3) Lsck of Parent Involvement. The poster is correct about this to some degree. Unfortunately many parents feel getting their kids to school is enough. But when the majority of teachers are poorly qualified, and outright socialist hacks, you MUST be involved in your schools/district to make a difference.
2) Teachers Unions. This is a direct result of #1 (Liberals). They use these unions to purchase politicians that will protect them and give them benefits that are too great. Tenure is a very bad idea emanating from these unions. They protect terrible leftist teachers that lie to the kids about history and the USA. Many of these teachers are barely literate, but the union protects them, and forces the purchase of leftist school books. They have also pushed even the mention of God from our schools
@svvmichael1 teachers aren't marxist, they are people who are generally intelligent.... dont blame open minded people....and why should god be glorified in school? it shouldn't. Who said teachers dont support capitalism? ugh... you generalize way to much
@wingwaabuddha A large amount of teachers are near Marxist, which is bad. It isn't open-mindedness. I am very open-minded, and have investigated socialism. It is a ridiculous system. So, those Marxist teachers are ACTUALLY very close-minded. And God needs to be allowed in schools. When he was, the worst problems in schools was gum-chewing and talking. Now (after kicking him out) the main problems are drugs, teen-pregnancy, and fighting.
Three things have destroyed many (not all) school systems.
1) Liberals. Liberals designated the schools as their best way to indoctrinate. This started 75+ years ago. 80%+ of teachers at any level are near Marxists who really don't understand what they are teaching. They don't understand that capitalism has proven to be far better than every other economic system that has ever been tried. They don't know/understand history. They also have a deep hatred for America, and this is what they teach.

Absolutely. I mean, I'm a pretty smart girl. I made a nearly perfect score on my GED test, but when I was in high school I was all C's and D's. Why? My parents really didn't care what I did as long as I didn't piss them off or get in the way. In reality, I even WANTED to do good at school and learn, but without structure and motivation from my parents it didn't matter. As a teenager with a terrible home life, I was distracted and could not bring myself to do my best.
@Salvysahagun that is changing, which has good and bad coming with it. Teachers are given very strict guidelines, leaving no room for creativity, which is bad thing. It's really not the teachers, never has been. Education starts at home, if you don't have a solid foundation, you can't really move up. There is plenty of structure at the school, perhaps too much, but no structure at home. I would say the overall reason is parent involvement, though maybe in your personal life its different
I'm glad to see that there are these types of videos on the net that actually matter. Instead of an idiot with a high pitched voices talking about beeing in a pool, or an idiot with ugly hair talking about lady gagas new dress (fred and dawson)
Having the parent involved should already be stuck in peoples minds, sadly they aren't. But another thing I believe as to why public schools really don't get anywhere is because the Government really doesn't care about the poor. Sadly it's true. At least that's my opinion. But there is still other numerous reasons as to why education here in America sucks. But I would like to home school my future children. {sighs} The parent should just be involved, period. That you are defiantly right about.
you are so right, but you know what ? school doesn't want parents to be involve. i was one parents who try to get inthere but i was turned away each time.
Better than food: sexy teachers wearing hot outfits. Just be a little, erm, biased about who we hire and the parents will flock to the schools.
The only problem I can see is that if the kids are too old then it will become distracting. But perhaps then they would end up doing better to impress their sexy teachers. Teachers are complicit in this too, they need to act as though they're really hot for high-performing students. Make being smart sexy.
@StabbyRaccoon you know that is actually a good idea. Won't happen, but again it makes sense. Sometimes the most simple solution is the most obvious lol. thanks for comment
I was homeschooled by my parents, and i worked my ass off to get good grades, because my parents made me......so i could get somewhere in life.... and now I'm a med-student in a University....so what you say is absolutely true....

American school teachers teach 3 hours worth of stuff over 3 years. so jokes.

Is actually because of the faliure of structure.
Every teacher pretty much designs the course load and difficulty level of the school.
I did good in some high school classes because the teacher had a structured ciriculum.
Sorry its the teachers
