  • Hey used the both about the same price and I'd go mkt, and not wild about the dash or seats in the flex. I but visibility in the mkt is subpar.

  • I like both just as well.

  • That's one of the best looking fronts out there. I love the back too.

  • um 375 hp? since when? try 355

  • Flex Flex this Flex Flex that. Whats wrong with this reviewer? Just goes to show that the lowest standard is the American standard.

  • the reviewer sucks! the motor puts out 355 hp not 375! the sho is the only car from ford that puts out more than 355 and it's rated at 365hp. also the interior and dash panel in the mkt is 100%different from the flex also all the sheet metal is diff. also has a taller final drive ratio! DIFFERENT VEHICHLE!!!! how can a car testing proffetional be so misinformed?

  • @gert94ls

Uhh no,. Have you ever heard of a Mustang GT? And the Super Snake is sold by Ford from Shelby. That's 800 Horses right there.

  • I agree, this reviewer is high. I would pay $7000 just for the style improvements over the boxy flex. Higher end cars should not have to conform to meet functional standards. When is the last time someone talked about leg room when reviewing a Mercedes or Cayenne?

  • Wack...

  • I just purchased my New MKT from my Portland dealer, it's the Red color and I must say...WOW ! What a stunner ! I'm blessed to beable to even own one yes but, It's just such a mesmerizing vehicle, why I just got 5 comments from strangers while I pulled into the OSJL store in Sanford. I tell you, people WILL talk and stare, and I LOVE IT !

  • @MrWanderful1979 sanford fl? and congrats

  • what is the music @ 0:01?

  • BTW, I'm 6'2" and I was able to sqeeze into the last rear seat. I would never actually ride back there, but it could be done. Best for small people and kids. So I wouldn't say it's unusable.

  • I sat in the MKT and the Q7 this wknd. I'm an Audi guy (have bought 2) and I have to say that the MKT was nicer. The styling is very bold and love it or hate it, but its very refined, inside and out. The interior was better in the MKT. That's quite a statement for me to admit.

  • flex is ugly that is sexy, lincoln always has unique rear ends meaning taillights ect

  • First of all this vehicle is AMAZING! SIMPLY PUT and And Of Course Its $11,000 More Its A Lincoln Offering Push Button Start, Panoramic Vista Roof ( Not Some Flex Panel BS) Adaptive Cruise Control, Adaptive HID Headlights, Heated & Cooled 1st & 2nd Row Seats, So What the NAVI is OPTIONAL IT HAS A STANDARD TOUCH SCREEN RADIO & OPTIONAL THX Sound System Pushing 600 Watts (Have you heard the Flex's SONY ITS CRAP) Did I Forget You Can Open The Windows And Moonroof With The Keypad (MONEY WELL SPENT)

  • Wow! 375hp.? I thought, it was 355hp..

  • it is 355 they made a mistake.

  • @ssj4goldengogeta It might be true...because, even on Lincoln's website..., it says, the MKT have 375hp.. ;-)

  • @BklynJayL i just looked at the lincoln website under the specs and it says 355hp.

  • @ssj4goldengogeta You're right. I just saw it too. It's the Ford TaurusSHO that have more hp.. My mistake! ;-)

  • @BklynJayL yeah the taurus has 365hp with 350 pound feet of torque.

  • @ssj4goldengogeta Yeah. That's pretty good but, would've been better if, Ford would've added that 5.0 engine. ;-) I just checked out the new V6 and, V8 versions of the 'Stang, on the dyno. Those 'Stangs are putting out more hp. than FomoCo. predicted! The V6 really pumps out close to 320hp....and, the 5.0 pumps out 436hp.! Also, it's the fastest out of the 3 muscle cars, now. That's a GREAT look for Ford! ;-)

  • @BklynJayL yes indeed it is. and the reason they wouldn't put the 5.0 in the taurus is because it would've been completely shitty gas mileage in such a large car with awd. The mustang is much smaller and lighter as visually obvious and it just is getting about the same gas mileage as the sho engine in the mustang. imagine how bad it would be in a taurus. omg. lol. but i see what you're saying though.

  • @ssj4goldengogeta Yeah, that's true. I saw a new Ford Taurus, earlier 2night and, that car is HUGE! It look like. it's bigger than a BMW 7-Series! Lol.. The 5.0 would've definitely got terrible gas mileage in the Taurus...but, it also would've lowered it 0-60 time down to around 5 secs. flat or, just below it. ;-)

  • @BklynJayL yeah but they would most likely put an engine like that in the SHO and it already gets 0-60 in 5 seconds or less.

  • @ssj4goldengogeta Ford should also make a SVT or, SHO version of the Fusion/MKZ with, the TT. V6 or, a 300+hp'd. 4.6 V8(former 'Stang motor). That would be "BadAzz"!!! Better yet..., if Lincoln really want to compete with Cadillac's CTS-V, BMW M5/M5 and, Benz. AMG..., they could put that 5.0 engine in the MKZ. There goes your "HotRod" Lincoln(0-60 below 4.5 secs., easily)! ;-)

  • @BklynJayL that would all be cool. lol. but that would go against what lincoln is aiming for.

