The key to androgyny is not only looking the part, but being able to speak as both female and male, and match your facial expressions. If you can make your mind hear and feel the gender you are projecting, then everyone around you will pick up on it as well.

Jeffree Star is not transgender. He just dresses in drag every day. It's also harder for men to look androgynous because of the harsher facial features and facial hair.

BScott, Bill Kaulitz, and Davey Havok are the best examples of that.
