@amaromc , the typical renaissance pronunciation ?! Oh, so being italian makes you an expert about the "typical renaissance pronunciation"? The "i" can be pronunced only if there's a dieresis, and i don't say it cause i'm italian (and i am) but cause i know italian phonetics
@thallocub It is not being italian that makes me an expert, but being a student of literature allows me to say something about it: in fact the dieresis could be omitted or addes in some cases in order to fit a text with music, as you surely know. However I'm not an expert (as you probably are) so if you say that in this case there's no dieresis, I believe. There is no phonetic mistake that can damage a masterpiece like this, whose players are brilliant, despite your "i".
@amaromc, listen to "i dolci vezzi" and tell me honestly if you can perceive the double zed... i can't but in one voice. So the double "r" in "Narri gli sdegni". "le battaglie audaci", pronunced as it were "le battaje audacci", "bombeggiar" once more with a dieresis (so in the first times, but in the insieme part). The english tradition of madrigal singing should care more about proper italian phonetics. Questa musica è serva della poesia, per scelta poetica dei propri autori.
Please, correct the title of the video: "tenero arciero" instead of "ariero" (it is Cupid, the "tender archer").
There are many interesting things in this interpretation (I like the singer from 4:40 to 6:40 - quite nice bass voice! - timbre, lightness and legato), but it is also a little bit 'square' and too fast (particularly at the beginning) and the italian pronunciation not as correct as it should be, I think.
A good interpretation...may be too fast...but not bad at all...May I have a copy of a conductor score with all instruments and voices?

@epmethus Thanks for watching. I don't have the score, but since it's public domain, you should be able to find it on IMSLP or similar websites.

@thallocub no, it isn't. I'm italian and I can say for sure it's the typical renaissance pronunciation of some words like "arciero" :)

@tremeluzir Thanks for the correction - you can blame Wikipedia for that one!
