  • He looks better as a man....more then he does as B-Slade.

  • what's the name of the song at @2:00??

  • @Magnuomoliticus Its at the top of the screen :\ But its Why? (Live)

  • He has great mix voice, I didn't hear him never, I hope he can sing live and I think that he can hit higher notes, but definitely not lower :)

  • @Fangir120 Actually most of these notes are from his live album, Out The Box. And he has gone as low as a D2.. You can hear his vocal range for his alter ego B. Slade in the video responses for this video :)

  • What's the song at the end? "Like a sun to a flower I live by your grace".

  • @DemitriPetPet Men of Standard ft. J.Moss - Feels Like Rain

  • Gb2? Shouldn't that be G#2

  • I Love this man!

  • he has an ex-wife?

  • @iWurk. Really. Lol. Close your comments if you get offended so fast. Not that I care, or will I reply to future attacks from the host, but obviously I enjoyed your video, being that I watched it. I also read your post, so obviously I wasnt referring to any errors on your part. I was referring to those like (ymanisedona) who aren't aware of that fact, and those who watch other videos with that error. If you are knowledgeable and have your video properly notated, then nice nasty isn't warranted.

  • @chicanery10 I was just saying. No need to write paragraphs.

  • Tonex is a vocal tornado of endless talents. But everyone is very mistaken on the seasons vamp. At 2:52, that is Eyvette (however spelled). Not Tonex. If you closely observe the vocal tone at the key change, you will here that she takes the song at the vamp after he finishes the verses. She is also a vocal power house. But highly underrated. He has the highest range of all the male recording gospel artist by far, but that isn't him singing that part. Somebody please give that woman her props.

  • @chicanery10 Thank you for your comment.... But we established that last year -__-

  • 0:55 yess!

  • DAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Wow, crazy !

  • 2:10-2:57...smh. I idnt know that was possible!

  • The best singer ever ! Watch him live ! >> /watch?v=Ip2liV90yK4

  • This dude can Sang!!!

  • i model my voice after him.....even though my range is 5octaves i still look up to him idc wat people think of him he is a beast and my idol

  • 0:00 to 0:14 .... enough said

  • @ThEgRoWtHsPeRt 5 octaves!!! 0_0 you're truly blessed! add me :)

  • The last high note is a D6... not D7...

  • wuz da song at da beggining

  • @MrDwhite2252 'Why? (Live)' from The Out The Box album.

  • He ought to do a project with Chaka Kahn. I think , with the right material , they could make wonderful music together.

  • He as 4 Octaves

  • .....That really didn't sound like a D7 at all....

  • @TheJaredThingy That's Men of Standard - Feels Like Rain ft. J. Moss

  • i didn't even hear a D7 in this vid. the last high note sounded like a C#6 or D6..

  • he is a BEASTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT

  • that D7 was him i saw him do it when he performed seasons life @ a gospel fest in stockton ca

  • yh they're both wicked

  • @iwurk oh well i cant really tell the difference anyway

  • @TheHighscale Me either lol that's why I put it in the video... Because it sounds like a run he would do. Then I had to go back and listen to it

  • @TheHighscale I can tell the difference. Yvette's vibrato's slightly slower than his, and her voice has more of a full sound, Ton3x's voice is more thin and nasally. They both can sang though

  • honestly speaking how would any1 know if it was him or not that did the D7...in my opinion unless u were there and saw his ex wife do it all of u need to keep quiet

  • @TheHighscale His wife was the only one singing during that part of the song

  • The run from :37-:41......OMG!!! just ridiculous lol

  • Not human

  • thanks for the correction.. cause i was like ... I'm sure thats yvette,,,, lol.. granted her and tonex's ranges are pretty much comparable to one another's... hers is just as low if not lower and his is just as high if not higher

  • that was not a d7...it was propably a d6..but not d7..

wow he's an amazing singer..i had never heard about him before.

  • Hey, Tonex is my FAVORITE singer of all time.....

  • first that wasn't D7 and second that was him singing, just not a D7

  • @WhistleKing237 Incorrect. It wasn't him singing. And whether its a D6 or D7 is irrelevant because its his ex-wife.

  • @iWurk Nope that was Tonex that hit that D6 and effortlessly too!

  • @kmaur21 It wasn't. If you listen to 'Seasons' where that part was hit, only his wife was singing.

