  • First started playing Euphonium, June of 8th grade. Good. 9th grade knew all of scales, 6 of the 12 3 octaves. Solo, got praised for playing it awesome. 10th, learn a lot, improve my tone and learn all of them 3 octaves. :D

  • I play Baritone.:))

  • @BonnsterSwaqq15 too badd thats a euphonium

  • Take THAT, flute players! >:D

  • any clarinet player could do this but it takes true talent and skill to do this on a euphonium

im so proud of being a euphonium player

  • Just awful

  • @Haritonov46 Oh I'm sorry I'm sure you can do better right?

  • @666MusicIsLife666

You are right, Sunny, I can't do better because this guy is an unsurpassed virtuoso of playing on adjacent notes.

  • @Haritonov46 Hahaha ohohoho so funny! Coming from the kid who probably doesnt know a scale

  • @666MusicIsLife666

This time you are not quite right, Sunny. I do know one scale but I should admit I don't know anything about extreme fartind in libraries. And guess what, unlike you I do not want to know anything about it

    P.S.

As you probably noticed, before addressing you I'd figured out something about you, your points of concern and your venerable, respectable age. I beleive you are gifted enough to do the same kind of "research" to make your remarks even more profound and substantial.

  • @Haritonov46 you spelled believe wrong. i think i figured out something about you, you are a bad speller

  • @SvStheShow

Dear friend! If you "figured out something" it doesn't necessarily mean that you should announce about it right away. Sometimes it make sense to figure out a little more to impress people with your thinking capacity.

    P.S.

Have you ever tried to analize your own grammar skills?

  • @Haritonov46 dude, chill im not serious.

    we shouldnt be fighting.

  • @SvStheShow

Now it's hard to disagree with you, my friend. But you have to agree it was your clumsy joke that provoked "fighting", which would've not happened if you've commented the video. This type of comment would've been much more interesting for me and the people. So I am expecting such a comment with great interest.

    Best regards.

  • lol i love how it looks like it's at a dinner thing when the dude's talking but then there's people with yard chairs and stuff

  • 0:30 is where the piece starts. Take no heed to the annoying accent or terrible teeth and just skip to second thirty

  • dang i can barely play au clair de la lune he is good

  • i played the euphonium n i even cannot do thaTnice 'pharases'

  • Unfortuneately on Euphonium, this gets a little muddy although it's insanely well played at that.

  • I really want that sheet music

  • lmfao CmonMidffild thinks Americans call Euphoniums Baritones XD wow you no nothing about American band programs!

  • wow i started a riot.

  • Here in the States a euphonium is the same a euphonium in the U.K. and yes we do call it a euphonium. What we call a baritone is a bit different than a baritone used in a British brass band. Sometimes the terms are used incorrectly however.

American style baritones have been more widely used in U.S. school bands because they were for the most part more affordable than a euphonium and therefore more well known than their euphonium cousin.

Now that we are sorted, please enjoy the music.

  • Did he use Circular Breathing ?

  • Those notes are too fast to do circular breathing on, and no he just sneaks a breath or two in between "phrases"

  • tromboniwr youre a dumbass! A euphomium and baritone have differences! A baritone usua lly has 3 valves and a euphonium has 4. a baritone is cyllindrical, a euphonium is conical!

  • I am no dumbass. I know the differences between a baritone and an euphonium. I was just saying that euphoniums are called baritones in America.

  • And euphoniums are not called Baritones in America jerk. Stop acting like you know everything about America because you don't.

  • The Sound is off I noticed, but this is just badass!

  • fuckin sweet. i have seen it done on a trombone but being a euphonium player in the past i seriously love this shit.

  • wow....I guess I wasnt ever that good! I suck !Im not worthy,im not worthy! Im scum ! I suck !

  • Join the club...

  • at 1:37. thats amazing, whats that called and how can i learn to do that?

  • it's called a lip slur. It sounds different because he is a professional at it.

  • So you're saying he's a professional lip-slurrer? Lol. Some people really need to look up the word 'professional' in the dictionary.

  • yea, he's a professional lip-slurrer. Are you trying to deny that?

  • Sort of, yes. I doubt he lip-slurrs for a living, because that's what 'professional' means.

