@iheartkathyy that is easy to do. however, if you are someone with aging then you would most likely benefit from fillers or fat instead since the aging process is a reflection of deflation. if you are Asian, then watch my video on the aging asian eyelid. just search for that with my name on youtube.
not all asian have small eyes or mono eyelid .. remember india, indonesia, pakistan etc etc are asian too~ .. they have such a big eyes, dont be stereotyping guys ..
i understand why asians get this done. im not asian but i do have swollen looking eyes and it is uncomfortable feeling the skin under ur eyebrows hang over and people think u look tired or like u just cried. i would like to get surgery done just to feel better about my eyes
@bellamcwatch interestingly you might need a fat transfer instead. what feels swollen oftentimes is deflation. filling it with fat or fillers can actually create the appearance of lifting. check out my fat transfer photos on lamfacialplastics [dot com].
is it really worth all this just for another eye lid? im not trying to judge but can someone tell me plz why asains get this done? to look prettier or to look less asian?
@CampGravatt123 i obviously think so. they look less sleepy and more open eyed. but they still look 100% asian. they just look less ethnic with very narrow eyes if you understand what i am saying.
i dont really get .i m asian with double lids and think monolids are cute ..whats special about double..monolids are rare ..unique..i wish i had monolids
@indonesianly it takes one week to remove the stitches and my recovery take 2 month to reduce the swollen. but it take years to look normal.. normally it will look better better and better... sorry for my broken English i'm from Singapore.

@mzluv2dance agreed. this is to show the RECOVERY not the results. i just want you to see how it looks during the first week of recovery which is GOD AWFUL looking. thanks for the comments.
@sadbunny123 Whether we like it or not, the desirable double eyelid is based on beauty standards and those beauty standards tend to be a Western view.
@rinko123 no, not at all. this is only a week diary. it is meant to show the recovery process. she does not live in dallas so i do not have an end to show. just want you to see the recovery process.
was she awake during the procedure? did it hurt during the procedure and what about when the stitches were taken out? i want to get the surgery done but i have 0 pain tolerance
@eeeleee9898 that is what i do different. 99% of these are done awake. i do this with sedation since i have a fully accredited surgery center on site. also, when i remove sutures at a week, i use specialized scissors so there really is no pain plus i use lidocaine jelly so you can't feel it when i remove the sutures. finally, i do all the suture removals myself with loupe magnification.
i am about to get mine in south korea seoul.. cost about $4,000 is that reasonable?
and.. i am very very nervous about the healing process =(
i am so scared . i already have a small crease and people think that i got surgery for it. however i want them bigger because when i open my eyes.. you cant see the crease. and i want them to be more visible.
i am very nervous about the swelling how are they about in a month ? i have school in a month so i dont want them to be obvious. =/
@JustSwe3t hi, swelling is variable and depends on the surgeon and his technique. you must ask your surgeon about that. prices are also very variable. i don't think 4k is unreasonable. best of luck with your procedure.
most probably incision, i will have consultation this weekend. about the scarring, are they like every scar that it'd be obvious if you close your eyes that there would be that line of the incision.? =o
@JustSwe3t yes it will always be there. source= my friend. she had hers done u can always see the line but trust me its not gonna matter u blink reall yfast no one will notice.
@chinigirlX3 i had my german patient care coordinator translate what you wrote. i am the physician who posted this video not the woman who had it done. i do not speak german either. best wishes with your procedure.
@greenpalaka she is not from dallas. she is from another country but came to dallas for her procedure and is shown the week after the procedure, obviously with quite a bit of swelling left.
You have wonderful eyes, but my I say something? As a Filipina, I have seen many asians (specifically Southeastern Chinese, Okinawan, Taiwanese, Indo, Filipino) that have natural eyelid creases. Ive even seen Japanese women with natural creases that are deep and large. The point is giving one an eyelid doesn't make you look non-asian, it just makes you look like an asian with an eyelid.