  • @iWurk Yep, I posted a comment earlier saying the same thing. That is Yvette Williams, his ex-wife.

  • @iWurk O.

  • Somone plz tell me the name of the last song. PLEASE!!!!!!!

  • @deeler3000 The very last song? Its called Feels Like Rain by Men of Standard ft. J. Moss

  • @iWurk Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you Thank you

  • What about ADAM LAMBERT???????

  • @89Kele He uses the same technique. Although his' are more screams than belts.

  • That was Tonex who hit that D6 not his wife. That was Tonex. Dang that range of his is sick. Him and Lashun Pace are sick with them belts.

  • Naw that note was Tonex I think h hit that D7!

  • Anyone, I would love links or keywords to get to Tonex' full voice C6s. I've heard them before on some songs of his and cannot remember which ones. Now that is range: him and Nicola Sedda. Thanks iWurk for putting the song titles... i will start with finding that one

  • 4 octaves? that is impressive, especially the fact he can reach to a C6...the high soprano range!

  • I am a male soprano myself, and Tonex gave me confidence that a male singer with a soprano range is a Blessing and not a Curse!

  • amazing...i've always loved his music

  • that D7 is a D6...wonderful range!

  • Not too many people can touch Tonex.

  • @iWurk What??!!! No way. god help him. ={

  • @iWurk omdays! That is crazy. :( I cant imagine what hes goin through right now..

  • @iWurk Omds, his Mams has passed too? OH glory. Whats goin on with him now? :(

  • @lFrenzied Yea. She passed away in December. He kinda shut down; deleting all his music from Youtube, Myspace, Twitter, he took down his main site and etc. We haven't heard from his since.

  • @lFrenzied He sounds like Chrystal rucker in the beginning, and he can sing lower than that!

  • @iWurk Omds, his Mams has passed too? OH glory. Whats goin on with him now? :(

  • Comment removed

  • yes, pleasee. :)

  • Can you upload these PLEASE PLEASE?

  • Ive been dying for a vocal range vid on this dude. I started speaking in tongues when i saw it. A few notes were labelled incorrectly. The last note was not a D7, it was a C#6, and that was his ex-wife Yvette Williams singing. However i have a clip of him singing a C#6: Heartfixa.

  • @getmeacheezecakeplz Yea I discovered that was his ex wife. But that's still a D7.

  • @iWurk No disrespect, but WhO??? could belt a D7? lol Yvette has a lot of treble in her vocals, it was a D6 but she made it sound extremely higher with her tone. Still an excellent vid. And where did you get the pictures?

  • @getmeacheezecakeplz That was not belted lol. She screamed it. And I played that note on my piano, plus matched it up with Mariah's D7 and they were synonymous. But I got the pics from Google lol

  • @getmeacheezecakeplz lol some can get to a D7 in full voice - SOME, but that was definitely a belted D6, amazing soprano! What is this Yvette's last name? Are they still married.

  • @okebaram That was Tonex that hit tha D6 I know his tone and voice. Anyway Emperor has a video where Tonex battling Karen Clark Sheard and he does a C6# D6 there anyway at the end. His range is retarded and hit that D6 like nothing! I would not be surprised if he could whistle to a D7!!!!!!!!!!

  • @kmaur21 can you give me the link to that video and any other ones you know of where he gets that high?

And check out his range on this recent video: watch?v=3TJLQPtPAs8

  • @okebaram In that video you posted, that was an A5. He's able to belt those notes because he uses a technique called reinforced falsetto. That's why it has that piercing sound. But I do know he has hit notes in the sixth octave in his song 'Enough' and on his latest mixtape Dawn O Unicorn, on a song called 'Secret Admirer'

  • @iWurk Yeah I know it's an A5, that's why I am still trying to find his C6s. It's still a very impressive A5, and mind you I am very much into voice analysis. You are wrong about his technique. Those notes were not "reinforced falsetto", that is in full voice. The CORRECT reason he is able to do that is a combination of his naturally WIDE vocal range and his skill.

  • @okebaram Actually I'm not. It is nearly impossible for a male to belt anything above C5 in full voice. He just mixes his voice so well that it appears to be his full voice. His vocal range is a wide for a male, but its not THAT wide to able to belt A5 in full voice. He's not Patti.

