  • hey, is it possible to not only link the KP3 with the K-PRO for the insane capabilities, but to also after they are linked use the K-pro as a midi controller for a desktop synth module or a rack synth module such as the ROLAND JP 8080? if so, is there a way (perhaps a mixer) to not only use the K-PRO as just for a midi controller, but also to use the effects and sample banks of the KP3 along with the sounds from the rack synth mod engine to sound the 3 units together without a midi keyboard?

  • Whats better for looping beatbox ??

  • he doesn't even know what they both do. Beardyman and a few others proved him wrong.

  • Just fucking play something on it!!!

  • @nervmichnich B/c they used the same chassis. Try using both at the same time and you'd understand why they made this video.

  • Lol..

I'm writing this comment before watching the video!

The headline is just ridiculous. Why would you compare a Synthesizer with an Effect Processor? The only common ground is the chase.

  • @nervmichnich I've had a kp3 for 2 years and i've not even known until i watched this vid that the kaossilator was anything but a kp3 with a green screen.....

this is a great vid that does exactly what it says on the tin.

  • Soooo basically the only difference is one is green and one is red?

  • @92vinman

    ahahah

  • @92vinman no.

  • Does the Kaoss Pad 3 have a mic input or guitar cable input capability? Can I record vocals on it? I am asking because I would like to use it for vocal percussion

  • @utube2603 yeah u can man it has a 1/4th jack as well as a xlr for mics

  • @utube2603 look up a man named Beardyman, there is your answer.

  • автор капитан очевидность

  • I think it's very hard to make like a tutorial or a video to show differences because anytime I would like to show you something i'd instantly forget that I'm actually recording a tutorial video. I'd start jamming around and rock the shit out of my house!

  • can you make music using the kpad 3? like custom?

  • @MrAxis66

ya just get a mic and plug it in....

or if you can't betbox or are too shy to make noises with your mouth...

go onto 7 wich is synt and turn the function knob bacwards and you end up with drums...

then just shift and sample what you like...hope this helped..

  • i am saving for it

  • any1 else jelous....

17 days im getting a kaoss pad 3....

    so excited....

  • @Josh57127

my emx-1 kp3 and kaossilator pro came this morning :D

  • @CaptainTappy

ha i gota kp3 for crimbo..

    lucky you man...

yourguna have so much fun...now im jelous ha

  • @Josh57127 they are amazing tools :D i got a big bonus from work and have been after them for a while. Why not!! :P

  • @CaptainTappy

    why not sure....

an endless amount of fun from the both of them....

i got my kp3 now and im barley off it man haha...

    there addictive.....

the only bad thing is if you save you music/songs on an sd card or computer ...you can't put them on mp3 or cd because there loops and they don't have an end....so becuse of this the loops just run forever...

but apart from that there both beasts ....

  • @Josh57127 why dont u just play them live into a computer and record it?

  • @CaptainTappy

how and loops have no time limit..

i,ve tried to convert the files to wav mp3 but nothing works....

    wish i could man...

  • @Josh57127 loops do have a time limit if you have an idea of how you want your song to sound. Also mix it u with solo and mute part for transitions etc. If you wanna record get a midi cable and sync your emx to fruity loops or some kind of music software like that. They all have input recording :)

  • @Josh57127

is it free or does it like cost much...

and is it easy to do or is it like impossible

  • @Josh57127 i am very, very jealous

  • rick, ive watched all your kaossilator videos and im not gonna lie, your good as hell making music on this thing. as you should be but still, everyone deserves praise.

  • my local korg distributor, city music, sells them as a bundle for only sgd 738

  • After watching your two videos, I'm leaning more towards buying the Kaossilator Pro rather than Boss RC-50 for live performance. That live looper is key and it seems to lend itself more to what I'm in tune with doing live than the RC-50, so thank you.

  • thanks a lot, i wasn`t understanding the difference of these two tools until your video! so NOW i know that i need the kaossilator pro ;) thanks!

  • guys i want to buy some equipment but i only have the digital jockey for traktor im studying ableton and just bought the novation pad what would u suggest me too get next? one of those above?

  • can the kp3 only record 4 samples? or does it have memory banks on top of that?