  • @ssj4goldengogeta Oh really? What's Lincoln aiming for?

  • @BklynJayL they're aiming to redefine american luxury and modernize their cars with more engaging performance and technology. They're not aiming to burn rubber like a bmw or to carve canyons. That's why the ecoboosted lincoln mks rides much softer and luxurious than a taurus sho. two different set points.

  • @ssj4goldengogeta Yeah. Make sense...but, in order for American luxury vehicles to really compete with the comp.(in which, combines luxury, speed and, performance), they'll have to do the same.

  • @BklynJayL well they're not trying to sell to everybody, just certain people. They're building a unique brand for unique people.

  • @ssj4goldengogeta Yeah. That's true. Hopefully..., that unique person or, people reconize it so, Ford sells can rise like it should(although, it already have been).

  • i agree

this shit cost the same as an Audi Q7... tell me why should i buy this overpriced-underfunctioned flex.... and it doesnt even have a seatable 3rd row..

    good luck a sales...

  • People spend an extra $10,000 all the time for badge and snob appeal upgrades.... where has this reviewer been? This was a really bad review. The title read "MKT Road Test," and they hardly even talked about how this car actually rides and handles. No talk about road noise, interior quietness, etc. Also it was poor that they failed to mention that the Flex and the MKT do not share a single piece of sheet metal, nor do they share any interior materials.

  • yup this reviewer is so arrogant, when everybody else says it's much better for value than the audi Q7 he keeps saying it's a rebranded flex...what an ass

  • @colderbeer

Nor do they even look the same lol.

  • Why the ugly grille and the name that could be an abbreviation for "Market"?

  • Lookin cool.

  • the car does remind me of a grand piano and a blue whale, but I guess I am not customer lincoln have set it their sights for this car

  • Weird,big and ulgy

  • Lincoln needs to name their cars with names not with MK everytime.

  • That's a Lincoln trademark to do so. Stands for "Mark", just like Benz and, BMW uses numbers. ;-)

  • i like it...

  • front grill is fugly and ruins it

  • Wow! 375hp. and, 0-60 time of 6.3?! Not bad..., not bad at all...not to mention, very stylish! ;-)

  • i like it i think it looks good and its pretty nice in side not the best but good i really like the front end nice car with a great drive train

  • dont know why lincoln scrapped the LS which and started selling rebarged fords... exactly opposite of what caddy is doing and they're going up

  • I love it, except for the rear end, but wouldn't buy one. And it has a ton of power from only a V-6

  • isn't it 355 hp? and the sho slightly higher at 365??

  • 355hp. was the speculation...but, they've bumped it up 20 more hp..

  • it looks like a beautiful car, but that rear end is just fucking ugly. but thats also alot to pay for a lincoln, seeing as though it looks like a hurse

  • I'd bet, you'll buy it if, it was a Benz!

  • yeah it looks like the type of car to compete against the R-Class Merc

  • Oh yeah. Most definitely! Which one will you choose? ;-)

  • Def the MKT. The Mercedes is just a minivan. Not cool at all.

  • @shwndh Yeah, that's true. Plus, the MKT have more hp. and, style to it. ;-)

  • It looks different, but I think it's pretty classy.

  • tooo bad

  • rubbish

  • introducing 2010 hearse

  • Lol..

  • looks like a coffin car.

  • ugly

  • My point is the fuel economy sucks.

  • i like the look on this better than the ford flex.

  • i think the grill is too high

  • it's like Chrysler in the mid-late 90s.... ENORMOUS GRILLE !

  • Is that ugly-ass grill for real?

  • 16 mpg city and 22 highway...THAT SUCKS!

  • Not when it's a 5800lb 3 row luxury car with 355hp. Find another vehicle with the same space/seating and power that even gets over 20mpg hwy.

  • Mkay...Tahoe, Yukon, Suburban, Yukon XL, Expedition all get EPA 21 mpg highway.

For instance, the Chevrolet Tahoe Hybrids 6.0-liter V8 engine produces 332 horsepower (HP) and 367 foot pounds of torque.

The official mileage estimates for the 2009 Tahoe Hybrid are 21 city / 22 highway mpg for the 2WD version and 20/20 for the 4WD. It weights 5,835 pounds with 4wd and 5,617 pounds with 2WD.

It can tow 6,200 pounds and has off-road capability, too. After all, that's what SUVs are for.

  • They may have a point. If it's in a business class, why are the 3rd row seats made for kids or are all business men midgets?

  • 0-60 in 6.3 seconds?!?!

Wow, that is very impressive for a large, heavy CUV! That EcoBoost engine, wow...

  • That's just a very green name for turbo.

  • Oh, I definitely know that. And I love the idea of strapping on turbos to smaller engines! It gives people a much better opportunity to upgrade the engine.

  • God what an ugly car. The front is blah.

  • Not exactly ugly but the design need to calm down a bit.

  • Why did they make this piece of shit???

Ford is going in the right direction but WHO THE FUCK IS IN CONTROL OF LINCOLN in general Lincoln is getting worse not better. You would think with the success of the CTS and Escalade they would move in that direction Caddy started to going to sport lux rwd based cars and they saw a considerable boom in sales.

