When you play well, have a sufficient bankroll for when the bad variance does kick in, and do not tilt, you'll profit. There will be some times where your a huge favorite and lose, but if your doing things right you'll keep those times to a minimum.

I checked a odds calculator and it gives the 5c7c 27.37% equity.

This is what I don't like about this person's play. Limp 2nd to act with a hand as weak as 75 and then call a raise out of postion with again..a weak hand. You don't see too many limpers at high stakes poker, but something tells me this fish has a lot of mula.

I agree with WNxEcho except that I would add to that. A bad beat is either a very unlikely winning hand (due to number of outs) or when an incredibly good had (quads or high full house) is beaten by a slightly better one. Such as Ace quads beat by straight flush A to 5.
I wouldn't say that's a really bad beat. Its unfortunate, but magicpitch had 9 outs to win on the flop, and 13 on the turn. That's a 25% chance to win. A beat beat is when someone hits a miracle 1-3 outer on the river. (Which always happens to me on FT).

horrific play from the 5 7 suited ... person with the aces did absolutely nothing wrong there as she had the nuts pre and post flop ... still the 5 7 suited had 9 clubs (assuming the other players didn't have any) and the back-door straight so it was a bad beat, but not the worst in the world
I stopped playing poker online. One day i thought.... How hard could it be for someone to read your hole cards? If they played it right.. dumped a few hand to make it look good.. This is what I don't like about this person's play. Limp 2nd to act with a hand as weak as 75 and then call a raise out of postion with again..a weak hand. You don't see too many limpers at high stakes poker, but something tells me this fish has a lot of mula.

Except it was a 7-high flush, so nearly any flush draw beats it. Not to mention that if the board pairs at all, the trips still win. She could have easily run into a Kc10c as well, considering the raise was from the button.
The limping with 5c7c, along with the call out of position and the shove with a marginal flush draw shows that this was poorly played, all around.

I agree with WNxEcho except that I would add to that. A bad beat is either a very unlikely winning hand (due to number of outs) or when an incredibly good had (quads or high full house) is beaten by a slightly better one. Such as Ace quads beat by straight flush A to 5.

I wouldn't say that's a really bad beat. Its unfortunate, but magicpitch had 9 outs to win on the flop, and 13 on the turn. That's a 25% chance to win. A beat beat is when someone hits a miracle 1-3 outer on the river. (Which always happens to me on FT).

Following up previous comment: If the dealer is successful after ramaging through the remaining cards & finding the perfect fit for the donkey's rags, they are boarded (in which case, for some reason, it takes the dealer longer to deal the river card...strange but true. Perhaps he notices that the card that was supposed 2 fall on the river would actually give the hand 2 the person that flopped a monster and he needs a millisec to locate the other runner. dunno!)

Most of these prolly play at Full-Tilt. In that case, it's 90% beyond 'common' especially on FTP, no matter what u hold. Dealer flops 3 cards, included is a monster for 1 plyr. Make it 1 (s)he can't laydown. Hwevr, RULE#1 (especially @FTP): 1ST ONE ALL-IN WINS! (If there are outs in the deck 2 make it possible)

I have had good runs, turning 20 into 1000, and bad runs, 1000 into 0, but either way i play thinking someone may be cheating, but trying to better him anyway!!! Like, if he can see my hole cards, then take him to the river anyway, Pokerstars seems to pay alot to the worst had in the end.

I stopped playing poker online. One day i thought.... How hard could it be for someone to read your hole cards? If they played it right.. dumped a few hand to make it look good.. I think there are people doing just that. I am not saying they are breaking into a site... there are other ways. I will never again play online until i can see the other players hole cards.
