Jazz-Saxofonist Johnny Griffin gestorben 26.7.2008 Wenige Stunden vor einem Konzert ist der US-Jazz-Saxofonist Johnny Griffin im Alter von 80 Jahren gestorben. Seine Agentin erklärte, die Ehefrau habe Griffin tot im Musikzimmer seines Hauses in Mauprevoir/F gefunden. Er hatte noch am Montag ein Konzert in Hyeres gegeben. Griffin wurde in Chicago geboren und spielte mit Lionel Hampton, Thelenious Monk und John Coltrane. In den 60er Jahren zog er nach Frankreich.
