  • the spring on the scissors on the swisstool is able to be replaced by the user, the surge scissor spring is under the screw and if you mess with the leatherman you void the warranty. also i don't feel that the one hand opening is an advantage unless you only have one hand. for anyone with the reply "well what if your hand is trapped?" if someone doesn't have hands what good is the tool? also you wouldn't know if you could access the tool if one hand was struck anyway.

  • I considering buying a Victorinox Swisstool X but I need to know if there is even a little bit off play in the pliers. Cause I don't want that.

  • @manhattenhero the victorinox is a very very good tool even the swisstool spirit is a very good tool to use

  • I just love that Leatherman's "Lost me in the woods!" finish!

  • can't you flip the leatherman over to have a lefthand pivot also?

  • @sleeepyhead....No. Unfortunately the Leatherman design doesn't work that way in which you are suggesting. It was just design as a counter-clockwise pivot.

  • @alricblood The pliers on both tools are symmetric - it does not matter which way you turn your tool. Leatherman has lefthand pivot from the bottom of the tool, Swisstool has it from the top but because two parts that make the plier head are mirror reflections of themselves it makes absolutely no difference which way the top version of pivot is because the bottom one goes in the other way and has identical strength.

  • @alricblood if you look from the bottom up, wouldn't the pivot point on the leatherman be clockwise?

  • @sleeepyhead the one that flips is the butterfly knife

  • Thank you very much for the nice review.

I own the most recent version of the Swisstool X and it has an excellent diamond coated file which extends all the way to both ends just like the Spirit's.

    Greetings from Greece!!!

  • I like the camo on the leatherman so if you drop it in the forest or tall grass, you cannot find it.

  • Do me a favor. Next time you decide to do a video outstide, take that leatherman and cut the throat of that FN bird back there before you start!! Other than that, nice review my friend. :-)

  • Great reviews you are doing. You obviously know and love your multitools.

  • @pjharro Thanks for the comment. And yes, I LOVE multitool..never leave homw without it.
