bjj leave their groins wide open as well, but they are both great styles everyone should learn.
i like the rapid elbows and forearms.
