  • Always loved this song, both his and Unit 4+2. Eddie sure was comfortable shirtless in front of a camera--nasty pose at 1:28, lol!!

  • I am sorry that you do not like the slideshow that I created for Ed - and I love the picture of him at 1:28 - it was taken on his 60th birthday

    Rosemarie

  • Rosemarie--I was trying to be funny, as the slang meaning of 'nasty' is cool, sexy, impressive!! This is a great slide show of him, sorry you took it the wrong way!!

  • This is great Rosemarie! As you already know, this was one of my favorites from this time. Did Eddie see this? I love the pictures too! Eddie is so handsome. I live about an hour from where he was born and raised which I found out when I did my video of this song.

  • This song just makes you feel happy.

It has been a personal favorite since the day it came out.

I love all the structural materials song - "Tar and Cement", "The Wood Song", "Asphalt Cowboy"

  • I have heard the Unit's version of this, but Eddie's version was the first I heard, and I still like it the best!

Are you sure this isn't speeded up here? It didn't sound exactly like the record that I have--unless my record player is slow!

  • I don't think it is - Ed sent me the song - so I am sure it is at the correct speed.

I have sent him your comment so he can put you straight on this matter.

    Love & Hugs

    Rosemarie

  • Thanks. Please let me know what he says. It is possible that his recording got speeded up a bit somehow. It's possible my turntable was slow, but this video sounds a bit chipmunky to me.

  • Beautiful photos & a Fabulous Song with lots of Happy Memories attached from the 60's. The photos give it a nice blend of the new and the old.

  • He is lovely

  • Wonderful Eddie!

    Sunshine

  • God, I miss the 60s!

  • No body can sing this like Ed. I have heard many artist sing this, but they don't even come close to the original. This is Ed's song, as only he can sing it. Nobody does it better. This is the one I like the best, and always will.

    honkey547

  • This isn't the original Honkey547 mom ami

  • the surfaris did it

  • Eddie does a GREAT job on this song Unfortunately you are wrong about him being the original because it was written by & 1st recorded by members of the British band Unit 4+2 strangely enough though I can understand you thinking Eddie had the original because BOTH versions charted on 5/1/65 (44 years ago tomorrow) as of my writing this...

  • ... (Eddie's version peaked at #35 & Unit's version at #28 BOTH with 9 weeks on the US Charts) However that being said I bought BOTH singles on the same day back in 1965 and liked Eddie's better.

  • He built the pyramids.

  • Thanks so much for this! It's a rare recording from around 1965 and I love it!

  • One of my favorite song by Ed. Ed is a sweetheart!

  • great song..Eddie is so good looking

  • BEAUTIFUL JOB!!! Love this song, and the singer ain't bad either. :)