  • @iWurk Buddy, I am a baritone... a low baritone with not-the-best voice, and I can belt a G#5 in chest voice on a really good day. On an average day, I can belt an F5. I also happen to know with distinctive clarity, even when others cannot, whether a note I hear is in full voice or not, and you may not believe it but you are definitely wrong.

  • @okebaram I study Vocal Arts at UT and its not possible. Belting is done for males either in your chest or mixed register. High tone belting for males or females almost every time is related to falsetto/head voice. You have to look at how the sound is produced, not what it sounds like. And PLEASE post a video of you doing so.

  • @iWurk studying vocal arts and even if you have all the degrees does not make you right. But we'll agree to disagree. My voice is not fantastic enough for me to post a video of me singing... but maybe one day.

  • @okebaram And just because you THINK you know what something is doesn't make you right either.

  • @iWurk

Chris Cornell back in the day belted in full voice above C5 constantly. Head voice =/= Falsetto. Head Voice = Full voice. Falsetto, however, is not.

  • @Danerage That's NOT full voice. Full voice = loudest, most resonate and maximum capacity of the human voice; which is almost ALWAYS in their chest or mixed registers for males.

I'm not familiar with Chris but I'm positive he wasn't belting above a C5 in full voice.

  • @iWurk tkx letting me know bout the Brian Slade album... It's kinda a lil funky but i also like the Protransolutionary album. so again tkx, chow

  • Tonex Good @ Hitting Those High Notes

  • NICE pic on :24

  • That wasn't a d7 that was barely in the 6 octave and not even a whistle note

  • @abcsweet Proof? That's clearly a whistle.

  • @iWurk no that is not whislte. I think the person of this video ment to say D6 and not seven.

  • That "D7" was a C#6.

  • @alcoholharmony It can't be. I played it on my piano numerous of times and its a D7. I even compared it to Mariah's D7 and they are synonymous.

  • @iWurk I have a program called Vocal Lab for Mac and it labels the notes according to pitch and key.

I played that note and it was a C#6.

For a MAN to hit that note in his mix is asinine.

Check Rochelle Farrell's D7. That coming from a man would barely have sound.

Matter of fact, search "Durand Bernarr Vocal Range" and listen to that C#6.

It's the same note as that "D7". It's not as high as you think.

Maybe you're going by the keyboard's D7 and not the vocal D7.

    I made that mistake before.

  • @alcoholharmony That wasn't his mix. That was a whistle... But I just played it against Rachelle Farrell and they are still synonymous! lmaoo But I'll look into it.

  • What song was that vocal run in the beginning from?

  • @89Kele

  • @89Kele Why? (Live) from his Out of The Box album.

  • Tonex is SEXY :).. praise God!

  • @classyk100 yes he Is...i could eat hiim up with some Holy Ghost Hot Sauce!!!

  • @classyk100 Thumbs down lol sexy praise G-D ur silly

  • Nice done!

  • awesome vid. Only one problem, that wasn't Ton3x hitting that not in Seasons. That was his ex-wife Yvette Williams

  • @zingalom exactly thats what i've been trying to tell the person who posted the video and for some reason they didn't wanna post my comment.

  • @zingalom @r1ck3y I guess I wasn't paying attention to the song... But I'll make the note of it. Thankx

  • good job on this video. Tonex = beast

  • His voice is EVERYTHING!!!

  • He has a great voice. His belts remind me of Chaka's.

  • @DAlmond123 funny story, i heard one of his songs on the radio and i was like why am i hearing Chaka on the gospel station lol.

  • & yeah, I think that was a D6. He mixes really well too, most males who mix are extremely heady to the point, you can barely tell their belting or have chest mixed with it, or it comes out sounding really heady, but he sounds great mixing. His giving me all iNEED!

  • @LifeisMusic07 It's a D7. I played it on my keyboard numerous of times lol I even went to Mariah's D7 and they were pitch perfect together. Plus, it's too high to be a D6 when compared to his C6.

But yasss! He is the master of mixing. Especially when he belting. And his voice is so versatile and controlled!

  • @iWurk hmm, ok, lol

  • HE BETTA SANG! He's Amazing! I mean all his range is on point, normally people only have select parts of their range that are great, & the rest is weak or wishy washy, but he slayed throughout all his range!

  • That was D6.
