  • Interesting for those who care about reading body language, at 2:06 after 3 notes are played at the same time he look instinctively to the right, witch is a sign that he is recaling his auditory memory. So this video is not fake, and as he dont do it for one or 2 note mean that he is realy guifted !

  • I dont have perfect pitch even people tell me I have sometime, and I cant tell if he is right, but still it is clear to me that your piano need to be tune ! At 0:24 the G sharp is beating at 4-5 hz, c5 at 1:41 is a wolf

  • @hyabukyci888 @maestrochief actually 00:40 sounds like a E at first but when you hear it it turns to a D I can't explain exactly why/how that happened but I initially hear an E turning to a D. thats awkward :P but there are those 2 notes I'm sure there are

  • I have perfect pitch too :)

  • SInce you asked for back-up, I'm going to state the obvious. Yes, that note is a D.

  • wonderful!!!

  • Real absolute pitch is recognition of pure tones, not piano tones. Gavin shows impressive pitch memory here. There is a study by the university of california and it determines whether or not you have perfect picth based on pure tone score.

  • cool, check out my video

perfect pitch test by spikedude55. I do this perfect pitch test online and get all of them right.

  • He sounds inthusiastic!!!!

  • leave the kid alone, jeez. clearly what he can do is impressive, even if he got ONE note wrong.

Frankly, I'm jealous. Go Gavin! :)

  • bet this kid can't play shit

  • This video would be better if the sound was in both sides of the channel, its going through the right channel only lol.

  • He should be famous, so should I. we both share the same talents!

  • @juaniluco888 ... only a pr1ck would take time to point out where a clearly talented young kid may have made one mistake among 7 minutes of a very impressive demonstation. Get a life you w@nker ... fair play to the kid in this clip, great talent...

  • I don't have perfect pitch but the thing of playing songs in diffrend keys has nothing to with perfect pitch I can do that too cause I know music theory

  • A VERY GOOD DEMONSTRATION OF PERFECT PITCH,THIS ABILITY IS BORN IN A PERSON IF PERFECT PITC DEVELOPS LATER IN LIFE IT WAS ALREADY THERE BUT WAITING TO BE RECOGNISED

  • amazing.

  • @juaniluco888 at 40 it is a D. you are wrong

btw maestrochief, it's good that your son knows he has perfect pitch at a young age. im in high school and i didn't know i had it until junior year in high school when i realized none of my friends could it

  • thats fine, I didn't mean to kill the party here, just being honest :S

  • sorry dude, you got one wrong, you said it was a D when it was a E. i also have perfect pitch too- ur not the only one!!!

  • @juaniluco888

I think you are mistaken! He didn't say D when it was an E. Tell me where because I listened to it again. Also,

I never said that he was the only person who had perfect pitch. Sounds like you need to open your ears!

  • @maestrochief actually see at 0:40 and it was clearly an E when he clearly said D.

MATE, OPEN YOU EARS cause mine already are!!! ;)

  • @juaniluco888

Once again, you are wrong.... if your talking about the low d note played at 40 and at 43 he says D......

    It's a D.....

Also, I saw that you have commented on other people's channels and try to correct their mistakes.

Please try to refrain from speaking negative on this channel. Enjoy your perfect pitch and go make some music.

  • @juaniluco888

No worries about crashing any party. I just can't seem to understand how you think that note that you highlighted is an E. Especailly since you have PP.

  • Somebody back me up here! 40 is a low D, and Gavin said D........ I don't know how you are hearing an E there, I guess by this point you are probably going to stick by your comment but I sure wish someone else would click above at his link and verify that it is in Fact a D and not an E.

  • @maestrochief i have perfect pitch and it's definately a D at 0:40.

  • @maestrochief It was a D and he said D. @juaniluco888 is just being what we call a "hater". Someone who is jealous or simply likes to dish out negative energy or who's life sucks so much they have to find errors in others and bring down others to make themselves look better.

Anyways, Gavin is amazing! I'm a musician and I wish I had half his talent at his age!

  • @maestrochief It is clearly a D, i know because i have perfet pitch, and just encase i was wrong i played the note on my piano, and it is a D.

  • @maestrochief

    Totally a D at 40.

  • @maestrochief Yep. That's a D. I have perfect pitch, and I love it! I'm surprised to see he's a good drummer too. Drums were my first instrument!

    Rock On, Gavin!

  • @maestrochief I listened to the video and you are correct, it is a D its not an E. The other guy I am not sure why he is saying it is an E but I have perfect pitch and the kid got it all right. Honestly I'm a little jealous but hope you understand.

  • @maestrochief it's a D. That guy's a prick.

  • @maestrochief You are right, it's a D...

  • @maestrochief GUYS, I HAVE PERFECT PITCH AND HE CLEARLY PLAYED D!!!!! OMG IF YOU HUM E WHILE PLAYING HE IS PLAYING D IT SOUNDS NOTHING ALIKE!!!!! GREAT VID MAN, YOUR SON IS TRULY TALENTED! :)

  • @maestrochief I've gotta be honest that sounded like an E to me as well

  • @maestrochief

I have perfect pitch too, but like others said before me, there's no need to have perfect pitch to recognize that this low note is clearly, and without a single doubt, a D!

  • @maestrochief Yeah, it definitely was a D.

  • @maestrochief It's a D indeed ;) , but it's hard to hear.

  • @maestrochief

Its D, yes! the kid is a phenomenon!

  • @maestrochief

I heard E but I am sure he meant D. On the spot and all that.

  • @juaniluco888 its a D

  • @juaniluco888 False. It's a D. No mistakes.

  • @juaniluco888 that's a D, bro. i have perfect pitch.