  • @Badunkawank13 No only four. You can save them on an sd card but you have to save and load before or after a performance.

  • @FuturedaveyP bah! would you suggest an SP-404 to go along with it then? or perhaps korg Kontrol or summing?

  • @Badunkawank13 Hey, not sure what those are. I use a KP3 hooked up to it so use all 8 banks to sample although there are set up issues, such as anything that plays on the unit thats hooked into the other will record so you have to mute the banks you dont want recording, record over to the 2nd unit and then unmute them. Depends how you set them up really. Ive moved to the electribes now, and the dreaded crash happy mpc 5000.

  • @FuturedaveyP wait sorry whats your set up?

you use thekps and kaossilator pro combo like in this video as well as electribe (which exltribe btw) with the mpc 5000?

  • @Badunkawank13 Hey, i have a 5000 but it keeps breaking. When its fixed i'll use that seperately. Ive set up the two Electribes, SX and MX with the SX as master playing the main 'beat'. The MX is then there so i can overlay more beats and synth melodies. Works a treat slaved in midi. Then i have the kp3 taking the output of the MX so i can add effects to those sounds and that goes into the BR1600 (as a recorder / mixer). My Microkorg goes into the kaoss pro pad which is slaved in midi....

  • @FuturedaveyP to the SX and MX. I can then record and loop melodies from the microkorg but after about ten 15 minutes it goes out of sync- i have to just get around that. The out put of that goes into my br1600. Oh, the SX output goes striaght in the Br1600. I have a few guitar pedals after the microkorg before it goes into the kaoss pro- makes for ace sounds (im a metal head at heart!). The only problem now is finding the time to play with it all and make some ace music!

  • @FuturedaveyP You deserve a gold star ar kid, very nice set up indeed. How long did it take you to get all that? When did you start?

Whats your story (mind you I'm only 17 so I'm just starting into the art)

  • @Badunkawank13 Well, a started as most of us do with a guitar, that was in 94. Played that for years and years. Used a tascam tape four track to learn recording, and loved it. Then I moved up to a BR1600 digital 16track, amazing machine for me that. That was about 5 years ago now. Ive been spending my money on mandos, ukes, bongos, and drum machines (zoom street box for example) etc here and there but recently splashed out on the korg gear. love the sounds it can make. just need time to use it!

  • @Badunkawank13 I advise you to start building up gear, look after it well so it lasts (as the equipment will form your sound- as u most likely already realise). Keep searching the internet and reading up on different areas of music as the more u know the easier it all becomes, especially in todays world with so much technology and fun stuff like that. Dont neglect the basic thing though, that being making and playing your own music. If the passion is there then you can only always get better

  • I don't know if anyone can tell me this. I just recently bought both of these but have been have trouble with the connection. I can get noise but i can't make sound out of the Kaossilator Pro unless my finger is on the Kaoss Pad. Could someone help me out. I have 4 rca cables.

  • @ZKLKZK On the back is there a switch that says like "direct" and "something else". If there is try switching that. I had the same problem with the KP2 but switching it allows the sound to come through without having your finger on the kaoss pad.

  • @ZKLKZK What he is doing is recording loops. If he hadn't been in recording mode, then the same thing would have happened to him. I suggest reading the manual, you can probably figure out how to record a loop :)

  • how much would one of these be?

  • @pingpongboy1 To much. :P

  • @fladoodel

    :L

    i thought so

  • @pingpongboy1 you can find em both for around £300 each not sure in dollars though

  • owww yeh

  • @gburke6969 you can do that but,it is much better to connect by using ,,send return,, see my video to get picture.

  • Great video. Lots of info and helpfull.

How much the KP Pro is? Same as KP3?

  • @martinadrianramos Kaosillator pro is 399.00 usd. You do not need the pro,the original kaosillator is just a good for 150.00.

  • @todzillarockz51 I see. Thanks alot!

  • that one drum sound drm05, sounded like the intro to Oh Yeah! lol

  • I like Korg because they made VOX amps cool again!!!!! these devices look really interesting.

  • Korg keeps bringing that heat! The captain says engage!

  • Cheers for the upload

  • the best video of this instruments i have ever seen, thnx