@SynCity13 I agreed with you. I came from Southeastern Asian and I have eyelid creases. Pretty common where I came from the double eyelid and the one eyelid is like every other that has it since we once reside in china.
Omg her eyes look soo sore:( she should just be happy with herself, she's absolutly beautiful. Iv got to say though I'm glad I'm western and hav a double eyelid:P Lol xx
lmao it doesnt make your eyes round, what it does, if you close one eye, often european people have what is called a double eyelid, where it appears as though there is a second eyelid, that in some individuals can be retracted and closed over the first eyelid. asian people often do not have this, instead on closing there eyes, there eyelid skin is flush with the rest of their faces skin, ie no crease etc.
@daenumen yes correct. however, without a skin to muscle attachment to make the crease, asians without a crease have their fat sit very low on the eyelid margin, making the eye narrower in appearance and puffier.
i think its a combination of genetic factors, being the expression of a strong brow ridge, and inheritable genetic traits defining the formation of double eyelids after birth. again these may be due to the emerging prominence of the brow as the cranial bones take shape.
@jeepboyfly it looks fake because it is only less than a week out. it takes months before it looks natural. the point of the video is only to show you the recovery process.
so is it, the higher the crease, the longer it takes to heal right? ive been doing alot of research for doctors, since im thinking of getting mine's done. did u have to put any kind of medicine/treatment on it? what about pain killers? lol. sorry i ask a lot of questions, i'm just worry and very scare. BTW, HOW MUCH DID IT COST???
the incision was made about 7 mm above the eyelashes. this should translate into a result that is only about 1 to 2 mm at most at a year following the procedure.
i'm glad you think so. this is only a day out. it will look fake for about a month or two then settle down. it will look much more natural after 3 months and perfectly natural by 1 year.
it's always goodlooking people who only want to look better with Plastic Surgery.
To most people they would really ask why she had them done.
But at the end of the day, if it makes you happy i think we should go for it.People that get Plastic Surgery should just say i want to be better looking.
Just wondering, is it possible for asians to have a blepharoplasty surgery without the fold ? Like if it's droopy and this person just wants some fat or skin removed, is that possible? Because I've never seen or heard of an asian do this surgery without getting the fold. Thanks !
I don't think so. I know that most old caucasians women I know get blepharoplasty and get it covered by insurance because it is apparently "necessary" for vision. The blespharoplasty involves cutting excess skin along the fold line. But for asians to get blepharoplasty, a surgeon would have to creat the fold line...there is no other line cut and stich. The ironic thing for asians is that if they try to get the blepharoplasty in old age due to sagging skin, it often leaves terrible scars and
doesn't heal well, and if they don't get the surgery, they are left with sagged eyes that impair vision. So if you think about the unpreventable future of sagging eyes and impaired vision, it's recommended to get the double eyelid surgery before age 30 for the line heals better and scars less. Once this line is initially made, the normal blepharoplasty will be easier for asian old folks, and will be covered by insurance!
fantastic question. i have made this into my lecture crusade to educate doctors on the subtleties of understanding aging asian eyelids. i divide them into aging asian eyelids with a natural crease, without a crease, and with a previously surgically created crease. since i can't put a link on here to my website, just type in on youtube "aging asian eyelid" and you will see all my thoughts (which are complex) on this subject.
Okay thanks cuz i used this "glue" for asian eyelids for a while to try and see what would happen..all it did was make my eyes droopier; i'm really upset. I'm 17 btw..i just want my eyes to be how they were. But i guess i need the fold; I don't want anything dramatic though, just something little so my eyes don't look droopy, but not different either..i wanna look the same. This cleared everything up, thankyou! But wait, i'm gunna get scars? :( I plan on getting it after I graduate high school.
okay thanks so much. one more question, sorry! I heard there was the laser surgery that they can do instead. Is that better? Will that leave a less visible scar mark? thankyou =)
there are so many ways to do epicanthal folds that i can't tell you about your friend's situation. also, it is not appropriate for me to comment on the recovery of a patient of another doctor. thank you for the question.