  • @juaniluco888 I think people who have perfect pitch should be famous by making music by replaying already composed pop songs and making it their own. They should be the ones to replace Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber. Just voicing my opinion.

  • @nihalmessages

:S You can train perfect pitch and lady gaga and guys might even have a pretty good pitch sense. But i dont get why pop stars should be replaced by trained ears? Dont get it at all

  • @jeeaaman Pop stars have no musicial ability these days and their music is boring. I can't stand Lady Gaga. I just believe that those who have perfect pitch can copy a song and make millions out of their remake. Of course it would be better if artists write their own music instead of remaking a song.

  • @nihalmessages That"s retared how would that be any better than what they already play that would just be mimicking the song and what about the singing not everyone with perfect pitch can sing and making it thier own you would have to add stuf or transpose the piece and thatÈs not excclusive to perfect pitch people with realative pitch could do it to my point is to creat new stuff not rehash.

  • @juaniluco888 lol I kinda trained to get perfect pitch too. Not able to get entire melodies yet but I get individual notes now. And yeah it's a D...

  • @juaniluco888 it's a D, for "D'uh"

  • lol funny

  • I wished my dad would have learn me stuff like that younger, thats great.

  • This is not absolute pitch. Absolute pitch is where he can produce a note (by singing it) with NO reference to the piano. It's great pitch recognition though - as good as me at that age!

  • @Certif1ed Thanks for the comment. He can do that too! And very easily.. He never needs a reference.

  • @Certif1ed someones jealous

  • @scottydscottd I'm only jealous because he's younger... I could hardly be jealous of someone with the same abilities as myself now, could I? /grin. All I was doing was correcting what I perceived as the common mistake people make of thinking that perfect and absolute pitch are the same thing. Absolute pitch is far, far rarer. I welcome your son to the club.

  • @Certif1ed I know you wrote this comment several months ago but I just wanted to point out that you're wrong. Absolute pitch and perfect pitch are the same thing. What you think is perfect pitch is actually relative pitch.

  • he will never need to work for his whole life . instant star

  • damn

  • Sweet! I have it too! BTW, I was just wondering, did he know that those scales you were playing were a C blues scale and a C whole-tone scale? I know you told him to name the actual notes, but I just wanted to know if he knew that or not.

  • I was just like him..and lost it all at puberty. Now I'm average.

  • man no offense but that kid looks scared and bored as heck, almost like he's afraid that his dad's gonna beat him if he didn't do well. I have a feeling if he was an asian kid with an asian parent, everyone would be giving him a lotta bad remarks.

  • wow i wish i had the talent you have , but im hoping , that you gonna use it the right way since god gave you something that not everyone possesses (sorry for my bad english)

gonna hope to see something in future and show my kids that i saw you growing up haha :)

    best of luck from germany

  • get him a guitar trust me theres a reason im saying that

  • I HAVE PERFECT PITCH!

  • did he learn that or was did he already have perfect pitch?

  • u cant learn perfect pitch, ur born with it.

  • @tmiya88

right. YOU are born with it, and so does everybody :) Perfect pitch is very human, so every human is born with it. However, it is up to each one to develop it or not.

Sound = color = wave = frequency, that the brain gives a name..Each brain can do that, except of some special cases which are extreme minority

  • See, this is perfect pitch. This is something youre born with. I wish people would realize this instead of being scamed by all the PP course that tell you you can "develop this ability" You either have this or you do not. Keep up the good work kiddo. Nice to see someone who has this ability. What I hate is the scammers who try and rip people off by selling them on the idea that this can be developed.

  • @alexmcginness

In what way can perfect pitch not be developed? From what I understand, perfect pitch is being able to recognize notes as they are played.

If you hear a sound repeatedly and begin to associate it with a name, perfect pitch should be very possible. I know middle C and the C Major Scale (do-re-mi-fa-sol-la-ti) from hearing it played so often and I'm far from having perfect pitch.

Some people just seem to associate the sounds better and younger.

  • He is simply a miracle from nature.... Gavin Amadeus welcome to life....

    Diego

    Mexico city

  • simply amazing.. very proud of you mate. keep on going!! (but remember not to get to obsesed with music, it's another wonderful life expression. don't get too self-critic, just the bit you need to grow. ENJOY MUSIC SO WE WILL LISTENING

    thanks life

  • wow he is fast! I need like 10 seconds before spitting it out. I guess that's the benefit of growing up around a piano

  • Gavin, your dad and I dreamed to have your talent. You're on a level that we could never achieve.

    I'm very proud of you!

    UD

  • Great To hear from you Brother D.....Thanks for checking on G..

  • when he transposes that song to different keys, is that demonstrating that he has relatie pitch as well? at like 3:50?

  • At this point, we have not talked about relative pitch, or intervals such as 4ths or 5ths. Everything he hears is absolute, and he seems to pick out notes even in complex chords. Thanks for the comment!

  • Gavin, I think you are incredible, and I know personally how good you are! I have heard you on the drums and the piano, and we are very proud of you!

  • Gavin, you SCARE me.

    Brilliant!!

  • Gavin you ROCK! Why don't ya start writing music? :)

  • wow hes quick...nearly quicker than me :P well done hes gonna do well in music :D make sure when you train him he trains the muscles in fingers 3-4-5 e.g. trilling, and he will be amazing

hes one of the quickest iv seen on youtube other than me :D what a living legend!

  • no offense to the video response this is on, but Gavin is far better than the girl was. I highly doubt the other younger girl could pick out the double notes and higher and especially at the speed that he does it here. Incredible job! :D

  • Unbeliveable! Can this be taught?

  • Great job g. You are the man!

  • Amazing!

  • Way to go G-man. You are doing an awesome job with the piano. We can't wait to see you this week. Avery is really looking forward to playing with you.
