It can be very stable if mounted from 2 points we sometimes borrow memory locks not in use. Any 2 point spread out will prevent the swiveling. It also makes a nice crasher on Hi-hats seen in other videos.
It is about the same thickness as a thin 16" crash.
The cord is Spectra from Dupont. It's the strongest fiber around. Stronger than kevlar. We have no breakages in over 2 years now.

Oh yes- the farther apart the 2 supports points, the better.
5 or 6" spread is best.
