  • both lisa were blondes :3

  • That's not a reference to The Room, you know.

  • Oh God. The Simpsons are worst than Family Guy now. This shit is painful to watch.

  • To people arguing what it references, it's a reference to both. The line is more direct to Rebel Without A Cause, but the motion he does references The Room.

  • That was a reference to Rebel Without A Cause. You fuckin' moron.

  • the room? wtf, this is from Rebel Without a Cause!!!

  • ¿Les costaba mucho decir "Lisa" al final? Hubiera quedado genial así, y la broma tendría aún más gracia...

  • @Pdross92 me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta me gusta

  • @MacEwanMouse The only two words that you know to say in Spanish? xD

    Don't worry, it's a joke :D

  • It's from Rebel without a Cause...the kid looks like James Dean

  • YOUR LION I NEVER HITCHU! YOUR TARING ME A POT LISA!

  • Oh hai, Simpsons!

  • Oh hai Dracula.

  • Simpsons did it.

  • Wow, that was such an awful reference, Simpsons fail

  • simpsons.... go to your room until you learn to be funny again.... -_-

  • @Lostprophetzzz I agree, that's why I love to watch the first seasons. The latest are just...lame.

  • 3.2 on imdb... guess I won't be watching after all.

  • The Room is NOT the best movie of all time. It's one of the worst.

  • @Rampage470 troll effort 1/10

  • @Rampage470

and that's why people love it so much

  • The joke is referring to James Dean in 'Rebel Without a Cause,' shouting 'You're tearing me apart!'

  • @liss31d Yup. That's what I was going to say.

  • Really? now they make jokes parodying bad movies and stuff online? who are the screenwriters?

  • i didnt really like the way they did joke from the room it was just blah! for me, dont get me wrong i like the simpsons but they way they did the 'tearing me apart' joke was just meh! for me they didnt have a particularly good set up for that reference but its just my opinion.

  • *facepalm*

  • hey the room may have made it popular in the internet, but James Dean made it popular in the Silver screen.

  • Haha! What a story mark!

  • I can't believe they missed the whole 'Lisa' part of the quote. I really hope the minds behind The Simpsons decide to give the show a dignified end, rather than continuing on with the horrific bullshit they've produced over the last 7/8 years.

  • Awww, why didn't he talk to Lisa and say, "You are tearing me apart LISA." That would make the joke, so much better.

  • @UnknownThomasFan30 I would say that it would be to obvious for the simpsons, but that doesn't seem to be the case these days...

  • @UnknownThomasFan30 Because it would be too funny

  • @UnknownThomasFan30 Just goes to show how bad The Simpsons has gotten in the past 10 years if they pass up an obvious joke like that.

  • @LeperMessiah117 Even though I agree that new simpsons is utter shit, in this example they weren't referencing the room

  • @UnknownThomasFan30 what joke

  • @UnknownThomasFan30 because they aren't actually referring to the room

  • @UnknownThomasFan30 Because it's not even a reference to The Room, it's a reference to Rebel Without A Cause

  • @UnknownThomasFan30 Mainly because it wasn't a reference to The Room...

  • ...and somehow manage to be even worse than what they try to make fun of

  • it could also have been from East of Eden........?

  • hope the tv was okay

  • the new simpsons sucks so bad

  • i don't really want to be the hundreth person to say that this obviously was a reference to 'rebel without a cause'.... but everyone needs to go watch 'rebel without a cause' :) definitely better than 'the room' anyway :P

  • this is a really gay episode..

  • @AfrikaaBombeetza I do not believe episodes of television have genders or love for things of the same hypothetical gender. Therefore, an episode can't be homosexual. Good day sir.

  • @pockuinator however i believe you are homosexual

  • @AfrikaaBombeetza youtube.com/watch?v=_F6M2C0x6qE

  • The funny thing is....the Edward character in the Simpsons was voiced by Daniel Radcliffe (aka Harry Potter).

  • Comment removed

  • It is actually painful how bad that movie was.

  • @heystupidopenthedoor im watching it now, and it is so bad

  • yeah that wasn't really funny...

  • the room is better than the simpsons nowadays.

  • @heroesmuertos Wow I actually agree but The Simpsons is a special show so I can't hate it too much.

  • @heroesmuertos lolno

  • @heroesmuertos Haha another the simpsons isn't funny joke. -.-

  • @heroesmuertos

The Room is better than anything.

  • His love intrest was lisa, so if they were doing it intentionally, they would have said the whole line.

  • Well that sucked

  • it's probably been mentioned 100 times before, but it's worth mentioning again because James Dean is the coolest person EVER. that line is from 'rebel without a cause".

  • @07foxmulder Yes, but the genuis that is Tommy Wiseau has turned this easily forgotten throwaway line by some forgotten actor (who made only three movies anyway) into a classic for a new generation of contemporary viewers blah blah blah...

  • @BlueCougar Did you seriously just call James Dean a 'forgotten actor', and 'You're tearing me apart' a throwaway line??

