The correct person would have been imprisoned for the murder if the people involved did their fucking job. I'm not going to be saying that they should have been doing their job correctly because there is only one way to do their job, otherwise that is cause for termination. Maybe you want to go visit the person in prison and try to get answers to why they kill. You will find no answers doing that. There will be nothing different from years before when people decided to start killing for no reason other than a crazy person got bored.

With DNA evidence placing a person at the seen of the crime and the witness testimony as the icing to seal the deal all of the convict's lies won't help them these days I say a good razor sharp sword would be better than using a bullet. A drunk swordsman would make it a nice painful way to go for the convict though and it may be even a bit comical how many times it takes to lob off the head of a serial killer.

there's agreat website with photos of Chinese street executions from the early 1900's. Some of the heads are caught in mid-flight as they fall to the ground. Suppose they were like the sporting action photos of their time.

Well I gues everyone is entitiled to their opinion, the death penalty never did anything other than to make sure the individual never did it again. Never acted as the so called " deterent " as it was supposed to be, it was nothing more than judicial revenge.

And of course once in a while they would fuck up ( the British system that is ) and hang some poor soul that was innocent, Bentley, Evans etc. Pity that the days of life at hard labour are gone, but that would be against prisoners rights ?

If you do a web search for escaped killer, escaped murderer, and the like, you find page after page of poster children for the death penalty. Pretty much just that simple for me.

Longdrop hanging rarely causes instantaneous death - only if C1 is snapped and heart stopped. It is thought damage to m. oblongata causes instant coma, but this is not certain. Clinical hangmans' fractures rarely cause immediate coma, you just cannot breath. It's very possible people suffering this would be conscious for some time, and death is usually caused by asphyxiation, same as short drop or no drop hanging.

It's not possible to know how long a victim was conscious for that 20 mins.

I disagree... sure that person might have killed or raped someone, but don't you think that by executing them, you are punishing their family? it's their family that will have to live with the grief of losing a relative. I know the victims family would be feeling the same, but its not fair to punish someones family for what their child/brother/sister or whatever did... atleast if they're in prison the family can still visit. Killing a criminal is an easy way out for them, let them rot in prison.

@Gillyyorkie If a country has capital punishment, it is considered as cruel. An eye for an eye and the world goes blind. Over 300 Million US$ are spend per executed, due to security reasons and other things in California (ORF). Sometimes people are proved as innocent post mortem, so they executed an innocent. How will you garantee that the "subject" has really commited that crime? Humans make errors and I'm glad that at least in Europe there is no hanging. I love to pay for justice, not revenge.

superb,have always been fascinated by methods of execution,hanging in particular,this film brought the subject to life more than any book i have read,you can almost feel you are there,especially when the hood goes on.the only dispute i have is that executions usually took place on a tuesday or wednesday,never at the weekend,have you done anything similar?

. Don't know what days they had executions. Suppose it made sense to do them on weekdays...less of a crowd would show up outside the jail I guess.