  • He lips slurs for an occupation. that is what professional means, it doesn't mean that they do it for a living. What do you think when people say "Act professional". It is an adjective describing something. I mean, if you say that a profession is a living, then you can say that fat people are professional food eaters. If it is your profession, then that is what you do for an occupation. Not necessarily what they do for a living.

  • That's what I meant, you utter imbecile. "What do you do for a living?" and "What is your occupation?" is the same question, only phrased differently. And no, fat people don't eat as an 'occupation', in the same way that David Childs is a professional lip-slurrer. He is a fantastic player who can lip-slur brilliantly, but somehow, I doubt that he gains any money from lip-slurring alone.

  • oh so your stereotyping huh? Well, Americans do have a higher literacy rate than England. So I guess we know better than you do. And stop being an asshole about one little word. I'm sure you phrased something that was incorrect so stop thinking that you are some intelligent minded person because you are not. Good job, you know how to look up words in a dictionary. I'm still sticking with my opinion no matter what you say.

  • hey CmonMidffild, not all americans are stupid, although i will admit that most of them make a pile of rocks look intelligent, but some of us arent retarded. (im american, i forgot to add that)

but KO8E89 is one of those who is outsmarted by a retarded cucumber. (just throwing that out there) lol

  • fuck off

  • I QUIT.

  • can't somebody say baritone around here D:

  • I'm everyone here can say (type) baritone on here. But the fact is that he's playing a Euphonium. So saying that he is playing the Baritone is an incorrect statement.

On a side note though, I LOVE David Childs. He's my inspiration to be a better Euphonium player.

  • Oops. I'm sure everyone....

  • It's called a baritone if you live in America. That doesn't say much. You have an idiot for president and like everything with cheese, so it's called an euphonium.

  • dude ur a dumbshit

we call euphoniums euphoniums in america

  • it's not an American's fault for believing a euphonium is called a baritone. The companies sell euphoniums under that name to make it sound more prestigious and then jack up the price, while they call a student or intermediate model euphonium a baritone and sell it at a lower price, so then all the school kids are stuck with the school funded instruments which are dubiously called "baritones". And the fact that a bunch of dumb composers now don't even know the different between a euph and a bari

  • European tradition had a distinct difference between baritone and euphonium. Mostly dealing with how conical (like cornet to flugel horn) American manufacturers made a single instrument to fit in the American Band instrumentation. If you can reverse the tuning slide I call it a baritone. Additionaly, Euphoniums tend to have a larger bore. Arthur Lehman(soloist Marine Band)led to returning to the Euphonium instrument more characteristic to the European.

  • baritone is more like a horn than a euphonium..more pointy sound

  • Having studied the Euphonium... In British Brass Bands... there is a baritone horn part and a Euphonium part. The baritone horn part is written in treble clef and usually more melodic and sounds like a tenor trombone. The Euphonium has a more mellow timbre and would usually play bass type parts with the 2nd or 3rd Trombone. In America, they sort of blended the two together. A good player would be ready for any clef or part handed to him by the director and would play the style needed.

  • Euphoniums usually have more solo parts than baritone

  • Inspiration much?

  • omg

    his fingers

  • omg...euphonium can do that......awwsoooome..

  • frack at 1:08.... I think lol

  • that is the best piece of music i have ever heard so far being played by a EUPHONIUM----------GO EUPHONIUM

  • I miss playing the Euphonium. David Childs is great and the Euphonium is a kick ass instrument.

  • yaaa...i miss my euphonium...

  • this is amazing, i never hurt this song play a euphonium. Rober and David Childs are AMAZING

  • i've seen him play that live :)

  • I wish bumblebees could fly like that :O

  • HORRIBLE!!! KIDS IN MY HIGH SCHOOL COULD PLAY THIS!!!

    WHOA, just kidding

amazing i love dave childs hes the craziest euphonium player ive ever heard. amazing

  • it amazes me that in everything he plays he treats as though its a walk in the park

  • The drag on video/sound usually occurs when you upload a video directly from a storage device such as a memory stick or memory card. Happened to me before. Next time transfer file to a folder on harddrive and then upload. David Childs is a freak of nature!

  • lol i believe that a proalem with the video-audio sync :P

i love his playing SOOOOOOOOOOO MUCH!!!!!!!!

  • He's just playing faster than the sound!

  • ahh, he played the last tone without his instrument touching his lips. He's overskilled:D