  • @videogamenostalgia Well considering he died before my parents were born I'm fairly certain it should be extremely unfamiliar to people under 25. Nearly 60 years ago bud, let it go. Great movies, sure, but do you expect every generation to keep up with the previous two? Please...

  • @aza4444 That's true to an extent, and I wouldn't expect people to really keep up with classic movies like Rebel Without a Cause, but come on! James Dean is up there with Elvis and Marilyn Monroe. You'd have to be a complete shut-in to not have even heard his name. And Rebel Without a Cause still has a bigger audience than The Room.

  • @videogamenostalgia Not when it comes to mocking The Room!! James dean should be known, but not that line.

  • featured video: "kitten is ugly" ...da fuck?

  • Just because a person says the phrase, "You're tearing me apart" and there just happens to be a person named Lisa nearby doesn't mean it's referencing The Room.

  • TV OUT OF FUCKING NOWHERE

  • are you kidding me the room is the best movie ever!! your supposed to watch it high u dumbasses!!

  • @gaylogrime1080

    Maybe you suck!!!!!!!>=D

  • REBEL WITHOUT A CAUSE; "You're tearing me apart!"

THE ROOM: "You ARE tearing me apart, Lisa"

But no matter what line is being referenced, Daniel Radcliffe can say it calmly.

  • What a story, Dracula.

  • And now I remember why I don't watch this fucking show anymore.

  • Not only is it unoriginal but they completely shirked on the opportunity to use Lisa... They also disregarded the one thing that made it funny, the thick accent/bad acting.

  • @TheloniousKeys781 ...it's not a reference to The Room, so having him address Lisa and do the accent wouldn't make sense. It's a reference to Rebel Without a Cause...

  • I remember when the Simpsons were original.

  • @TonyKnockOff i remember when cartoon network didnt have live action crap that was a crap version of mythbusters, i remember when educational could be entertaining, and i also remember when you had to be a genious to turn your computer on, i can build a computer now, i can manage my bussiness and not go bankrupt, i found love and got arrested, and yet after al this time....I STILL CANT PROGRAM MY GODDAMN VCR!!!!!

  • @TonyKnockOff Haha. the Simpsons stopped being funny when you were about 10 or 11. Isn't that a trip? Why do they even bother? Money or no money, that show will be remembered forever as a crap show that was good for a minute, simply because they didn't know when to end it.

  • @shakesula21 tbf that is just ur opinion and not one shared by the many fans of the show so please don't ruin it for them

  • @LedZepper678 Touche. I still hold a special place in my heart for The Simpsons, and I LOVE Futurama. No offense intended.

  • Clássica

  • Clássica

  • you know since the nostalgia critic review there has been a lot of the room references

  • @Wiiguy146 The Room was pretty well known well, WELL before the Nostalgia Critic reviewed it.

  • @videogamenostalgia well im just saying it was starting to get a lot more references after the nostalgia critic reviewed it

  • unfortunately for both the room and the simpsons; the room tried to be serious and ended up being funnier than all Simpsons episodes after 1999.

  • YOU ARE TEARING ME APART FATHER‼

  • the movie got a rating of 3/10, I doubt it could be called the greatest movie of all time.....

  • how did i get here from pantera?

  • wich treehouse of horror is this

  • What ever it was referencing, it wasn't funny anyways.

  • @uknownada Well the thing about refernces is that in order to get it, you need to know about what it's referncing... So I'd say you're in no position to judge wether or not this is funny.

  • @Zoeres What about at the end of this episode, when Maggie references "Clockwork Orange"? Was there anything funny about that?

    Nope. Not at all.

  • @uknownada You obviously haven't seen the room, though I admit they should of made the kid say the line to Lisa. Would of made it ten times funnier.

  • @Theclassymoustaches2 I have seen The Room.

I was just talking about how, apparently, this wasn't a reference to "The Room". It's a reference to "Rebel Without a Cause".

Still, it's not a funny scene, so it doesn't belong on Simpsons.

  • qon

  • What simpsons episode was this from? :)

  • My name is Lisa and everyone that watches that teases me with that.

  • Fail since he didn't complete the line.

  • Wow!

  • RIP Television set.

  • @NewPhoenixFilms naw,it was a dinosaur anyway :)

  • thie uploader needs to take an arrow in the knee

  • it's funny how people think that line is originally from The Room

  • @thesir27 What is it originally from?

  • this is in what "the simpsons" season and episode? :) thanks

  • I miss the days when The Simpsons wasn't just comprised of parody episodes.

  • jesus christ the simpsons has become so, so fucking shit. Just stop making it and let me forget about the past 5-10 years. Before that this show was genius.

  • True, It is a reference to one of the greatest films of all time. But it's Rebel Without a Cause :P .... oh, hi mark..

  • You are tearing me apart!! Hows youre sex life?

  • It's a James Dean reference, in Rebel Without a Cause...

  • it would have been funnyer if they through this episode in the garbage and filmed paint drying

  • funny... Daniel Radcliffe voices 'edward' here =P

  • o.o .....Edward Cullen??

  • *Sigh* It's Rebel Without A Cause being referenced, not The Room.

