@gmansi yes, obviously the australians thought so - made it number one in their country! loving this clip - no funky re-edit - we get to watch Tony's guitargasmic playing (oops, did i say that out loud???)
Any chance of getting any more of this TV special uploaded? I'm sure all of us Hollies fans would love to see and hear it. Love the Spanish guitar style in this song... thank you for posting it!
@Ruiggie i have only heard this song from an 8 track my sister made so quality was never an issue I always love the sounds of garage bands and this hisses and popping from scratched records
love the Hollies been thinking of this song and finally remembered to search for it .Brings back childhood memories the first verse was stuck in my head for years
Bands like the Hollies, the Move, and The Small Faces were underrated - by the Americans. The Small faces were virtually unknown in the U.S. except for their Itchycoo Park. But that did not prevent them to enjoy their popularity in the U.K. and the rest of the world.
first time viewing this video! and every time i see a HOLLIES video i say to myself their HARMONIES, INSTRUMENTALS and ALLAN beautiful voice can't get any better, they always prove me wrong!...WOW!!
GTK was an Australian popular music TV series produced and broadcast by the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. The series title was an abbreviation of the phrase "Get To Know".(Courtesy of Wikipedia)
Great group, great song, great TV show (GTK), while the sponsors (2SM radio) were a great OZ pop/rock station at that time! This song was a HUGE hit "downunder", in fact a #1, which I don't think happened in any other country.
That was kool in 1971, slow dissolves and multiple views. Be thankful the cameras didn't have zoom. When they first got zoom, every second clip was crash zoomed in and out. In 1971, they were still using turret cameras.
Excellent! and very rare. Are you able to post any more of the Hollies from Oz or the TV special mentioned Don't Get Bunburnt it would be amazing to see
I LOVE this song!!! Beautiful... And Tony- no way to say, but.... Beautiful...

I think I had ever heard The Hollies' song: "Isn't it nice to be someone"
Is there such a kind song?
