Good eye. Yes the collision resolution is still a bit glitchy between tiles. Most of it has been worked out, but I won't know for sure until I have definitive bounding box sizes and can watch for specific weirdness.
And yeah, the art scheme will likely be much brighter, more acidic actually.
No I'm not, but I had help on each. For the physics, the platformer starter kid had an "ok" implemenation that I basically reworked and improved upon. I learned bit about the particle engine from Building XNA 2.0 Games: A Practical Guide for Independent Game Development, and heavily modified the particle manager provided to fit my personal framework.
so do you have a lot of programming experience so far? i don't have any..except for the gamemaker some years ago.. i wanne give it a try myself and create a 2d sidescroller with paralax scrolling...somewhat like odin sphere or the new one from vanilla ware..quite ambitious, but who knows what might be :)
Yeah, I've been programming for a while now. Digging into XNA and whatnot is a great way to make games, but it does demand a decent amount of programming knowledge. If you are really interested I would recommend learning C#, checking out XNA, then maybe graduating to C++ and DirectX if you find you really enjoy it.
man your engine works great! how long did you spend building it? are you running it on the pc only, or will you convert it to xbox as well? kind of envy you, coz i don't really understand programming..it's all but a mystery to me :p
Thank you for kind words! I've been working on this engine for almost a month now give or take. And yeah, once the level editor is complete and more gameplay is programmed, I'm planning on an Xbox release =)
thats one good programmer

They're just temp assets, although that would be awesome.

That is excellent work. Are you using any existing APIs to handle physics or particle rendering?