  • @MrKeepitunderyourhat

They said "You're tearing me apart" in Rebel?

  • @weirdaljedifan2 Yeah, I suspect that Tommy Wiseau thought that he was the new James Dean.

  • @MrKeepitunderyourhat well, i think we should give him james dean's car.

  • @MrKeepitunderyourhat i think its both. Talking to the parent is like rebel without a cause, while Lisa being there and his arm gestures are the room.

  • @MrKeepitunderyourhat no its the room. u can tell by th hand motion

  • @isaacman122 He does the same hand motions in Rebel Without A Cause. It's like AGentertainment said, Wiseau took lots of bits of classic films in the hope that it would make his better.

  • @MrKeepitunderyourhat no he didnt. the hand motions are clearly different.

  • @MrKeepitunderyourhat I wouldn't be surprised though if Johnny saw Rebel Without A Cause and stole that the same way he stole the room trashing scene from Citizen Kane... as if he was trying to combine stuff from good movies to make his movie good...

  • @MrKeepitunderyourhat Actually, I think it's both since Lisa Simpsons is in the scene.

  • @MrKeepitunderyourhat

    The Room is more funnier.

  • @MrKeepitunderyourhat Exactly. Now if he HAD directed that quote to Lisa, then we can't help but think "The Room.".....but obviously Rebel Without a Cause waaaaaaaaaay surpasses "The Room."

  • Comment removed

  • @MrKeepitunderyourhat Still an interesting coincidence that Lisa happens to be there.

  • @robertsfunny1995 No it's not an interesting coincidence at all, she's a major character in the show. The whole situation of him yelling it at a restrictive parent is Rebel Without A Cause. No matter how much you or I may love The Room for it's breathtaking incompetence, it's far, far more likely that this is a reference to Rebel Without A Cause.

  • @MrKeepitunderyourhat But still, Lisa just happened to be the name of a major character of that movie, as well as the name of a major character on the Simpsons and they just happen to use a line from a movie that was coincidentally used in another movie, so it would be pretty easy to confuse the reference.

  • @robertsfunny1995 What is so hard about this to understand? It's clearly Rebel Without A Cause, if you'd actually watched the episode rather than just desperately clinging to the straws you've been grasping, you'd know that the reason that Lisa 'happens to be there' is because it's a spoof of Twilight with Lisa as Bella. The whole idea of the line being shouted by an unruly teenager at a restrictive parent is straight out of Rebel Without A Cause.

  • @MrKeepitunderyourhat Well I haven't seen that movie, if you haven't seen Rebel without a Cause, but you did see the Room it's not that hard to think they're referencing the room.

  • Comment removed

  • @Samonuh Are you autistic or something? Not everyone's going to know about your favorite movie.

  • @robertsfunny1995 It's not my favorite movie...I said it's one of the best movies ever made. And you didn't understand my "drive off a cliff" reference either because you didn't watch it. That movie has influenced your life in more ways than you can imagine...

  • @robertsfunny1995 Your comment didn't really make a lot of sense. I've seen both movies and I've seen this episode of The Simpsons, and so I will say it one more time: It is a reference to Rebel Without A Cause. Your entire reason for it being The Room seems to merely be that both contain a character with the same name.

  • @MrKeepitunderyourhat But that in itself is interesting, I'm not saying that it is to the room, I'm merely trying to say that I find it interesting that they happen to have the same name, and they happen to say something that was also used in the movie. I never said it wasn't a Rebel without a Cause I'm just saying I can see how someone would make the mistake.

  • Why didnt they make Lisa do something bad to him? YOU ARE TEARING ME APART LISA!

  • @powerlink123 OMG... that would have been genius

  • Shitty joke. Shitty episode. Shitty season.

  • This is Rebel Without A Cause, not The Room.

  • @greenteaplease They know. The Room is the name of the film the episode's referencing in this clip.

  • @Nibor7301 Oh, wait. *Facepalm* Nevermind.

  • oh hi mark

  • Its a reference to A Rebel Without A Cause

  • Hows your sex life?

  • Rebel Without A Cause

  • What's with the TV?

  • would had been funnier.. if he was actually talking to lisa xD

  • @KepoQ how could they miss that lisa's right there.

  • I thought he would say "you're tearing me apart, LISA". Then it would have been a Room reference.

  • Yeah, that's definitely a Rebel Without A Cause reference.

But you can't expect everyone to get it, as great as the movie is most people see it for the first time in school. I did, and loved it, but not many people my age give enough of a shit. :/ It's sad how a great actor's line can be confused with a comedicly horrible actor's line. But, at least we get it.

  • Tearing people apart? That's a paddlin.

  • You should have added Jim Carrey = /watch?v=ob3stKygMnI

  • You can tell its not from the room because nobody has a football.

  • @Duotwk Yeah and nobody starts random conversations about sex lives and they "hi", not "hai."

  • Damn, with a character named Lisa, you figure that would be such a mis-opportunity

  • @Jradgex ...Except they weren't referencing The Room...

  • @DJRozwell

    Damn...

    I was all excited too

Well Rebel without a Cause is a nice reference too
