  • Early on in Batman's history, he would kill criminals. Then, when censors cracked down on the industry, he got a no-kill rule. Michael Keaton's Batman has a story-arc that leads to him instituting that no-kill rule in Batman Returns (it's subtle, but it's there). Besides, Batman '89 was significantly darker than any portrayal non-comic readers had seen at the time.

Personally, I thought Superman Returns following off of the 1970s was one of the good parts of it, although I do agree about Lex.

  • people who say that batman wasn't dark in the comics needs to shove a stick down their throats. or they can just read the Dark Knight Returns and to anyone who is reading this comment, i highly recommend the dark knight returns. its awesome.

  • If you made movies for just people who read comics then you'd be selling to a tiny subculture of already very picky people, and they'd have to be low budget and direct to video.

And Weapon 11 was a clone of Deadpool, not the actual character, who shows up after the credits.

  • if they made the movies specifically to please the comic book fans they wouldn't make as much money, they are selfish money grabbers....

  • The people who made deadpool for the movie played too much mortal kombat.

  • EXTREME!!!

  • I agree with them completely destroying Deadpool. it was such a shame that one of the best characters ever made is now a mouthless crapshit.

  • Its this simple, people who dont know anything about nuclear fusion shouldn't talk about how to build A-bombs, people who never read Shakespeare shouldn't lecture about romeo and juliet and people who dont read comic books shouldn't talk shit about fanboy's legitimate complaints.

I have to say I agree with everything ryubaek had to say in this video, he definitely deserves more views, keep talkin sense dude.

  • by your logic a movie that is identical to a god-awful comic would be successful because it is faithful to the source material

  • What do you know about logic ? what fucking logic is there in making a film from a comic book that people dont like and never made a penny ? there isn't any !

What you have to ask is why are certain comics so popular and lucrative that some hack wants to make a movie out of it ? is it because the original material that attracted all those fans is what people actually want ? the only reason these fucks make these movies is because of the ready made audience.

  • When are they going to make a Cap Wolf film 8)

  • Your statement that only the opinions of comic readers should matter is simply ridiculous. These films are not comics, they are films and if anything, then only the opinion of filmmakers or educated film critics should count.

These movies should be successful or fail on their own merit not because they are fathful or not to the source material, they are inspired by or based on the comics not a reproduction of them

  • Your statement is ridiculous! how can something be successful or not on its own merits when the only reason it exists is because of the popularity of the original source material, without the comic there is no movie.

These movies are made because of the fans, we like the original stuff, its what we pay for and what makes them money, so you can see why they shouldn't fuck around with the recipe for the sake of artistic license.

People who dont know what they are talking about should zip it.

  • Thank you, friend! Totally with you on the Batman films. -Natalie
