I just realized something. The lyrics when he's about to run through the river, "Let him run, let him live, but do not forget what we can not forgive.", made me think of the first film at the very end of it, Simba gives Scar the option (as irony to what Scar said to him when he was a child) to run away and never return. Basically, to be exiled. Im thinking this scene is supposed to resemble what would have happened to Scar. And Kovu sees Scar reflection as his own in the river. It fits.

We don't know who the father is; They're too young to be Mufasa's children, but I seem to remember it being suggested that they're not Scar's. So they could be the kids of any rouge Lion wandering around. Kovu was chosen by Scar to be his sucsessor.

There's 1 male, (Sometimes 2 if they work together (rare) or if one is so weak they pose no threat (Like Scar or Kovu's brother)) and multiple females. There may be an alpha female, (As Simba's mother was to Mufasa, Nala was to Simba, Zira was to Scar, and Kiara will be to Kovu) but it's not mutually exclusive like marriage would be. The male still sleeps with every female in the pride.

So its like, if Kiara was older and the story went to her liking Nuka, then it would be her liking her cousin (Or second cousin, since Simba and Nuka were born around the same time and that would make Simba and Nuka cousins)