  • I will never buy a ford product after seeing the movie "Flash of genius" Ford is an unethical auto company...

  • it looks kinda ugly

  • This makes the 1995 Ford Scorpio look attractive...

  • Wow I thought the Accord crossover was ugly, actually i still think its ugly but this thing is right up there.

  • ugly car....

  • I guess he doesn't realize Mkt is in a class dominated by Audi BMW and Mercedes, it hold two more 'half-pints' in it's third row compared to the 2010 SRX. The Flex is gonna be on every block, the MKT hopefully every neighborhood.. think exclusive think Audi, Mecedes, BMW Caddy.

  • Dont forget Infiniti....

  • I couldn't agree with you more! I don't know if you watch or subscribe to the Motor Trend videos, but Edmunds is starting to make stupid comments just like them. To add to your list, the Benz R class and, GLK,

  • that is the fastest suv in the world !

  • yeah right........ i remind you of the x5m, v12 q7, cayenne turbo........

  • Well thats either sarcasm or you are forgeting about the Cayenne turbo....

  • The Lincoln has two turbos it will blow away any cayenne any day any time the eco boost is the best engine in the history of the automobile

  • hahah dumba ass the only cayenne this piece of crap will beat is the base or s the trubo s does 60 in 4.1 it will blow most sports cars on their ass

  • This FUCKER PARKS ITSELF????

  • Wow my grandma's BMW does the same thing...plus its not as ugly.

  • I just saw one today and did a double take. Very beautiful on the road.

  • Looks like a hearse, but a pretty stylish package overall. Hell of a lot better than the MDX and RX350.

  • It looks like Lincoln either spent not enough, or too much time designing the MKT

  • It's fucking beautiful IMO.

And with this size...0-60 in 6.3? Good grief...fuel economy isn't that terrible either. This thing rocks!

  • man, the grille is going to get bigger, and bigger, and until it occupies the whole front

  • R class all the way for me :)

  • of course who do you think makes lincoln, not nissan its FORD you guys

  • rear lights are ugly, the whole shape is very awkward

  • Thanks for the comments. We like to hear what you think of the vehicles and the videos too.

  • I would get none

I h8 the shitty box shaped flex

  • How can they call it an Eco car when it has a Twin Turbo?

Also the auto park system is for failed drivers. Why would you need that? Parking it yourself is faster and more safe. I bet there are at least a few flaws to that system. The narrator said protect bumpers. I doubt that protect the rims. Also that auto park system don't work if its not enough room. There needs to be a X number of feet in the spot in order for it to park. Meaning it can't park all spots that fit your car.

  • It is really a really ugly Cross Over...

  • very ugly

  • the front makes it look expensive and nice, but wtf happened to the back. at least put some led tail lights..

  • all lincolns have cool fronts and shitty backs it seems like

  • its ok

  • I'm so confused with car editors. They bitch about SUVs when they don't have 3rd row seating, and when they do have a 3rd row seat, they bitch about it having one. WTF? The 3rd row on this MKT is small enough just for children, but it STILL has it! + if you don't need the 3rd row, fold the damn thing down. So whats with all the bitching about it Edmunds? I suppose it's just a conundrum...

  • Well. . . eh.

Having a third row folded down takes up a lot of valuable real estate, so if it is useless, it still is a detractor. And, they don't bitch about not having a 3rd row unless the car is massive, i.e. some Tahoes/ Escalades w/o the 3rd row,. . This car is big enough to expect a decent 3rd row, so bitching about it having a bad one is expected, especially when its little brother has a better one.

  • Oh trust me, if this car DIDN'T have a 3rd row seat, they would bitch about it. It's a lose lose situation.

  • YES they would bitch about it, because it is large enough that A BIG 3RD ROW IS EXPECTED! I think in video this car looks significantly smaller than it actually is. IN A CAR THIS BIG, YOU NEED A DECENT THIRD ROW [period]. No car this large would lack a 3rd row entirely.

  • only thing i like about this car is the interior, everything else is shit

  • It is a try to copy AUDI Q7

    So.. Lolz @ that

  • oh my god thats an ugly car!

  • Davidtexugo, did you look at your mom agian?

  • the back is sooo frinkin ugly

  • I think this is the best looking Lincoln to date, kind of reminds me of a Maybach...

  • Love it!!!!!!!!!

  • oh my god it's so ugly

  • reminds me of a toyota venza and a mazda cx-7

  • who design this vehicle? That SUCKS!!!!!!!

  • Why so much grill .. i gonna put it vertical to make some barbecue

  • He makes one good point though, you're mostly paying for the brand name. $7k- 11k more than a top of the line Flex.

  • fuck insideline it looks nice and its hot

  • I think it's a nice looking vehicle, but damn Edmunds put up a more high quality video next time.

  • @adogg619 since the video was just posted it takes a while for it to reach high quality

  • it looks like dam whale teeth upfront. . .

  • I'll take a flex over the lincoln any day

  • same here

  • @blueshadow84

    Flex All the way
