  • For anyone wondering what the song is, it's called Siboney (by Connie Francis).

  • This short can take a few viewings before it makes sense to you. Every time I watch it, it's like bathing in a tub of beautiful color and euphonious sound. The philosophical musings are not that profound, but they don't really need to be. The mood is all that matters.

  • I do find it hilarious that everyone is talking about Christopher Doyle and WKW's lighting etc - when really the main look is in the production design, costumes, and editing and special effects by William Chang.

  • @BandanaDan Yeah I just looked him up and saw that he was involved with just about every WKW movie

  • @BandanaDan under the direction of WKW

  • @MaghoxFr

    Of course.

  • Too slick for my liking: it's like a perfume-ad. But with a rather pretentious philosofical dialogue. In this case an unfortunate combination.

The woman might be pleasing to the eye but she's not interesting: rather bland.

Wouldn't have thought this was a Wong Kar Wai film...

  • @Cosiism

    Anyone who

  • @Cosiism she is pretty but yeah agree she's boring.

  • There should be more chin-strap ski caps in the world.

  • wow!!!

  • i'd bang that blind chick any day

  • someone knows the name of the last song??? o.o

  • The wardrobe, hair, and makeup remind me so much of Lanvin.

  • Siento no poder ayudarte. Hay que leerla en ruso, para empezar. Y luego, no busco nada luminoso en su palabra. Simplemente, la siento. A Marina hay que respirarla sin más. Como a WKW.

  • Any chance for an HD reupload now that youtube offers this possibility? This beautiful piece deserves a better quality. Thanks in advanced!

  • Wong Kar Way, Maestros como este nos recuerdan que el verdadero cine aun vive.

  • Sencillamente hermoso.

  • Sencillamente hermoso.

  • Sencillamente hermoso

  • what movie is this?

  • @malayneum is a short film

  • so beautiful it hurts!

  • DELICIOSO!!!

  • Deslumbrante!

  • Gorgeous, odd, and intriguing. I love WKW.

But at the same time, I don't think this has the mood and emotion of his best work.

  • Wong Kar Wai is an amazing artist! Only him can make something so beautiful from such a vulgar and commercial idea...

  • I Have To Say This Woman Is Simply Beautiful.

  • This is so beautiful...

  • There only one Wong Kar Wai

  • Shit! WKW is a master with lighting, color and great choice in music. His films are a piece of art.

  • @asia911 thats cuz he uses chris doyle :D

  • @lagook he didn't use chris doyle in this

  • @gelo33 really? i thourght it was on doyles filmography?

  • @lagook yeah, i assumed it was doyle too, until i paid attention to the credits. DOP is philippe le sourd who did seven pounds and that...i don't think doyle's done any work with wkw since 2004 (eros + 2046)....

  • @asia911 Don't confuse Wong kar Wai with Christopher Doyle -- regarding the color and lighting, that is.

  • @msa1985 He still has to give him the idea, and once Doyle came up with something, he still has to give the go ahead.

I'd know, because I'm John Woo.

  • @msa1985

Also worth mentioning, Christopher Doyle didn't DoP this one but Philippe Le Sourd.

  • cool

  • Bravazo... como siempre.

  • not the best ive seen but still good

  • holy shi% this was awesome

  • Amazingness. However, I don't like the use of the music on this one, maybe something a little bit futurustic would've been better. But I know WKW likes to use Latin American music, kudos to WKW.

  • amazing
